HL physics 5/6 | 6
HL econ 6 | 6
SL english lit & lang 6 | 6

    I legit have 2 Es and a A for my prediction and I need to get AAB ORABB but my teachers won’t give me higher grades and I can’t blame them because I didn’t revise at all . I know I will get All As at yr 13 because I will put in the work but I feel like I need to persuade my teachers next year or ask them to do a test when I come back

    Hi Terry, so i am guessing you just finished year 12? If I were you I will use this summer to plan and sort out how you want next year to be. Start organising yourself to make sure your plan of getting all As becomes a reality. As much as I want you to believe in yourself, mentality is not enough, you also need to actually put in the work. Do try and persuade your teachers, and do make sure you actually revise this summer. Best of luck with everything, you've got this, I have faith in you :) !

    i'm not sure, i dont think they prioritise GCSE grades that much, but if they do have lots of applicants, they might take it into consideration.

    I do BTEC IT and want to do Computer Science at UoB, I'm predicted D*D*D* (the highest you can get for BTEC) but the university that I want to apply to wants A level maths at an "A". My GCSE maths was a 7 which is about an A but that's about all I have for maths. I unfortunately don't do A Level Maths, does that mean I can still get an offer by providing a good personal statement with some experience?

    Hello. It really depends on the university. I wasn't predicted the grades i needed but i was doing the right sixth form courses. My best advice is for you to give them a call and see if there is something they can arrange for you. i think you might have to take foundation year despite having really good predictions... best of luck! sorry i cant help much but let me know how it goes.. my ig is alejcf if you want to message me about any other stuff... you got this✨

    All this focus on Russell Group is not good, they are just a self-selected group of university and there are quite a few non-members that are significantly better than some members of the group. They are NOT the UK equivalent of the US ivy league. I'm speaking as a graduate from one of the highest ranking Russell Group member.

  • @DefenderOfMankind

    @DefenderOfMankind

    I do understand your point and agree to some extent. They really are not the equivalent of ivy league schools. It is hard to spread this message to younger students especially to those that have big aspirations and expectations set on themselves. I do want to (hopefully) get this across once I have a bigger audience. I appreciate this comment a lot and I do believe it is something that is not always mentioned but should be.

  • @DefenderOfMankind

    @DefenderOfMankind

    3 жыл бұрын

    hello, so it depends on the offer you got. if it's unconditional then they will definitely let you in the course. If it is conditional then they would probably no longer offer you a place, if your chosen course has a 'Foundation year' option, they might offer you to take that instead of directly going into first year. Hope that helps!

  • @DefenderOfMankind

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hello, it really depends on the universities but also the courses! Many universities would offer a foundation year instead providing they offer foundation year courses for the degree you are applying to. Make sure you do things well for the things you have control of, like your ucas application. Make sure your ucas components like personal statement and teacher reference are good and really showcase your skills! Good luck!
