How to Focus in Fog
Ойын-сауық
Download My Composition Course - www.fototripper.com/store/com...
What secrets lurk inside the fog? Can we even achieve focus? Brent tries to short change me on a lucrative substance deal by dazzling me with his posh 'depth of field gauge' on the Fuji GFX50. I may or may not be impressed.
I almost break my leg again as my landscape photography dreams literally end up in a hole and we get into a heated scuffle over a locked door.
How many spiders webs can we dodge before taking one in the face? Will the fog EVER lift to reveal those epic mountains on the other side of the lake?
I even show you a cool little Photoshop trick as the icing on the cake. Why on earth don't I have 10 million subscribers?
So many nail biting questions and the only way to find the answers is to hit play, and then like, and then subscribe - unless you already subscribed - in which case don't touch that dial!

Yaddi!! we met Yaddi at Abraham Lake, the guy gets around. Herbert lake holds a special place in my heart, it was at this time of year perhaps 3 years ago that we first met. Do you remember Gavin? do you?

But Adam dressed and Gavin and Gavin dress as Adam.
Gavin. Hell. I've been taking pictures in all formats since, I dunno, 1966. My Olympic days are over, at least, physically. Some things now are a bit harder to do then it once was. Life happens. This, though, is fact: every time I watch your vlogs (and I watch all of them), you bring a smile to my face. I sense you are truly a solid guy; talented as all hell; charged with a drive to achieve and experience the marrow of life, and now blessed, it seems, with the love of of it. You are a great teacher of your craft; your know your stuff; you are immensity likable and, we, here grateful for what you do. Thumbs up. This post of yours, to me, shines a light upon how specially talented you are. Thank you for sharing you with us. Merci'

Thanks a lot Wally
You can tell it's going to be a good vlog when you hear the "I've got a face like..." gags.
Excellent! Particularly the Photoshop tip.
Oh, what a fine morning. A good cup of coffee and a fresh episode of the fototripper adventures. You guys were more lucky than me. I ´v been up ridiculous what is good for you early two sunday mornings because of they promised fog but the only fog I saw was from tired, fuzzy eyes.
Love the bird in the middle of the road. @7.05.. 😊
I think one of your next videos should be a greatest hits collection of "I have a face like..." clips!
God, I needed a dose of you today! In the last month I've had to repair my well at 2 grand, had two trees land on the house, and just found out I need a fuel pump at nearly 800 bucks. Not crying, laughing...thank you!!!
Awesome as always Gavin, thanks for sharing.
Your videos are so cool. They are an awesome combination of being hilarious, yet informative with the finishing touch of beautiful compositions. I like the fact that you are doing something different with your channel, it’s refreshing. I am surprised that you don’t have a lot more subscribers. I certainly appreciate the effort you put into your channel, thank you!
Awesome, great Photoshop tips as well, thanks
One of your best mate. Loved the behind the scenes stuff and 4x5 conversion. ✌🏻
Thanks for lifting my spirits mate!
I can't even figure out where to start with the video. Hahahahhaha so much funny amongst a bunch of good info, typical fototripper. :) Enjoyed the behind the scenes. Cool technique for the 4x5 conversion...
That was such a gorgeous shot! Found this video by chance and loved the way you made the whole video
"Back when I had no soul and used to use Instagram" Quote of the year! hahaha
I haven't commented enough on your films, that is going to change. The. mix of top instruction, tips and comedy is fantastic. Always look forward to watching to see what comedy capers we are in store for. The simple tip of use autofocus is often overlooked. And the word muff can never be overused. Thanks for sharing mate.
thank you Gavin!
The 4x5 was super.patience gets its prize!!!
Thanks Gav, makes me smile .... :-)

Nope, I literally went through and watched every episode throughout the winter. Now I await each episode!
Love all your video tutorials.
Love Herbert lake, one of my favorite spots for early morning mist and reflection shots. Always cool to see one of my favorite KZreadr's standing right where I have also stood!
Photography & a pea souper , lovely combo 👍🏻
Nice video Gavin! I like the 4 X 5 conversion. Slick operation, certainly fills the space well !
Beautiful picture....
excellent work really enjoyed
3x2 to 4x5 was slick trick. I will be giving it a try. Thanks
An image that was well worth waiting for mate. Funny as ever, well worth the wait. Thanks
Greetings from Italy!! Love your videos ;)
awesome picture .
Enjoyed the video! The video starting out with your comment about your face was so funny I had to pause the video and go get my husband to watch it with me. We could not stop laughing, hilarious! Thank you for showing us how you turned that beautiful composition from the 3 x 2 to the 4 x 5.
Enjoyed that man,and the editing tip..
Nicely done 👌
That was fun.
Making coffee on a tripod!!!🤣😂
lol, coffee kick, the only poison you need. Beautiful view and pic!
Holy shit! The image you got at around 17 minutes is absolutely stunning. One of my favourites from you! Good job Gavin, have a twirl on me!
How on earth do you transform a bunch of clips of us standing around doing nothing into an entertaining 20 minute video? I don’t know how you do it.

Terrific 👍🏽
Start to finish , absolute muck :-) good bargaining skills for the instant .. loved the banter the whole way thru .. new OSMO pocket 3 out today that has a wireless mic .. I expect to see it in your Arsenal soon !! Great episode pal
This was quite entertaining. :)
Love ur videos mate. Keeps me entertained 🤣🤘 I'm also a landscape photographer from the uk
Not afraid with that burner on the tripod!
Nice video Adam. ;-)
Thank God that you already got the shot before explaining us the comp! The scene was disappearing fast! ;-)
Great video, as always Gavin. I dont know if it was my feed or what though but there was more adds in it than bloody ITV! 🤣
Thanks really great
Entertaining as always and what a payoff image, too! This landscape photography vlogging is difficult, I got even more respect after trying it myself. Keep up the great work :)
i'd love to go take photos with this guys. This guys is so funny
That's awesome, with your appropriate "headware" you match your camera with the dead cat on it :). Great video as usual.
Great shot, as always! I wished we had mountains. It’s so difficult to find a beautiful landscape in our country. There is always some windmill sticking it’s nose in your picture. No, just kidding’. ;-) or not. Love Carla (from the Netherlands)
Great video as always! And just want to say, I have both of the Composition Courses and love them!! And thanks for the photoshop tip. I have to go try that one. :)

Love your hate for Instagram haha
Morning coffee is key! I have switched to First Ascent Instant...its awesome
Keep Brent around for the content advice. I like seeing how it's all put together. Although Brent needs to record some true b-roll BTS with video of you talking to the camera. I've never used the Osmo but the size/quality balance from the Pocket appears impressive.
Epic shot there Gavin. Those mountains are fantastic. Here, all I have got is a landscape that resembles the outside area where the Teletubbies live. Grassy mounds. Glad to see I’m not the only one who has puffy eyes like a bag of spanners on a 6am shoot. Off up Glastonbury Tor tomorrow to photograph the view and to shoot some hippies and druids, with my camera of course.
Awww I was hoping you got a GFX system! That last shot was awesome. Good job!

Great episode Gavin, the 4x5 is definitely a much nicer image!
I laughed so hard when you tried to snort the coffee from the pack - I've wanted to do that! :)
I immediately hit like but at 3:05 I knew I had to subscribe 😂👍
waiting and waiting paid off.. lovely shot. nice transform to a 4x5 too.. for a moment.. i thought this video was going to turn into a Seinfeld episode like the "Can you spare a square" one with Elaine & the toilet paper lol whew.. so glad you took it in a bit different direction.
Legend! I’ve driven from east of Edmonton to jasper and home after sunset lol

The drive of dedication
Please do a what's in my bag video ? or a backpack tour ? especially accessories, headlight ... etc
I love the behind the scenes stuff too. That's mostly how I film my videos on location too but I use my iPhone too much....which makes my videos look like I'm using a tripod made of Jello. I'd love to see a behind the scenes of how you edit videos - that shit takes forever.
you pretty much read my mind specially when i saw two spider webs earlier before the 16:00 mark and thought he should find a spider web to compliment the shot but should spray the web with a light water mist
Patience along with humour (and no end of skill) - result!! Nice rapport with Yazi (sorry if I got your name wrong man) Top entertainment Gav , thankyou

I agree. Just a professional all the way. Hard work, humor, nice to other people(pretends he's tough). Deserves everything he gets. That's my opinion. Oh, and I don't think there could possible be a prettier mtn. range. I've driven through the Canadian Rockies, I need to do it again slower.
Best use of your ultra expensive tripods in 2020. I would love to see how Brent uses his tripod for other household stuff.
Nice video, funny thing just before you posted your video I was using my brand new peakdesign to hold the light on my BBQ, and is the first time used
Another inspiring video... although no Vera :-( certainly agree with the 4x5 version superb shot and thanks for the quick tutorial. :-)

Great shot! and you are so lucky you didn't break a foot or worse putting your foot in the hole.
Its funny, I was thinking about moving the foreground up in post to eliminate a little of the dead space when you first showed the composition and then you actually end up doing it! 🤯

Coffee killer 😧☕
You looked as if you were about to steal Yaddi's camera ! Great video hats oft to ya :-)
Me laughing when Brent looks down and rolls his eyes, and my wife wondering why there's loud laughter from the home office.........
Cool stuff, just knew that spiders web would be making a reappearance as a fg element once you’d teased it via the b roll lol

I'm watching this whilst sitting in my car drinking coffee waiting for the sun to rise at the beach. It's not happening though ☹️ so glad to at least see some quality photography on here rather than out there.
Ha very entertaining .....great shot after all. I think I liked the composition and picture before you doctored it up in P S. Where was the Mrs. today? 😬
Wow, so you found the guy that subscribed to your channel and hit the thumb up. What were the odds? :)
Great video! Glad I found your channel. You guys are funny. I think I would of stopped to Starbucks
Hmmm Gavin There is a mistake in your title. It should say "Creepy Landscape Photographer* in Fog" Instead it says Landscape Photography. Just tryin to help you out, another awesome video man! :P

''Absolutely no discount'' LOL!!
Hard rules for business. No discounts & no chocolate! I'm a little jealous of that pano set up. Can't get them anymore. I tried going back to their site about 3-4 times in the last3-4 weeks & am in disbelief. Could probably get-er done with a gimbal set up from some other. Bummer I really like their products which seems to be dwindling.
Stayed glued to my seat the entire video. I'm an educator and you should know there are university trained educators who wish to have your natural ability. Just received my FLM CP38-L4 II Tripod. I'm going with an Acratech panoramic head for longer lenses and a half-ball leveler handle (I agree with Thomas Heaton on the ease of this setup). What half-ball leveler have you used on your FLM, if any? Thanks for sharing your experience and photography insights.

Oh, I thought I saw one with a silver handle on the FLM tripod with the gimbal for photography. No matter. It's just easier for my hands (injured on active duty).
Must have next fix.
Those flowers would make a great foreground though.
Hi Gavin: I really liked this video. I liked the comedy relief along with your acknowledge of a Fototripper follower. Well done! Finally, thanks for sharing your tips on making a 4 x 5. Keep Covid-19 safe . . . keep shooting . . . and keep creating! Cheers, Keith (Ontario, Canada)
Just subscribe, funny guys and great video. Thanks.
Have you seen the new dji pocket pro 2, it has a wireless mic now looks sick, and wide 20mm lens.
I bought Kicking Horse coffee because of you. I’m a wimpy medium roast drinker, so it’s Three Sisters for me. Another fantastique video, Gavin. You’re one of my faves, but don’t tell Uncle Grumpy. 😉
