Nice to see a professional using screws. I get so much shit from old timers for not using nails
@DeuceGenius
Жыл бұрын
You should use nails. Wtf. Lol. Screws take longer and you need to have a screw gun
@jonmallory8984

Screws pull it all together, it’s not structural, it’s a form. I’m no pro, but I recon you don’t need many screws, just big ones, so an impact driver(a decent drill can be faster apparently , some have anti kickback, but aren’t good at weird angles…) will do
You have a great assistant, team Tia and Mike ! Great job 👏

Only person on KZread I'd recommend
2x6 seems excessive unless you're partially filling with gravel.
It would be nice to have narration
Just like a Sandbox,, easy.

How did you set your string?
@DeuceGenius
Жыл бұрын
He does it in the center of the form to make it straight and sets height at the corners with laser I think. I use a pin with a string on it on the inside of my forms and use the string to represent height and straight.
Have you ever formed slabs with wooden stakes? If so, which would you recommend between wooden and metal stakes?

We cut scrap 2x4 in half then make then 12 to 36 long then make points. They work in most soil types until the ground is too hard

Metal stakes for sure, hands down

Wood stakes are nice and I prefer them but for the money wood stakes last maybe 2 jobs but metal will last hundreds of jobs if treated right
@OfficialReckM8
Жыл бұрын
@Jon Mallory Yeah we use wood stakes for all our jobs and they do only last a couple of jobs before you have to throw them away and make new one. But with the metal ones, they last forever but you're stuck with the size you bought. Sometimes we need 24" stakes and sometimes we need 40" stakes and wood can be cut to whatever length you need.
Hey it's square! Ha gj.
Keep those stakes plum
