The Freestyle Forum is on a mission to teach the world how to freestyle rap!
There are people all around the world who love to freestyle rap and many others who wish they could learn. That’s why we created The Freestyle Forum - to bring together rappers of all backgrounds and skill levels, and help people take part in this amazing art form.
In recent years, big names like Harry Mack and Juice WRLD have set new standards for freestyle skills, while showing how popular freestyle artists can become. Even non hip hop artists like Marc Rebillet and ARIatHOME are incorporating freestyle rap in their performances. And now - thanks to technologies like Discord, Zoom, and Google Meet - people can host freestyle cyphers with rappers all over the world. The popularity of freestyle rap just keeps growing.
We believe there is a freestyle rap revolution happening right now, and we’d love you to join!

About me:
I’m Big Al, a freestyle rapper out of Boston MA.
I began creating improv music as a kid, playing blues on guitar and singing in a jazz band. About 10 years ago, I tried freestyle rapping and instantly fell in love. There’s nothing like the energy of a great freestyle cypher. I love kicking dope rhymes & passing the mic with others.
I’ve made many friends through freestyle rap over the years; at work, at school, and while traveling. Everywhere I go, I meet great people who love freestyling just like me.
A few years ago, I started to wonder how many people around the world shared my obsession for freestyle - that’s when I started The Freestyle Forum.

A lot tougher indeed!💯 5 minutes-a-day challenge accepted!😁
Another great one! Loving these drills
a fun challenge is to add a topic or theme like Harry uses the Battle Rap theme a lot to trash "all these other rappers" lol. Or whatever; cleaning your kitchen... In some way's it helps you hit bars better because it gives you something to visualize and lock into conceptually so your brain now has all this specific data to pull from while your associating the words in the drill to your theme; and then just let the story unfold and DON"T STOP. If you are constantly just letting the target word dictate the theme then your brain has to switch gears to a totally different idea every bar, which is good for flexing that brain muscle, but you also end up with 16 bars of totally disconnecting ideas with no theme. So mix it up!

There’s no app-version available yet, but we will be posting additional rhyme games in our Discord server for free, for anyone who wants more practice. The rhyme games in the Discord will be just the game, no commentary or tutorial.

How long do you think it takes a freestyler to reach flow state?
@thefreestyleforum
Жыл бұрын
Great question. I guess it depends on the freestyler. For someone like Harry Mack or Supernat, I’m sure it only takes minutes. In my experience, the flow state is entered once I feel “locked in” to the rhythm. Rhymes, wordplay, and everything else become easy once my rhythm feels natural. For that reason, I tend to focus on rhythm when I warm up. If I use a tool like the Rhyme Game, it helps speed up the process of locking into the rhythm. For me, a good 5-10 minutes with the Rhyme Game is enough to feel like I’m in a “flow state”. There is another level of flow-state which can take hours to enter, when everything seems to happen perfectly, without any thought or effort. To get there is much harder. I’m not sure I have the answers for that.
Where do I get it? Im 11 y/o and want to start freestyling

It’s difficult in the beginning, but it gets easier! Eventually, with 5-minutes of practice each day, you will get “in the pocket.” Then, you will really be able to think quickly
