How to get 5 volts to K Series CSS sensor transmission.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This video is another way to get 5 volts to your High Frequency from your VSS sensor to your CSS signal Hondate Kpro / RSX ecu and gauge cluster that requires a Low Frequency signal for your K swap applications.
I'm just using a DC voltage convertor box to turn my 12 volt source to 5 volts to feed power to my CSS sensor located in front of the transaxle.

Mine works fine. This video was just to show another option to get 5 volts to the sensor but I got rid of the dakota digital box and ended up using the ktuned vss convertor box and it works way better. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qWaIpNNudM3IiKQ.html

Anyone who has a cable driven speed sensor "91 and older hondas" you can use a d series sensor for a few pulls before the plastic gear strips but if you buy part #sbc1118 "some k series sensor not sure what motor it actually goes to but i put the gear and shaft in a d series sensor housing and its perfect i have seen people try to make this with a k20z1 sensor but it has a plastic holding the shaft to the gear this is all metal same gear and no need for modification

I think it does have to be done. I have a 1989 K24 CRX. My Hondata is not picking up the CSS from my 2006 Civic SI transmission. My ECM is from 2004 Type S. I'm not sure what I need to do.

@jsrebuilds3951 Now, is that for the speedometer or the Hondata signal? Cause I just need Hondata to read my speed. My actual speedometer is cable driven. I figure that out later.

@@bobbydelamar606 Oh, I forgot that CRX are cable driven. So getting the cluster to read maybe a challenge. But I think you use the CSS convertor to get a signal at least to your Hondata. If you get your Hondata to read your speed correctly, you can download the Hondata speedometer app to read as your speedometer temporary until you can figure out what to do with your dash speedometer. Check out this video here we have a Hondata app. kzread.info/dash/bejne/iXZqrayqibO_fZs.html

I've done it 12 volts with a CSS convertor and Hondata will read it. You don't need 5 volts but a friend of mine who is an Electrical Engineer and confirm me that the device I'm using is perfectly fine. He also mention to me it doesn't hurt to give the sensor the required 5 volts it requires. So I did it just to be on the safe side. I know there are a few people on here commenting why would you use that 12v to 5v convertor when you could tap into another source on the vehicle. True but why even bother looking for one when this device only cost me $7 for the 12v to 7v convertor. My Electrical Engineer friend says this device is perfectly fine who builds similar devices like this one.

I have the same. It has aftermarket gears 1-4 and final drive. Speedometer doesn’t read speed, only rpm. No vss no vtec :/ Adding this 12v to 5v converter to the sensor would help my issue? Did you have a 2013 civic si ecu for the k tuned part to work? I’m not sure if it’s compatible with my ecu.

I'm using a Hondata Pro V4 2003 - 2004 RSX Type S ecu. The ktuned vss convertor is required for the 2003 - 2003 RSX ecu to read the speed and for the gauge cluster from dc, eg, ek to be able to read. I don't know if adding 12v to 5v converter would solve your issue. I don't know your exactly all your setup.

you totally could have just taken 5v and sensor ground from the TPS or another sensor on the engine the uses 5v
