Hey, it only works with an American credit card (or maybe with any other from a country without region restriction), I tried using a Venezuelan one, but it throws an error. Microsoft hates Venezuela =/

Just did the dashboard trick a second ago and I can confirm it still works. Try this out and it should work. *Instead of signing into your silver account and looking for the explore xbox live icon on the dashboard, scroll over to the right and click SKIP sign in. That will take you to the Xbox 360 dashboard where you will see the explore Xbox Live option again. Click that icon and it will take you to the explore gold screen as usual. Then hit the 360 guide button on your controller and sign into your silver account that way. You will remain on the same screen and then click the "XBOX LIVE GOLD, WHATS IN GOLD" Icon and it will take you to the free one month membership option and then sign up!" That's all there is to it. Try this and let me know if it worked out for you. :)

Btw don't try those links people posted. It's just a bunch of surveys that trick you. This method STILL WORKS, just do my modified way of doing it and you should be good to go.
