Alright kiddies heres how to get a job at Pixar: 1) Work your actual butt off. This is Pixar, they want talent. 2) Draw daily. Learn your basics. Learn backgrounds. Anatomy. Painting. History. *Study and do your research* 3) Create a portfolio showcasing your work online and when jobs are available you can submit it. If you have a friend who works for Pixar ask them if they have position openings and they can recommend you to the studio. 4) Trail and error guys. Its taken Pixar animators 1-10 years to get a job at the studio. If you manage to get in on your first few tries, youre lucky. Learn to accept rejection. As an artist it will happen a lot to you. Remember you are one amoungst thousands, be original, stand out, be creative with what you do.

Dude I pumped right now. I have a very bad up hill battle, but then cool things is i'm ready for it. One of the things I did was delete all my games off my computer, phone, and tablet. Once i graduate i will work my ass of to work for pixar I'm huge on crating characters, stories, drawing and coming up with concepts, scenarios and outcomes, i use technology to enhance my art man this is the dream job and i will work there ! No one will stop me

There's a couple videos I've seen on KZread of Disney recording the orchestra for movies. I saw a Frozen one and I think a Beauty and the Beast one, and it was pretty interesting. Maybe it'll give you a tiny bit of insight on the process.

That's not really position at a company. Most composers are freelancers and the usual way to land a gig is by having a kickass showreel and pounding the pavement by working with short film makers and providing free demos for people.

Working at Pixar has always been my dream job. In high school, I'll be taking Animation/Production classes to perfect little tidbits that I still have trouble with. All I need to do is to remind myself that I can achieve anything that I want. I can't wait till I can make my dreams possible. Till then, see ya!

I've seen pretty much every movie that Pixar has ever made, and I would really want to be one of the animators to work with them. It's always been my dream to animate, and Pixar just seems like the best of all of them when it comes to making animated films, so to work for them would be a dream come true.

I watched "Inside Pixar" and the episode with Deanna Marsigliese, changed my life! that small series was so inspiring and I will work so hard to become a character designer

EPIC YAOI FANGIRL My highschool, although in a small town and district, has a pathway for Animation and graphic design, last year I took the principals, and now in Animation, holy mother, I love it. And my teacher has taught someone who worked at Pixar, and now Oculus Rift. Next year, I can have two class periods of it. Good luck, and I hope you reach your dreams

I love seeings everyone in the comments being so determined to get their dream job just like I am! It honestly makes me want to work harder than I already do. The tips both in the video and the comments are amazing I'll start using these tips as soon as I possibly can which a couple I can put into effect today or at least sooner then when I go to try to get a job at Pixar or Disney.

My goal in life is to work at a studio! I don't care whether it's for gaming or animation! I just need to be working in a studio environment!

Ever since I was 10 I wanted to become an animator. I tell myself everyday that I’m getting closer to accomplishing my dream. I love to draw and im not perfect at it but I’m trying and I would love to see a full process of how things are done. I see videos but they always skip around, I haven’t yet found a video that shows a full process of even a few second of animation and I hope that one day I’ll find it.

My dream job has always been PIXAR and I want to be a storyteller because I suck at drawing.

I'm starting animation this year at Sheridan College, best animation school in the world! Lots of graduates end up working for Pixar, Disney and Dreamworks! BTW this shows nothing about becoming an animator. You HAVE to be good at drawing to do computer animation. Life drawing and layout are also just as important as character design and storytelling.

Well im going to be a junior in high school this summer, and im going to take computer and art 1 classes. Right know i live in FL but when i will graduate from college i wish to have a job at Pixar A.S. Thats my dream job, to create characters, sets, color, and other art, and bring them to 3D. Or to work on Animation, yes im also foreign but english know pretty well. I will try my best at least move to CA, Emeryville, i hope in 4 or 6 years you will have open position at animation or art :), Yes i do like also work in groups, discuss staff, talk with other people, share ideas. But lets hope i will get what i have in my dream :)

5 years later: How is it going??

I once had an idea for a animated feature about a female house dog who gets separated from her human family moving to a different state and has to try and find them and sets out on an adventure to find them and along her travels she ends up meeting and joining a gang of wacky wild animals led by a charismatic and clever Coyote or Fox and they join the dog on her quest but also have to avoid a notorious and evil taxidermist/hunter with an appetite for wild animals including a vicious pack of wolves who are just as feared throughout the woods as the hunter.

@Iodyzer A house dog is not an actor dog. A dog trying to find their family is the only thing similar. Why the dog got separated and how they behave are very different.

It is if you want to get into game design. Concept artists, storytellers and production managers are just a few of the careers that are shared between the two areas. And if you want to be the best that you can be, every bit of advice and experience is useful.

I want to get a job at Pixar and I can draw and love telling stories but I’m still learning the ropes of animation. But what am I going to expect if they reject me if I’m not doing something right? I have to be prepared and I won’t let anybody tell me that I can’t. But what are those hardships I’m gonna face? Because all I’m doing is what I love. Is it money? Talent? Vision? Brainstorming? Can anybody tell me so I can be prepared?

I'm doing character animations right now and I am working wicked hard to work eaither for pixar or some studio soon!!! Loved animation since I was a kid and still do :)

As a kid I always thought sully looked like bubblegum icecream haha.

So in the video she says she has a degree in secondary education and English. But she also says she "started from the bottom" at Pixar and worked her way up. My question is how did she get a job "starting from the bottom" with a degree in secondary education and English? I've looked on their career sight several times and all the listings are either internships that require that you're still in school, or upper management/leadership positions that want people with 5-10 years real world experience in other upper management/leadership positions. Where are these entry level positions and how do I apply? I have a degree in Film and Media Art so at the very least I did study animation while in school, as well as all aspects of film in general. I've been strongly considering going back to school again just so I can qualify for the internships.

I started with medicine and served in the Military and I slowly fell in love with statistics and mathematics. This love then evolved into technology and computer science. I now spend a lot of my time building businesses involved in all manner of technology from entertainment to projects in the developing world. Is there a way to work at Pixar/Disney/DreamWorks/ the lot as a story teller without being an animator?

I would suggest that people especially when coming out of college to consider working for them self for a bit and even if they can pick up some unpaid experience at the same time. Working for small companies at first and then working your way up the ladder and as you say making contacts is a must. Networking is a massive help.
