I'm sorry bro, but if your PC is running Beam at 10FPS there was no helping you. And he did say that in the begining. Go back to the DirectX10 version of the game. Would be better to get a new PC. But I know how it feels for everyone to say that and you cant. I would reccomend getting an old Lenovo or Dell tower and throwing in a cheap GT1030, works amazingly for me (20-30 FPS at Medium) get one with at least a 4th gen Intel processor (I5-4570 or I5-4590 prefered) and you'll be living the budget dream.

@@fuziongt because you're using a laptop, gpu and cpu are naturally limited because of heat 1650 isnt even that good of a card to begin with, but since its a mobile card (laptop gpu) its already gonna be worse than you may see on a desktop gpu and if your laptop isnt running too well and its running too hot, that will limit performance aswell

@@ChocoYT602 Yeah, more fps means my computer’s processor is over-performing. Therefore, I put more cars, the fps drops back to that 71 range, then nothing really changed except now I have more cars.

Man, this guide is awesome, it doubled my fps, and now I have a total of 2 fps to work with. You are a star.

From averaging 28 fps to 36 fps average it really made a huge difference, thanks a lot.

@@can._.you_dont The problem on your computer is probably the CPU and not the GPU, and there isn't much you can do, there is one option in gameplay menu called, simplified collisions, that might help, and closing everything on background including discord.

Considering my computer crawls at the menu screen, I need this video.

I found your channel on the beamng steam page which was about FPS increase, glad you made another one.

BeamNG is an incredible game. I tried running it on my G15 (3070, ryzen 9 5900hs) and created the worlds first sustained fusion reaction.

If you really think about it beamng looks stellar for the amount of calculations that are ran constantly multiple times a second. It’s impressive that a small team has put this game together the way that they have. I cant wait to see if they add tire wear and realistic flat spots, it’ll be so cool to ruin tires and blow them up.

Though the physics simulation they implemented is amazing, the graphics system seems super unoptimized. I mean it looks great and all, but considering all the bells and whistles it has still it doesn't look any better than, say, 2013 Trackmania series, or Euro Truck Simulator 2, but warms up your system pretty good.

LOWERING YOUR TEXTURE QUALITY WILL NOT BRING PERFORMANCE GAINS. Feel free to run the game with high quality textures if you have 4GB+ of VRAM. It's a free quality boost. Textures only start affecting your FPS if you run out of RAM on your GPU.

It will, because it reduces the rendering strain on the GPU of having to draw high quality textures on everything. Lower texture quality = less pixels and things to draw = more performance.

@@cwhitley.sawlabs sure, if VRAM is low, since that will make the game breathe a little easier. You tend to notice when it runs out of RAM and "garbage collects" getting rid of old stuff. But if it doesn't do that with high texture quality, then differences in performance should be minimal.

Thanks, you literally doubled my FPS at very intense spots from 35 to 70 FPS. And for the less intense scenes I can now easily reach my 144 FPS matching my monitor refresh rate! The update rate 6 -> 3 really worked wonders.

on west coast, went from 30fps low to 80fps on ultra, although the new pc might have had something to do with that. in seriousness, on the new pc, before the tutorial I got 80fps on just normal ultra settings, and after the tutorial I got 105fps!! 1:52 I wonder if increasing the amount of RAM would help with performance. The other day I got seriously close to using up all of the ram in my system (32GB) when recording a scene for my latest video and noticed that the frame rate had dropped under the 60 FPS mark. Although it doesn't help that I have like 50 chrome tabs open at the same time. 😅

I run BeamNG on a GTX 960m (16gb), and manage to get a stable 40-45 fps on most maps In my case, I turn DOF and textures and lighting to normal; with anti aliasing set to FXAA and dynamic reflections off If you want to get more fidelity out of your system I'd recommend tinkering with the Nvidia game filter (you could replicate effects such as ambient occlusion with it) And though some people may consider reshade as a cardinal sin; it can help you with frame rate in some cases by using external anti aliasing and DOF filters through it. I personally use an HDR filter with tonemapping to make up for the downgrades since it maintains a clean look overall If you want minimal stutter i would highly suggest turning down the texture quality and capping the frame rate since the system could thermal throttle

4:36 I thought the game was more CPU dependent than GPU

R5 3600, EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SC, 16 GB ram, went from avg ~ 38.9 to ~ 80.5 on west coast at 1080p, using the mid range settings. I wanted the 5% lows to be around 75Hz, before adding the UI elements, since that's what my monitor does. After adding my choice of UI the avg went to ~ 77.5. Might tinker with it and drop some fps for better visuals if I feel like it. Thanks MuYe. Edit: spelling

Another good feature to use in the Nvidia control panel is adaptive vsync. Basically prevents tearing in situations where you are pushing more fps than the monitor, but no sync when you get low fps. Helps make performance spikes less jarring to the player.

This guide helped me a lot went from 15-20 fps to 30-40 fps in west coast

from ~60 to ~115 with high end specs, I was running my dynamic reflections too high but these settings are great!

How to increase framerates in beamng. Turn off realtime reflections. That's it. That's all you need to know. Thank me later

@@2807ft That's another problem, BeamNG is so damn unoptimized, atleast for 20 and 30 series Nvidia cards. 40 fucking fps when I have 5 cars spawned in Italy despite my ryzen 3600xt is just unacceptable, they should find a method to not render the ENTIRE map at once. (CPU and GPU wise, as in, AI paths and graphics).

Damn this helped a lot I was at like 17 fps or lower now im at like 50 and 30's.

I have a GTX 1650 TI laptop and I just run the game at the normal preset to have headroom for more vehicles and props, but ill try turning on low dynamic reflections so the mirrors work. I have a 60hz screen so over 60fps doesnt really matter

I literally had West Coast USA open as you said it was the most intense map, it’s my favorite and my pc hates it

I have a pre-built cyberpower and I've gotta say, I'm happy with knowing I have a bit more then recommended, as I didn't want to engine swap a Prebuilt.

@@Electro3Strike Actually it's supposed to be settings that are low enough for most low end computers to run while hopefully allowing them to still be doing at least 30 fps at the computer's highest resolution. Knowing the computer I used to have, it would have probably worked for it. It didn't have a GPU but the 4 processors running at 2.5 GHz each allowed for some good shit even at low settings.

Intro feels like BeamNG was ported to Switch. Recently hacked Switch for more games and have to admit Switch is pretty much has nothing to play, apart from Nintendo games. And I feel like OC Switch can run BeamNG in 60fps 720p

The switch will not handle Bean NG well at all. It is based on the Nvidia Tegra X1+ SoC, which aside from being an ARM based chip, is also terribly slow by modern standards. It's roughly a mid-range phone from 5 years ago in terms of performance. The best chance Beam NG has on an ARM based system is an M1 Mac, and failing that, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1's GPU is actually up to the task when it's not thermally or voltage limited.

If you only use beamng repository, you definitely won’t get any viruses. All mods have to be approved by the devs. Just avoid modland, world of mods, and all that and you’ll be fine

I actually was having issues with FPS (even on a $3000 laptop) But after following this i managed to get FPS up to 70 in Utah. Thanks local Italian Jazz driver!

Before: 13 - 14 FPS After - 27 - 28 (Only if you look up), 13.7 - 14.4 - .3 if you look f/b. Thanks! its a big improvement!

If i give you guys a recommendation for a lower end build. I recommend an 8 core/ 16 thread Quadro k2200 build. Its dirt cheap. And runs games like beamng on low settings at an average of around 60-80fps. I got this build on eBay for around 170 bucks. The pc model was a Thinkstation p500. Works flawlessly. Plays games like gta 5 just as good as a high end console. So yeah, if you are wondering what a good recommendation would be. Id look around for a thinkstation p500 or p510. Both are great options to start a build if you truly wanted =)

top tip: turn of shadows in the debug menu for extra performance

I've got a 4 core i3 9100F, GTX 1050Ti and 16gigs of ram. I was running the game on the lowest settings before and got well over 75 fps but I decided to stop being so stingy and tried bumping up the settings. I was hovering around 30-40 fps until I followed this and now I'm sitting at around 65 fps while still having my game look decent. Thank you baby blue italian man.

I used high end optomization. i have a i5 8500, 32gb ram and a gtx 1080 (asus rog strix) (overclocked) and i went from 48 ish fps to 65 ish with mirrors on full res full detail and 600 distance with a update rate of 3. i would like to thank you so much becasuse ive always had a fps issue in this game. (mind you this is in 1440p. i dont play in 1080p so you are a life saver.

something that i use and that helps me run this game at max possible settings is to use Lossless Scaling's frame generation to double your fps. just limit your fps to whichever number you will guaranteed hit, and do ctrl + alt + s, boom, downloadable fps. there is basically no affect you can see other than the numbers like on your speedometer look kinda weird, but other than that its just downloadable fps. its only 7 bucks on steam and super worth it

Once upon a time on my gtx1070 I used to drive jungle rock and the second I touched a leaf I would watch my fps crumble. Now I can go into all the trees and have 385829959295929969070069918572884fps. Marvellous optimisation beam team

i found that lowering the mesh quality all the way boosted my fps by 30 frames, im in the midrange section for pc's. it makes objects far ugly but you're usually focusing on the car anyways
