How to Forge Twisted Door Pull REPLICA

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video, I forge a replica door pull based on a handle given to me by a friend. The material used is 1/2" square stock.
The music in this video was added mostly to reduce the ringing of the anvil. I need to remember to put the chain on the horn to stop that high-pitched ringing.

Your first try turned out pretty darn close. Your videos are fun to watch and make me feel like I'm in your shop with you. Music was fun on this one too. I kept thinking Clint Eastwood would show up at any moment.

Thank you. Still one of my favorite handles that I learned to forge.

Opposite twists are nice when you have two doors side by side.

It seems like every video I watch now is a new favorite. Honestly, your pulls look nicer to me than the other one. Great work. The family and I think you are awesome.

I duplicated your design and installed them on a set of bard doors. Thank you for the inspiration.

Making one piece alike is easy. Making several pieces alike is considerably harder!

Casting is ugly. The slight imperfections of hand forging is what makes it so valuable and beautiful in my book. Great job.

Thank you! I agree. Casting has it's place, but shouldn't always re-place a good forging.

How did it go? Apologies for the late reply, I was super busy preparing to leave for a year and didn't notice the last few comments until today.
