So I know that the MediaFire file seems sketchy, but it was uploaded by me, it’s just the Complementary Reimagined Shader but with settings pre-applied.

sodium and iris is much more recommended nowadays just because of the compatibility with fabric mods, and its overall performance improvement over optifine

​@@burakkaya9149 nah its not, if youre playing with seus PTGI HRR3 like me optifine has better results in quality and fps, there are some shaders that are working better on iris, but you cant say that optifine is shit

Thats not ray tracing, complementary uses ssr to render reflections, and ray tracing is a little more complex that that. but if you want true rtx use Kappa PT it uses path tracing like in cyberpunk77

You think path tracing might be a bit... overkill? i also suppose it would more performant if shader devs made use of the RT cores in nvidia gpu, but that only works in vulkan mod (there is no directx mod for minecraft unfortunately) since opengl isnt supported

@@Shockxv path tracing is a more extreme implementation of ray tracing. when games implement ray tracing they will keep rasterized lighting and shadows and just use ray tracing for closer lighting. path tracing completely replaces all rasterized lighting and will struggle to run on a 4090

I know people were saying that this isnt ray traced but WHO CARES! THIS IS SO NICE! It's safe too and i have a GTX 970 AND I STILL GOT 200 FPS! THANK YOUUUU!

this isnt RTX, these are shaders, also note that you can get better performance with sodium + iris

for your information complementary reimagined is NOT a raytracing shader, it's a rasterizer one. but you had rethinking voxels installed, which IS a raytracing shader. i just don't understand why you said that complementary reimagined is raytracing... note: if you want raytracing, use rethinking voxels. (they only work for minecraft 1.19.3 or lower)

OptiFine is mega outdated in terms of performance, you're better off with Iris on Fabric, or Oculus for Forge. Downloading optifine for modern versions of minecraft, modern hardware is shooting yourself in the foot for performance.

For the newer versions, i'd say fabric has more mods now. I think it's because optifine is a very simple install.

recommending optifine in 2024 is bad advice considering sodium and iris exist and are a significant upgrade, also complimentary is not ray tracing,

Yup, dude above me is right. Rethinking voxels that you also have in your folder are much closer to real ray tracing,. Complementary does not have ANY raytracing and i get better performance on an amd card than you do (about 2x) all in all, video is misleading.
