What I did to improve aim in practice range is to grab a sniper and try to black scope further targets while moving around first slowly and increasing speed, it helped with my crosshair placement

I've done this for practice/warm up with sniping from the beginning. From plenty of experience this is very efficient & effective for both improvement & warming up. However, to maximize your improvements wear the finger/thumb sleeves to provide consistency with muscle memory.
