Came here after seeing Fr Gregory's video in Ascenscion Presents about patience and I enjoy his humor 😂 And I have always qondered about how to gain indulgences outside of praying the rosary and novenas, which I do manage to do. thanks for this!

My favorite is the Pardon of Assisi. Divine Mercy Sunday is at hand, just remembered there are indulgence in this day too

I am so happy that I did all this Divine Mercy Sunday in order to merit a plenary indulgence for my mother who died a few years ago. This moves me very deeply. I did not treat her well and did not take care of her as I should have when she was dying, and I have confessed that and struggled with my sin. Thank you to the Church for these ways to salvation. Thank you both for being instrumental in us of enlightenment and salvation too

You guys are the best. I get the indulgence discussion and agree with what you had to say on the subject, but I’m a Catholic. How do we adequately communicate these truths to our Protestant brothers and sisters? They would go apoplectic at the idea of offering your indulgences for deceased relatives in purgatory. I have Calvinist relatives that wouldn’t know what to do with that. So I need some help in how to best communicate these truths. Thanks, and I appreciate your work and ministry very much. God Bless.

Fathers I have questions! Regarding attachment to sin. Is the honest desire to be completely detached from sin, praying for such detachment, etcetera, enough to merit an indulgence? Further I read that a confessor can commute a requirement - while I'd like to attend mass everyday I have two young children which makes it difficult. Would it be wrong to request that requirement be commuted in the hopes of meriting a plenary indulgence daily? Finally, for someone who has concentrated their spiritual goods to Mary do we have any right to request that indulgences be given for a specific soil or is it best to just let her apply it to the soul who needs it most? Or is that basically how it works anyway since we can only give them to a specific soul by means of suffrage?

Ohio... a state whose name is really only 3 letters, and yet a whole 3 syllables. Maine, on the other hand, is 5 letters but only ONE syllable. ...the main indulgence in Maine is weed, and lets you post completely useless comments like this one! 😁
