@@CommanderM117 yeah it would be really cool to role play as the Zerg by having all of your Technology based parts and everything be organic. Especially if they added new cosmetic armor and even a new playable race to match it. I would love to have an entire fleet of living Starships frigates and a living freighter as well as an organic settlement and fleshy base. And because of the Desolation update they already have a lot of things they could use to make models for the interior of these fleshy ships. It would be cool to have the Stellar gas extractor on your freighter looks like a big pulsating heart

Regular living ships have already been expanded with upgrades and storage expansion. Living freighters bring those back.

In order to find more living frigates, you’ll need to get the anomaly detector, from shooting asteroids, then activate it. Go into hyperdrive then keep scanning until you come across whale song detected, then you’ll find a living frigate.

is it rare o find an anomaly detector? I used mine on mistake and spawned a blackhole. lmfao I'm quite new to this game and those random encounters are really interesting.

@@johnP0908 Its not that hard. You can find anomaly detector destroyng some space rocks. But remember, you will stop the hyperdrive only when appers the symbol of living fragate

Yes, that's what it meant where it says u like the player it doesn't iterate. The atlas has no control or knowledge of them, and they have seen the player through different resets (saves)

I think these set of questions are to determine the status of each frigate. Ex: If you want a combat oriented frigate, you have to get more combat oriented answers, and so on.... The problem is finding 29 of these dreams to set up Ana entire fleet....

From what I've heard, to get another, you have to have this item in your ship inventory, and get it as a random space encounter. For best results, use the item that makes a space encounter spawn, and only stop your ship once you get the sign "Whale Song Detected". You can only get one frigate per system.

FOR PEOPLE WHO DIDNT DO THE LEVIATHAN EXPEDITION. You don’t need to do it to get the thing for a organic frigate I got it from a normal expedition so you don’t need the leviathan

Now we just need living freighters, living base building parts, a living outfit/exoskeleton thingy, living multi tools, and living vehicles

Living Multitools exist already. Living exosuit is... A skin at best and I don't think an alien creature suit would fit the tastes of most (lest it looks good enough to disregard that).

@@dumbleking5172 I was thinking like a normal exosuit, except the visor is cracked and there's tentacles and tendrils growing all over your body, so you wouldn't be fully alien but it'd keep the vibe.

The nature of the questions you were being asked sounded like it was trying to determine the TYPE of frigates they'll be. Exploration, Support, Combat, Industrial and Trade. (Rather than just being "Other" as Leviathon was...) IE if you fired on the attacking vessle, it would lean to Combat. If you collected all resources on the planet, Industrial. Etc. Very cool and will be interesting to see the combos that could be made.

I agree that seems to be where it's going. My only issue is.. after I got mine & fed it, it's stats & type changed :( I might need to feed it something different. It might be that there are specific items that will change it's stats but then OTHER items that work JUST as food. It had really good stats when I got it too, then it rerolled after feeding it a wiggling tart & I lost a bunch of points in 3 of the 5 categories :(

It makes no difference, I answered completely different answers twice and got the same exact living vessel

I love this mission, I think it has made me more attached to the living ships.

quick tip for any freighter base builders out there. if you make a space catwalk since you can now. no matter what. *do not fall off your frieghter* learned the hard way and also learned that if your close to a planet its somehow survivable?? and no bugs somehow occured lol

Can you imagine if something like the living frigate actually existed out there in space? A massive cosmic whale of some kind that feeds on gasses and solar energies to survive, drifting upon the solar winds as if they were sea currents, going into hibernation during voyages between star systems. Seeing how weird life can get just on our own planet, I wouldn’t be surprised if something like this is out there somewhere. Definitely going to need one of these space whales in my fleet.

Is anyone else getting a weird hitbox on their teleporter on your frigate? I have to go to the side before I get the mouse over, but it works. I'm not complaining, just curious. Love your videos Jason, you are my NMS go-to for answers.

Interesting! Now someone needs to figure out exactly how the choices affects stats and traits of whale frigates.

Update. Based on some reddit posts, it seems like this is the only one you can get this way. However, more will show up on the Anomaly detector, although they will cost units.

Since they released the Normandy as a potential frigate it would be really cool if you could possibly get a Reaper as a living frigate

I read that if you do not have any frigates in your roster, then you can claim the Normandy, and Leviathan frigates.

Igot mine was so happy, I found gamma root the hardest to get so what i did was i waited at the large outpost and visited all the pilots as they landed an bought all the gamma root

Reading the few spoilers for the next expedition leaves me thinking we're getting living freighters with the expedition. I hope so, cause I've been wanting one for a while.

Cannot wait to upgrade my living ship. Hello have done a great job with this game takes me back to the 90's of playing wing commander and privateer 2 the darkening the only thing I wish the wingman's where as effective.

If I'd have to guess, I'd say once you get the dream aerial you can probably only get one living frigate from each system. Least that's my guess. Haven't gotten the chance to test that myself.

As someone who likes his frigates to be "pure" (i.e., industrial frigates can only have mining add-ons), this level of control makes me happy. Now to find out which answers gives "pure" frigates...

I missed the last Expedition cause of my desktops PSU failed! Now I can also get one living frigate!

“The 6 and a half hours later” killed me 😂😂😂also felt that on a personal level

The type of mission or difficulty doesn't matter, I just got the dream stuff from a 1 star mission where I only sent 1 normal ship, not even the Leviathan.

@@Cody.Wright That's probably a bug. Double check in other inventories as well it's not a tech but a craftable item that should go to your inventory. After the freighter mission comes back with loot one of the first ones should be this one. If you positive that you still don't have it, just do more frigate missions, and use that item that makes them quicker.

Great video ..thanks. This game its just awesome all though after while it gets boring. I wish they add another alien faction hostile to all ( just like the Thargoid in Elite Dangerous) . more research blueprints, and even some turrets to protect your bases while away.

Going to do this now

Thank God I made a base that is a living glass farm among many other things, it's built around a Portal as well in the Calypso Galaxy if any travelers pass through grab them resources and help yourself to my outpost

how did you get your expeditions to be so fast? All mine are 6hrs plus longer ones are a full 24

All my missions last night were 2 star & about 6 hours.

living glass is a chance drop from scrapping spaceships. I got 3 from that within less than 30 minutes

Maybe the Dream Aerial just needs time to recharge?

That would make sense IMHO. Much like the initial Living Ship where you had to progress daily for a week (or two. It's been so long!) but once you did that you could farm them if you had planned in advance. Great idea and probably right!

My guess it is works similar to the freighter rescue. Wait long enough and you get another one.

You may have and I just missed it, but did you try pulsing in different systems to activate the Dream thingy or did you just keep pulsing over and over in the same system?

Yes very strange for it. I got giving mine from someone sneaking on in my back pack and boom I got mine too. ;) I think everytime it just gives you it no matter what you say.

Heads up - feeding them Mystery Stew seems to turn them combat...

The answer to the questions probably dictate the strengths of the frigates. Might it also act as a survey by Hello Games to see how players like to play and which type of updates we may enjoy most?

I believe you need an Anomaly Detector. use it and wait for the right type of encounter.

I'm guessing the choices you made affected the stats and bonuses the frigate had.

I’ve never seen a frigate expedition that’s shorter than 10 hours. Every time I check they’re 11-16 hours

You can have freighter upgrades that shorten the expedition times (you can find them on derelict freighters). Also, some frigates may provide a built-in time bonus. And finally, there's a usable item that speeds up the expedtion time, too.

Guys they added a way to upgrade the storage of living ships! You just got to get some spawning sacs, I got mine through an expedition, maybe there are others ways to get some?

I don't know if this is right but possibly time to recharge or is there an option in the menu like the commerce scanner?

After you get the dream arial use the anomaly detector to get more.

The writing in No Man’s Sky is very impressive and unique.

What are those X class modules you have in the upper left hand corner of your exosuit?

is someone else getting the same bug as me? I am on PS5 and everytime I try to collect my living freighter on the Anomaly, the page closes by itself.. I finished my expedition and I collected it before, but after the update it disappeared.

I find it sad how these things are limited just expeditions, they would be cool to have in casual play

Hi guys , since the new update I was looking for the living frigate.(missed the leviathan expedition) Im glad to explain you how I got my second one a few minutes ago. "Anomaly detector" I used the dream aerial for the first one. Then I used 5 anomaly detector and found a new one. Cost me 200 000 000 units to buy it. Both are low class but Ill feed them soon ! Good exploration all , hope I helped somebody in that galaxy

Might be a dumb question but are the living frigates only obtainable on normal mode?

I’m not sure about everyone else but there is a current glitch with the living frigates. I followed this and happen to come across to frigates back to back. The S class forget that I gave my left arm for doesn’t show up in my fleet registry. Submitted a ticket to hello games and have seen that others have had the same experience. Did a little searching and someone mentioned not doing this twice in the sameSystem

I got 25 living frigates now. It gets quite noisy around my freighter now.

When I saw these on leviathan I thought we were getting a living capital ship. I mean the frigates are cool.... bit can you imagine a living capital ship? 🤯

Hi, I really appreciate your videos, they helped me a lot in times of difficulty and made the game enjoyable and not boring! I wanted to ask you if you could make a clip or video explaining how to feed organic frigates with different foods

I usually play in a creative save just so I can see what everything does and how stuff works so im ready in my normal save, but no matter what I do, the living frigate just refuses to talk to me. Does it not interact with you if you're on creative, or am I just glitched?

I've had 2 frigates spawn so far. The first one that I did the questions with was an S class, however the 2nd one was a C, didn't ask any questions and cost 200 million credits. So hopefully you got some funds saved up cuz God only knows what a wild S class might cost

It’s ok to get C class. You can always upgrade it till it becomes S class.

I have been trying to get one now for 3 days and I keep getting the icon for it but there is never nothing there just some freighters to recruit but never the living freighter.

Somehow, I can’t get a living frigate because I had one but I accidentally deleted it and let it go into space and now when I try to get one with the dream aerial in the other things I need it doesn’t let me find one

You might want to see if the dream aerial works in another star system first. You might only get 1/star system.

Got my dream aerial on my polestar expedition save but still have not gotten it on any other save including my main save. hope they figure out the problem and fix it.

How are your frigate missions so short?? Mine range from 5 hours to 25 hours, and that's with all S-Class frigates and 6 of the +15% speed upgrades.

I ran into that as well. Then I found that when I went to manage the fleet on the freighter, it alowed me to add it to my fleet there.

Hi so I've made a new Ariel after destroying the first one and it still doesn't give a second living frigate.

It's not a choose your own adventure. The questions are there for you to answer and the Living Frigate will conform to a specific design based on your answers. Exploration, Combat, etc...
