I only signed up to Descript 2 days ago (altho have done in the past and found it way too confusing). I generated my own voice yet spent like the last 4-5 hours trying to edit text from the transcription and the audio part didn't pick it up, and just went over the changes without any changes, so I went on a research spree on Google and Descript website and also on here. Found your video expecting it to be like every other video and I was totally mistaken. Now after 4-5 hours wasting my time working stuff out, your video hit the nail on the head with things I want to use DeScript for. Thank you very much for this video :-) Hugely appreciated -)

I have always had hours of recording and editing my voice but I'm sure this video will save me great time. Website Learners, this is not just educative, it is realistically ingenious and suited to its purpose.

This is a great channel! I only caught sight of you folks in recent times, but it’s now among my favourite channels.

Thank you for such a thorough demonstration. Explanations were well-paced, the "tone" was interpreted as an earnest desire to share a cool feature, modestly, inclusively, and without judgement or shaming language. The visual, step-by-step was very helpful too!! 💯 I also liked that there was no hidden agenda, and anything which needed paid for was illuminated forthrightly. Being AuDHD, one of the ways I can best learn & absorb material includes a variety of options, usually simultaneously (audio, visual, hands on, etc.). Having things read to me while I'm engaged in other activities is how I enjoy expanding my knowledge for a lot of things & I often find it to be an irritating &/or arduous task when I've got text I want read to me and the option of audio isn't readily available. My pre-installed text-to-voice accessibility feature reads a LOT to me (in a slightly enhanced, yet- very robotic way). I'm grateful for the tool, the ability to have things read to me- especially since I'm also finding that as I'm aging, being able to see things has become a challenge. I find it frustrating though, with the need to select only paragraphs at a time to be read to me as I'm forced to either abandon whatever I'm listening to bc I'm unable to reselect new text to be read, forced to disconnect from whatever else I'm doing to reselect new text. I can deal with the robotic voice as my alternative option is to not have things read to me.. but I think it would REALLY help to mentally grasp things if I were hearing things read to me in a voice that mimics my very own inner voice, the one that's inside my head as I think, imagine, process things, etc. Another thing that I would find helpful is if this cool thing you've shared came in a handy app. I'm not one to drag my laptop around with me, drive with it, shop, go on hikes with it, etc.. so I'm definitely "Team Phone App" with this one. QUESTIONS: 1. Do you know if there's an app available? If there isn't one, have you heard anything about one being developed & maybe when it's availability to the public would be? 2. Do you know if there's an application process for those who would qualify for a reduced subscription? (For example: students, seniors, veterans, low-income, etc.) Thank you, once again, for sharing.. and optimistically.. for answering my questions! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Great video! I was really impressed by how easy it was to generate my own voice using text to speech technology. It's amazing to see how far this technology has come in recent years and how it can be used to make so many different tasks easier. Keep up the good work!

You have to record for 30 min to get good results. But 10 min works too. I remember 2 years ago online interactive story companies were hiring people for voiceovers. This is cool, because people can add voices to videos, stories, etc. I just hope it does not replace people. Like for jobs.

@@pasindupurnamal1947 I installed and pasted text. Select the artist and it starts downloading audio files. You can play and check if there are any corrections in edit mode. Finally you can publish to other apps or save as wav or MP3 to disk. Simply superb audio quality like real voice and re ads everything even Christian text fluently. Very impressive performance!

I have 2 questions. 1. Can you make the AI voice use inflections, say for certain phrases 2. Can you have multiple voices for one audio file? For example. I narrate creepypasta stories, and in many stories that I narrate, there can be multiple characters, male and female.

Only if you don''t use the stock voices as stock voices are obviously copyright in terms of KZread policy else you can get rights for the voice but with stock voice its never good to go so better create your own and you have no issues.

Hi Bryan, I overdub my voice and noticed that some words are miss-pronounced (really badly). I wonder if it is due to the 1000 words limit on the free plan or because the recording may have had some errors. Do you know if it is possible to re-submit a new audio to re-train the voice or should I think that the 1000 words limit is the problem? Thank you in advanced for your response.

While it would be a bit cumbersome (and can't be downloaded or saved), you could use your phone. Plenty of apps turn speech to text. Just start a new text message, click the microphone, play your audio, and your phone should type out what it hears.

In Ms Edge browser there is a good text to speech engine, really good one. Go to left right corner and drop the menu under the periods scroll further and lookup txt to speech. You can choose between various voices in language even. Also possible to read from pdf. Just create a pdf and open it in your browser and let the app read your text and use audio recorder to rip the audio. I had a subscription with a voice app online, although very good it is 50 dollar per 3 month or so for the premium version. I cancelled my subscr and are going to make my txt to voice in Edge the next time. Really the voices are great.

Good morning sir I have 2 doubts/ Qs on this software. You might have explain/ brief introduction about the software/AI, before starting the video. For example... The name I.e. a) Description. b) Which country & the name of the company etc. 1) Whether this works for English or for any language specifically for the main Indian languages? 2) what will be intial cost after exceeding of 1000 ? 2.1) That means the first use of 1000 words as and when completed. Or 2.2) 1000 words / day. If so, we can make 1000 per day. Am I right ? I would like to suggest / request that, it is better to summarise at last and if possible in Tabular form about the price & period or Plan like General, premium and etc. What they provide . The company can be easily googled. It is clear to me that there must be some AI which needs to be trained. I can also imagine that creating someone’s voice will be very expensive. I just think it‘s a bit odd that the platform needs your permission to use your voice (is it a manual process where people are involved?), that it needs 1 day to process the data (again, is it a manual process where people are involved?), and that the platform obviously does not allow to download the trained speech engine by itself then (it won’t explain the price). Always exporting the audio file for some specific text won’t be enough. At least not for me.

A few years ago, there was a website to generate your own handwriting or font. All they need was the alphabets in caps and lower case and 0 thru 9 and the punctuation marks. Now i cay type anything or converting anything into my own font which is my own handwriting. I use the fonts to send friends online greeting cards.
