This really works. I was amazed at how quickly. I had tried the commercial ant traps and they did not seem to work at all. I used baking soda instead of Borax but the formula worked. I watched as the the little came and went from the soda/sugar formula. For mine, they actually were all dead by 12 hours. I saw where the ants were going to meet the queen. Thank you so much!

I saw that formula on another video and they recommended using cotton balls and put them around. I did that and slowly, but surely there are less ants going on those cotton balls. I did put the cotton balls on small pieces of wax paper. I like what you did is use a bottle cap or maybe some other very small container. Thanks for the formula and the idea. It does work!

I haven't seen the cotton ball technique. I guess they saturated the balls with a sugar/boraxo solution?

This worked for me for a few months they disappeared, unfortunately they came back and this time around they won’t eat the borax, even if i mix it with sugar they ignore it, its like they adapted. Any suggestions on something else to mix it with?

I'm not sure. We've used it several times and it always worked. People also use baking soda instead of Borax with sugar with good results. Some ant species, however, prefer meat from other insects and etc. and may eat sugar only if they can't get the protien in their diet.

Maybe they don’t want sugar and want a protein based one. I also heard that you sometimes need to add a lot of sugar to cover the borax smell…

Maybe try bouillon crushed and borax.

@@ashmagardener You know, that just might work. I would crush a bouillon cube to powder, mix in an equal amount of Boraxo and a few drops of water to bond it together. Is that how you do it?

Not working for us. Day two, and no ants have gone near the traps, but I still see them crawling around my and my mother's counter tops. Any idea why they wouldn't be attracted?

I'd give it a couple more days before you give up. If you read through this chain of comments, viewers have also recommended other formulas that they have used successfully. The fact is, there are many varieties of ants and not all of them will be equally drawn to sugar.

@@deerparkhomeshop2471 Today and yesterday they were all over some chopped onion and a hamburger (separately), so go figure.

You don't need borax. Bicarbonate of soda/ baking soda does the same thing and is much safer also mix it with powdered/icing sugar I sprinkle this outside.

I haven't tried baking soda for ants yet but I probably will next time. The borax did a great job. After all this time, we still don't have ants in the house. Thanks for the heads up.

can´t buy borax in my country.. used beer and lemonade in a bowl.
