In my opinion eBay should have a database of items that meet the VERO criteria and automatically stop us from listing them with some kind of alert. Similar to the red area that appears when we have forgotten an important part of a listing. Come on eBay, it's time to help us resellers who have integrity and want to follow the rules and stop penalizing us.

On eBay community if you go to ….Removed Listings due to Specific Words Used in the Title, VeRO? Scroll down and you’ll see an alphabetized list of companies and keywords who Vero! Hope This helps;)

eBay policy says sellers can’t list Government, private transit, or shipping company uniforms and accessories such as hats, pins and scarves Vintage or collectible uniforms and accessories may be listed if they meet all these requirements: The item is 10 years old or older It's no longer in use It doesn't look like a current uniform or accessory

Yes absolutely makes sense not to sell delivery uniforms, that’s how judge Esther Salas son was killed someone impersonating a fedex delivery person that went to her house to shoot her, uniforms are supplied for free by those companies when you are required to where a uniform so people that buy them online are usually up to no good.

Keeping an eye on what the other KZreadrs are saying is what has really helped me. Rockstar flipper really keeps up with a lot of the rules and legalities of eBay and passes the info on to the rest of us.

I believe the vero for Levis and Nike is that you cannot sell something to a country where the specific model was not originally available in that country. I am in Canada and I no longer sell Nike or Levis outside of North America (after getting some complicated Veros).

@@MGM8779 you’re welcome. Thanks for the informative videos. Also, just to ease your mind, each Vero stands alone. So like first offence is a warning, second is a 3 day suspension, third is a week suspension and fourth is a permanent ban. But each Vero only escalates for the same offence. I’ve gotten several veros over the years, usually for stock photos in the past (Spanx, gymshark, vuori, aritzia, ted baker, reformation, etc) but each one was a warning. It slows down sales temporarily but they won’t shut down your account or anything. So just don’t list another DHL item and you guys should be fine. It’s not like 3 veros and you’re done. You have to keep doing the same thing that eBay warned you not to do. I hope that makes sense.

We are fairly new to reselling and got two Veros in one month!😮 they didn’t suspend us or anything and our sales have been good since. It was for a pair of FedEx shorts and also for a vintage Crib blanket and bumper set……they said there is a suffocation warning for those so be on the look out for that.

I got a vero two years ago on a CupShe NWT swimsuit. They tagged it as a counterfeit. No one is remaking Cupshe 😂So that told me that it is just something they say. I have continued to sell Cupshe on Poshmark. My Ebay store completely tanked for two weeks no matter what I did. I have had another vero but can't remember what it was for but I would say two weeks tank in sales was also what happened. Also, I watched a live the other night with Technsports and he was talking about veros because brands came in last week, Johnny Was being one of them, and did a sweep. He also suggested not listing Nike or Levi's NWT because it is against Ebay policy to send those internationally. He suggested going pre owned across the board and not putting anything about the tags in the listing. I have global shipping on so I would not be able to avoid someone purchasing internationally. Someone did ask how to get around the international and still list Levi's NWT and he said you would have to create an ebay policy for that. I personally am choosing to list pre owned. I do have a reseller friend in town that got a vero and then had her sales tank. She called Ebay and spoke with them about her sales tanking and they did not admit anything. She did say that after the call she began having sales again. Could be a coincidence who knows. Just treat this time as a time to stack your store and when sales pick up from summer and this vero you will be ready to go! Thank you for sharing.

I called them also when it happened to me and I noticed my sales dropped. I told them just that, about the Vero and the fact that I noticed my sales drop. I went on to say, that it’s been taken care of, Item has been removed, all the things have been done but can’t understand why my sales have dropped, seems like a coincidence???? Don’t remember what the CSR said, but (could be my imagination) but sales definitely picked up. Almost immediately 🤷🏽‍♀️

It is in the eBay for Business section way down on the page. With so many companies on that list it is inevitable a VERO will happen at some point.

I got a Vero recently for listing a crib bumper I was selling in a set. So beware. I am a part time reseller without a store so I didn't notice slower sales following. I average $200 profit per week which didn't change. Thanks for sharing your experience. It truly does help the reseller community. I've been on ebay for 22 years and weathered the ups and downs, but best platform for sales I've ever had.

I sold more than 20k pcs of cosmetics products for more than a year then received a 10 Vero recently with no suspension , I messaged the company directly just to inform that my product are not counterfeit. I understand that some companies have limit on reselling items.few years ago I sold thousands of Vitamins but the good thing is,The company sent a message that I can only resell for the rest of the week without violation .Tip cosmetic are really good PROFITS,keep searching on products are most selling. Yes, avoid selling any employee/uniforms. You could get a Vero. I had seen a nwt UPS shirt and left it behind. It's because tgey don't want people to impersonate these workers.

Im also a reseller and I personally wish that all platforms would not allow that reselling of items that could be used in a way to disguise someone as an employee of a business. I may be too naïve, but I’ve watched way too many true crime videos where criminals have used items such as a UPS jacket or a name tag or some other type of clothing item that would identify them to any regular unknowing person as an employee of a company and they use it for nefarious reasons. The risk isn't worth the reward at all. We live and we learn and this is definitely some thing that would shake me up if it happened so I can understand the concern!

Just another POV, but I've sold and bought uniform shirts. When my boys worked in retail (HS & College) they would get 1 shirt. Sometimes that shirt didn't fit. I went on eBay to buy them shirts one to wear, one to wash. It was less expensive than buying directly for the the company (one grocery, one home improvement). When they graduated and went to work their Big Boy jobs I sold the shirts that were in good condition.

I never sell clothes that can be used as uniforms by the regular workers of other companies. It's not the same as wearing a Nike shirt where Nike WANTS you to advertise their logo on your everyday clothes. Corporations are concerned that other people wearing their clothes (uniforms), who are NOT employees of their company, could commit some crime while wearing their company uniforms.

Another item that will get taken down are items with pesticides in them. I listed an Exofficio "Buzz Off" Outdoors shirt. A pesticide is used in manufacturing to keep bugs away while hiking, fishing, hunting etc. I didn't get a VERO but this type of clothing will be taken down by eBay.

There is a Vero list which includes a lot of the brands we resell. I was choked to see some of the common brands we picked for reselling. Have I stopped listing them? No. Just be cautious. The Veros I have got were for a Kate Spade Purse and In n Out hat. The purse was authentic. I sold them outside Ebay, and I will never list items from these brands in Ebay again. Be careful buying from Amazon return stores because some of the items from big brands are counter fits. Another you tuber store was completely shut down for selling stuff from a store that sells Amazon returns. She had to pay a big fine to get her store reinstated. Be careful.

For levis nwt, you can go in and turn off selling to any country in the European Union. Also, nike nwt is also a Vero if you sell to any country in the European Union. The reason North face and Patagonia don't like people selling nwt is because they both offer warranties on items, and they don't want people bringing in something nwt and trying to return or repair those items.

So sorry that has happened to you folks. I never sell anything branded with the USPS, UPS or Fed-EX branding. I've heard they cracked down on this because people could impersonate delivery people. I've received a hand slap for using Velcro in my listing as well. This happened within my first year of reselling. Do not list anything associated with CPAP machines on eBay or Mercari. I've been selling since 2014 and I'm still learning. I thoroughly enjoy your channel. You're enthusiasm is awesome to see. 🙂

Can’t use “smiley” or “smiley face. “Taebo” DVDs. Some other DVD sets, but hard to know which ones, there are only a few. I watched someone that it happened to and can’t remember which set. There are a lot of problems where companies say that the item is counterfeit, whether it is or not and want to know where you got it and want you to pay them $$. Good luck to all of us!

Any delivery companies, any companies that do work on properties inside and out of the home are risking a Vero. Just stay clear of uniforms of employees that may come to your home for any reason.

Same,I thought I was safe because I had recently sold an Amazon employee shirt. They didn't VERO me but gave me a warning. Now I just have 4 pairs of amazon pants collecting dust. Imma try to sell them on another platform lol

I think its just summer slowdown not the vero causing slow sales. Just seems to be at around the same time. Im mainly a shoe reseller and have never gotten a vero using nike goretex selling similar for 4 years. Started clothes and my lister didnt remove the default picture on a nwt vuori pants and just got one too. Same listing on poshmark got an email vero hit as well.

When I started in December, I was listing a purse that had Velcro on it and I put that in the listing, but I was watching a KZread reseller's video at the same time, and they had mentioned not to put that in your listing because you could get in trouble, and I panicked! I quickly revised that listing to change that word. Luckily, I was quick enough to evade any problems.

Please note that ALL companies are VEROS, as they have the "verified right" to their brand name. It's whether they pursue it legally online. That's why eBay has provided us the VERO list. Levi's NWT cannot be listed internationally to some countries, so to get around that, I list it as US sale only.

Some other biggies for no no’s are medical equipment and or anything that requires a prescription like RX sunglasses so make sure the items are not RX. Several utubers have explained getting SUED by EBAY for selling counterfeit items. The one most recently that comes to mind involved a medical device from a utuber. What a nightmare that must have been. She got it resolved but had to seek legal advice. Again thanks for the important topic most people want to avoid!

I've been reselling almost a couple of years. I've gotten two veros. One was for a pair of vtg seal skin boots I guess seals are endangered. The other was for a new Vivienne Westwood necklace I got at an amazon return store. The funny thing was I got the vero after it was sold and then got a positive review from the buyer. I seldom list anything as new with tags just for abundance of caution. Or I will list as new but not put a brand in the title just show in pictures.

Great info. The items you mentioned are definitely legit from what I've heard. I think Gerber protects the word onesie. Harrington as in the jacket style is a potential vero because Harrington is a standalone company. Anything under the Dupont umbrella notably kevlar. True Religion new with tags. Grunt style I've heard, maybe that has passed. Don't use ivory in your title as a color.

I literally just paused the video when you showed me the DHL jacket went to google and searched "can you sell a DHL delivery service jacket on eBay?" and when you scroll down there's an advertisement from eBay saying that that's the place to search and had a picture of your jacket on there! So if it's a DHL jacket that is not allowed to be sold for security purposes for delivery service then why the heck is eBay advertising through Google services that you can find one on eBay?! WTH!

Otterbox just don't sell as new, same as The North Face. Nike and Levi's you can't sell new to Europe. I've never seen an issue with Patagonia or Gore-tex.

Careful with n listing as new is what I keep hearing. Makes sense I suppose. I got a Vero a couple years ago for a new sealed 20 year old rubix cube.

Funny thing is you are the property owner and we do have a sell doctrine in the law. But yeah all that is besides the point since you can't fight corporate lawyers.

It was new. No stock photos I purchased it from Nordstrom but I gained weight and never wore it

2009 DHL stopped delivery service in the U.S. They're still in other countries so maybe that's why the Ten-Year rule doesn't count with this one. I sell USPS, FEDEX, and Amazon uniforms on Mercari.

I don’t think you guys mentioned it but were you still allowed to list items with the vero? Because if you keep getting them they won’t let you list for like 30 days. If you are still allowed to list while having the vero I’d keep doing my daily listings. Don’t stop listing

I don’t think so. From what I’ve heard, you can get in trouble selling that brand across the board whether new or used.

I've heard Kevlar is a keyword you don't use and don't resell some work out brands like Iron Body dvd's will get you a Vero. So I stay away from all work out dvd's. I listed a Gore-Tex item today and you scared the hell out of me so I went and checked and there is tons of them on ebay and some have sold recently. I think Gore-tex is safe

Thanks for the tips on Kevlar and work-out videos. It may be that Gore-Tex is ok but just to give you something else to think about… when we listed the DHL jacket, there were definitely other listings with the same type of jacket and sold comps and I just checked and one just sold on 5/17. I think it was Technsports that said it’s illegal to speed but not everyone gets caught and ticketed. We’re definitely going to err to the side of caution going forward.

Your vero is because it’s an employee delivery service. People use these to access peoples homes etc.

You can’t sell company items like UPS, Fed ex, etc because people can pretend to be employees. You can’t sell NWT Levi’s internationally or Nike. Just update your shipping policies for international shipping. Never use the word Velcro, Gore-Tex, onesie, Harrington Bomber when referring to Polo Jacket. Those are some common ones. Some things that are new with tags are better off listed as pre-owned.

You are correct on Levi’s. You can’t sell NwT Levi’s to Europe but anywhere else is fine. I got 2 VEROs for that when I started. I forgot about it when I listed new Levi’s so that is how I got the 2nd one.

I heard Kevlar is also a bad word to use in listings.

I just watched a video of a reseller on KZread and he said Kevlar is “a VERO word” on eBay and that he doesn’t include it in his listings.

My take .....any item that doesn't have a better inner tag, just having a number etc like that one, are Chinese knockoffs. I avoid any item that has a tag like that. So many company items are good sales. I sell McDonalds hats, T's etc. Things like Schwan or UPS shorts have sold well. The list goes on. I'm not concerned about most company items.

I know you don't sell much women's stuff, but I've had NWT stuff taken down by Gymshark and Reformation. So add those to the Patagonia/Johnny Was/ Northface list
