"How to get rid of bed bugs
Okay we get a lot of phone calls asking how do I get rid of bed bugs, and there were several steps that go into this procedure and step one is always going to be inspection and sanitation. What we mean by that is we are going to search the room and we're going to get rid of anything that we don't absolutely need to have. That means that we're going to get rid of extra papers that we have laying around. If we store things under the bed we're going to get those things out from under the bed; we're going to move them out of the way so that we can clear the way toward a treatment path. All clothes should be bagged up. Drawers should be emptied. So your room should kind of look like it did when you were first moving in. Everything should be clean and empty. Then we are going to move on to step two, and that's the thorough treatment. That means every crack and crevice, every nook and cranny has to be treated with some product. Whether it's an aerosol, a liquid concentrate, or a dust everything must be treated. Step three, you go back and you treat again, and you're going to treat every two weeks until you don't have any more bed bugs or any evidence of bed bugs for at least thirty days.
Common Mistakes
Okay, some common mistakes folks make when they're trying to get rid of bed bugs is just not doing a thorough job. A lot of folks want to go in and just kind of broadcast spray all over the room and hope that just does the job. Well bed bugs like to hide in cracks and crevices so it is very important that every crack and crevice is treated. This means cracks and crevices around base boards, door frames, window frames, picture frames. If you can fit a credit card in there a bed bug can also hide there. Every crack and crevice must be treated. The second common mistake is just not doing the repeat treatments. People want to treat once and move on. Unfortunately the bed bug egg is protected so those repeat treatments are necessary with every product that you use.
Can I do it myself?
You may be wondering if you can treat bed bugs yourself versus hiring a professional, and the answer is of course you can. You have to be committed to adding a little bit of your own labor into the process, but if you are willing to do that you can certainly treat bed bugs yourself. We do recommend that you use one of our bed bug kits versus trying to choose one single product because there could be a resistance issue with the product that you are choosing and treating the string of bed bugs that you have. If you choose a kit you'll notice they come with an aerosol, they'll come with a dust, and may even come with a liquid concentrate. These different products are all chosen to put together into one kit so you can avoid any kind of resistance issue"

What exactly do you do for $250 - and for how many square feet? If you're talking about a simple single-time spray treatment, people can still do that themselves for way less than $250 - about $15 - $30.

Can I put a used bed in my shed and freeze it all winter to make sure there will be no bed bugs in my home when I bring it in before Spring ???

Bed bugs are actually very resilient to cold temperatures, so we do not recommend any type of freezing or cooling to try to control them. A much better (and easier) option is to use a bedbug-proof mattress encasement (and box spring encasement if you have a box spring). www.domyown.com/bed-bug-mattress-covers-c-39_181.html We sell excellent encasements that are comfortable to sleep on, most of which also protect from liquid spills, dust mites, and more. Be sure that you measure your mattress and box spring before purchase to be sure they will fit correctly. Feel free to call us at 866-581-7378 if you have any questions!

Ok I have to move out of a place with bed bugs. What can I do so I dont move them? Is there a repellant so me and my dog can get some sleep? Right now I feel like just taking my dog and walking out with nothing not even my winter coat or any of my food or food prep stuff

+Sandy Marie Unfortunately the only way to move your possessions from an infested home and directly into a new locations without bringing the bedbugs with you, is to have your possessions loaded into a Uhaul type trailer and then hire a pest control company to fumigate the interior of the trailer with a special gas. If this is not possible you will need to follow the treatment protocol laid out in our video and will need to see no new indication of bedbugs on each item for at least 30 days before you move i

Im so overwhelmed with watching videos and knowing I cant do much of anything. Also seeing sets of mattresses while walking my dog is anxiety producing and depressing. These condos have them & Im finding live bugs after the people across from me moved out and they had mattress encasement s on their beds. I decided to add Kleen Free to my laundry and not keeping many clothes right now. Kleen free is an enzyme pesticide for laundry and its not just for bedbugs but will kill fleas and its safe to use on my dog. I cant take a lot so just trying to pack & clean so the landlord doesnt have a huge mess. Bad enough his condo is infested along with quite a few others

Moving will not get rid of the bugs. You will take them with you and infect your new residence. Washing your clothing in hot water & drying in a hot dryer is a good start but it won't get rid of the bedbugs. You need to spray everything as mentioned in the video. Get rid of things you don't need and then spray all cracks. Then spray again in 2 weeks like instructed. If they are coming out of the walls you'll need powders to do the outlets. Also, check furniture with a bright light and magnifying glass and then treat as needed.

Pest control is not surgery, dentistry, or rocket science for that matter. It's simply applying chemicals and products in the right places. Anyone can do it.

I'm sharing my experiences with everybody with the same problems. All are based on tips and experiences of others and used the ones that are most easy, cheap and almost fun to do. Because of the fear of victoms I never bought poisons or hired a professional to fix the problem. Expensive sellers and professionals always tell you these options will never work and ofcourse they make there earnings by it. (logical I would do the same wink) Recently I added an extra tool to kill bedbugs called Diatomaceous earth, natural, safe (My roommate even feed the cat some but don't breath it in yourself) and it's cheap. With Diatomaceous earth inside a bedbug filled container they died within 24 hours! So happy of seeing things die (evil laugh) Ofcourse it goes this fast because there is no place to go so they keep walking trough the DE, in other places it will take a couple of days to die. Total lists of tricks: 1. Cleaning: Washing your bedsheets at a high temperature or put them in a heater for a while. This will kill eggs or bugs that are hidden in here. 2. Killing: Use a heatgun or steamcleaner in all the corners of the bedframe and corners of the matress, also couches in all places in and outside the couch, especially where they always hide. My investation started around the couch by guests sleeping on it. Whenwith using a heatgun, it gets at a very high temperature and when using it to close to items it could burn, melt or catch on fire, so watch out. Or use the steamcleaner, but I personally love the heater, you see them die instantly when you go over it, and the steamer has more pressure. This can blow them away and with the lower temperature they perhaps could still be alive. 3. Preventing: Put seetrough tape on the strips on the walls, legs of couches and beds and between rooms to prevend climing up, or switching rooms. You can add babypowder of making it more slippery so they will fall off when walking on them. Also when your bed/couch is clean make sure it doesn't touch the walls or curtains. Isolate the bed as much as possible. 4. Capture: Set up Co2 bed bug traps. They can't enter your bed or couch, so they will be attracted by the co2 for food and get caught in the trap 5. Killing some more: Now I also used DE to do some more killing I sprayed: - The corners with floor/walls. - Cracks, cable holders, wallplugs and so on. - Underneath the couch cushions. - Bottem and inside of the couch. - Around my bedframe and bottom of the matress, sometimes between matress and sheets. - And especially in the places where the always try to hide and set up a bedbug community, when they will come back you left them a notwelcome back present. With all these uses it will help you get ride of the extra hungry houseguests and make it a home like it was before. Hopefully these work for you as well.

+Set Yetty That's the best you can have, bedbugs that don't bite and just die themselfses. But if they do bite then putting the powder around your bed to get them walk trough it and it's done. :) Let's keep get rid of them :)

only use a product that kills the eggs two or theyll keep hatching, they wont tell you this because their gitting rich off this epidemic. i also found they gave out a lot of false info at the begainning of this epidemic, so we wouldnt know how to treat them. Like when they first said that bed bugs bite you at night and go back into hiding at daybreak, and you itch all day because of the bites you got last night ,which was a lie, we know that now, because you can fill them crawling around on you for gods sakes.

Reasons to hire a professional: you don't know how to read, you're too lazy to do it yourself, or you have so much money it doesn't matter to you. Seriously, you can either pay $5,000 to 6,000 to hire a professional, or do a little research and do it yourself for $200 to 400...
