I've been skating for 10 years now, and throughout that entire time, I never bothered to learn switch because it was way too hard. So don't make that same mistake people. If you're starting now, learn switch while you are learning regular. It's like a brick wall to me and I still have pretty big doubts that I'll ever learn switch tricks. It sucks, so practice your switch early!

Seann Bhuii I skate up in Scotland, the weather sucks so it's hard to skate up here and our roads are either really good or really, really bad. Though we have a skate park in my town so it's pretty good and since hardly anyone skates here it's nearly always empty.

The one that works best for me is setting "lives" or attempt numbers for myself.. it helps me persevere.. I also try and do things like telling myself "I have to land it 3 times before going inside again.." it really helps out!

yall should not forget luan, he got flatground tricks on lock like no one. shane put his self on pressure, thats why he fucks up street league but at least he got a massiv baggage of tricks include bigger spins and that sw tre double and sw big spin double flip, mike mo is really good and has some fucked up dork aound tricks no one think about same with late flip variations and if you take a look to sewa.. he can possibly do any kickflip in double variation like tre double 540 double hard double big double flip oh and he got hardflip fs revert wich is very unique.. chris chann might have all those tricks and nick holt too so its getting really tricky in the finals whoever got in it

Jonathon Fregoso It just depends on certain people's learning process. Some people pick up skating like it's nothing. On the other hand, some aren't that lucky. I learned to kickflip in 1 week after picking up my board. I tried night and day till i got it. Like Chris Chann says, it's all about repetition.

try the ALL FOUR method. Landing a trick in all stances. nollie, fakie, regular, switch. Like learn kickflips. then fakie flips. Then nollie kickflips, and finally switch flips. If one goes for the ALL Four i could see than helping one learn tricks. The all four will get huge soon. we'll be saying he All FOUR'd heelfipped the shit out of that 6 stair. lol

After getting back on my board from not skating for years. I have finally landed my kickflips after 3-4 month. People. Listen to what he says and use his advice.

when I first started skateing me and my friend were like 12. he decided to learn kickflip first and I was goin to learn heelflip. it took us like a year straight of riding around Ollie up curbs every day then we finaly got it then we got confident and started learning pretty quick. skate boarding is all about confidence and and commitment. you can do any trick you want its just a matter of when you learn you it and how bad you want it

Pedlow skatepark the park I go to is like 75% good skaters hogging all the obstacles and 25% beginners waiting their turn

Just got my kickflips back after like 2 years without being able to do them. Since then i've learned a load of stuff Nollie and Switch cos i gave up with the regular stuff but it's coming back :D So happy!

This video i watched back in may 2014 and it has been about a year and my bestfriend started skating with and both me and him can do all the basic tricks varial flips back/front side flips, switch flips. you really are a good guy and skater, chris

The tips were really helpful, keep up the good work! I know I'm going to be a good skater sometime, even though I live in a country where it's almost always raining. The key to success is to not give up and just practice, practice, practice! Get the basics really done - especially the ollie, which I'm actually working on, getting that super good helps you make a solid foundation for all of your future tricks and getting you up to that advanced level like he said

I used tip 1 all the time until I moved I don't have a skate bud no more so I skate alone most of the time just in empty lots cause there is not parks nor good spots but flat ground has grown on me I've learned so much just because that's all I can skate. I saw your'e Channel for the first time last week at this moment you are one of my favourite KZreadr! You motivate me to rebegin Skateboarding Yesterday I land my first Kickflip since 3,5 Years!

Make sure you know what you're doing wrong. For example I never got my left foot of the ground. So I literally popped my board and jumped. Then it technically only took me a day to learn how to ollie

Good advice Chris ! Landed hard flips and varial heels right after this so your tips help out so much !

Aww man good vid. After being a completely lefty in skateboarding, I now find that sometimes I feel stuck when doing something with my left side on rollerblades. I've been working on my sucky left crossovers and stops. Sometimes it gets repetitive and irritating. Just like when I first started skateboarding. My number one tip no matter what you do for fun or to be active, is to never give up. Even if you bust your butt in front of people or get hurt, just take a break, then grab a drink and cool off. Then, later, when the wether is right, you're clam and dressed for success, take your headphones and shove them on and blast some music while focusing on your goal. When I was first learning to kick flip I did the same thing I did when first learning to do crossovers, I did them early morn and late night when it was quiet and I could focus better and I was hidden so it gave me confidence to push further. I now do new stuff in the bright of day in front of anyone. Sometimes weird methods like that help too.

Bailey Bluck i suck at kickflips but have back 3's, varials, switch pop shuvs, frontside flips. don't let one trick fuck you up there's plenty of others.

Haha, it sure sounds like it! I still play.. ;_; Anyway, back on topic.. Thanks for the great tips, Mr Chris. The "last" one definitely is true. Painful and frustrating, yes, but soo worthwhile. (It doesn't apply only to skating.)

the tip you said about learning a trick harder then the one you're focusing on actually works really well, i wanted to learn varial heels, so what i did was try to learn lazerflips, now i got varial heels on lock and I'm almost landing lazerflips. thanks chris

We'll I don't have a lot of friends :/ and I definitely don't know anyone that skates. I skate so much but by myself so I get bored kind of easily but somehow I still skate 1-3 hours everyday. I wanna know what it's like to have a skate buddy.

I love the making weaknesses your strengths. I can't do any shuv tricks and whenever hit my Shin A LOT. So that got to try them again and now I can do shuv tricks.

These tips are great, dude. Thanks so much for making this video. It really motivates me because of what you said about taking you a year to learn the ollie. Now I don't care how long it takes me to learn a trick because I know I can still be a great skater if it takes me forever. Thanks again, dude.
