I have been fighting algae and diatoms for 6 months. I’ve try everything an still can’t get rid of it. Glad to hear you can use Saltwater aquarium Vibrant for reef tanks. Thanks for the video!

I can help with that. If you have questions just ask
Great video, gonna give it a try. Can you do a video on flow, and which setting is the best to use and at what intensity for this size aquarium. Thanks in advance

Yeah No problem
I tried a similar approach, was getting zero readings on Phosphate and high Nitrates, only thing that ended up working for me was to put some RowaPhos in a RedSea cup with filter floss on top and the hair algae was gone within a month just started breaking away in chunks and then before you know it was all gone. Apparently the hair algae was feeding off the Phosphate that it was showing up as zero on the test.
Is bryopsis some sort of hair algae? It’s not getting worse nor spreading as bad. It receeded in one corner of the tank for some reason. I got more snails in. My 33 gallon tank is only 6 months old.
Do you think this would take care of bubble algae?
Curious, what type of Fuge light are you using to grow your macro?

I got a sea hare. Everything was gone within a week. I've never had a result like that with anything I have added to the tank. I now feed it seaweed but if you have a problem one sea hare will get rid of it
I've had some success with Vibrant but I've also heard a lot of negative reviews. I also suspect that it was the cause of my clams death. Use with caution.

Yes any chemical needs to be used with caution. 1/2 dose and work your way up. I’ve never had a clam so I don’t know how it would do. But that is a really good point. I should have mentioned that in my video

It is toxic to mollusk. It is also the same thing as algaefix which is 1/3 the price and did not lie about what it was made of.
I tried this method. The vibrant killed the gha but led to dinoflagellates. Dinos are far worse than gha. It killed all of my snails and didn't go away until I stopped vibrant and literally started double dosing bottled bacteria and nitrates back. On top of that, the hair algae eventually made a slight comeback from all the dead stuff releasing ammonia that became nitrates. Can't say I recommend it.

I’ve done it multiple times in my tank. Never had even a polyp close. Snails are thriving, shrimp survived. It didn’t mess with my nitrates at all. I’m sorry that happened to you. All it did for my tank was kill the hair algae.

@RespectTheReef Everyone's tank is different. Maybe I already had dinos and they were just waiting for a chance to explode. There's no way to know

Vibrant is algaecide. I had the same thing happen to me when trying to kill some cyano. I heard that it was a miracle product and I started dosing. Killed a bunch of my coral and stripped the tank of phosphates. Boom dinos. Then 2 weeks later it came out that it’s algaecide.
Whta about microbacter clean?

I've tried Vibrant. For me, it doesn't do anything. Makes the tank nice and clean looking but the hair algae is still there 😢
