@@MollysMum-A.K. Laika was 13LB to 14LB and about 25” tall at time of travel, he couldn’t stand in his carrier either but he was able turn around inside of bag comfortably. So as long your pup seem comfortable and turn around I think you may be good 👍 My experience with delta grand staff was very simple! They just glance at Laika already inside of carrier and asked me “is he comfortable?” . And it was done.

@@pawsvoyage7625 Yes from what I have heard Delta is the most pet friendly airline. Lufthansa, the German one is good too. So our dogs are pretty much the same size and weight. We have done a two hour flight with Lufthansa songstress but will fly internally in 2023. Thanks for the fast response!

Excellent video Thanks Laika for being a good doggel. I'm worried I have 3 ESA cats to transport and was told I can only check one so I have to pay two other people to escort with me on plane this is stressful situation.

Hi. Thank you for watching our video. I read somewhere in my research, As long as same breed of dogs can be travel in one carrier in a flights as long as under it airline’s weight limits. I am not sure what is the limits of cats is but maybe if you can reach airline to ask if you can at least fly with 2 of cats in a carrier maybe save some$$$?

GREAT video. We are headed to Korea first time with our pup 10lb Yorkie. She hates to travel even in a car. Probably can't take CBD with us.

Were you able to put the wheel base in an overhead compartment? Worried since Delta says the pet carrier is the carry-on but it won’t fit under the seat while attached or otherwise. Great video and cute doggo!! 😁❤️

Thank you for watching. So my pet carrier was small enough to fit under the seat(back pack style). I used small suite case(within delta regulations)to wheel him around for airport transfer. Delta didn’t stop me with one carry on suitcase plus dog carrier as personal item. Plus I had very small waist bag(funny pack) under my jacket I don’t think they noticed.

Hello! My Jack Russell fits in the carrier, when he stands he is very tall but fits fine when laying down. Do you know what's your dog's height and do they inspect if he can stand comfortably with lid closed when checking in?

He was 13lb to 14lb and about 25” tall at the time of travel. He could not stand straight inside of his carrier but he was able to turn around inside! I did train him to turn around inside of carrier on command, just in case airline stuff may question his comfort within carrier but they were nice so I didn’t have to prove if Laika can conformably turn around within carrier or not.

This was such a thorough and informative video to help prepare for traveling with a dog. How much do your dog weigh? I’m traveling with my beagle mix (~20 lbs) for the first time in a few days.

@@Rosemarie-ld5ymI’ve traveled with my dog a couple of times now! We have flown on delta, southwest, and United. All have been pretty easy. Some planes the carrier was difficult to get fully under the seat, like if there is an outlet box or something. We used a sherpa carrier. I’ve heard good things about the sturdy bag pet carrier but my dog doesn’t tolerate that one as well. I give my dog a bone or treats every few minutes during takeoff and landing to help with his ears and the pressure changes. Check in staff have never weighed my dog or really checked him for that matter. And on the plane, if you have chill seat mates and flight attendants, you might be able to unzip the top of the carrier to comfort your dog after takeoff. My dog is pretty chill all the time luckily but if your dog gets a little more nervous, see your vet about getting some trazadone (doggy chill pills). I think with trazadone you’re supposed to test it out with your dog prior to flying to look for any possible adverse reactions.

Yes! It is TSA rule to keep them in crate whole time. But some nice crew didn’t mind leaving it open as long as dog stayed calm in crate

Thank you for watchings! It is TSA rule to keep dog inside of crate for duration of flight, but some nice crew member maybe nice enough to let you check on your dog time to time. Check with crew member on duty.

I'm preparing my pup to travel with us to Italy. She's crate trained but hates the carrier so far. She doesn't even accept treats when she's in the carrier. She just freezes😕

Ohh no. Before I introduce carrier to Laika with treat. I left carrier in Corner every room we were in( I left carrier most door open) Sometime I put his blanket and some time I put his toy.. once he got curious enough sniff inside then I stated giving treat.

I have a 7 lb puppy. Do you think she'd be able to fly in the cabin with me in a carrier? I wanted to fly to visit my parents soon and im not sure if she'd fit if she gains a few lbs lol

7lb is well under most airline’s limits. You should be able to fly in cabin. Laika was 14lb in that video. And he is now 15lb we just flew to Boston with southwest no problems.

As soon as you make your flight reservation, call airline to add dog reservation to yours. Definitely arrive early to check in. I also called every accommodations ahead too let them know your bringing dog(s).

I believe he was 13-14lb at the time. All airline did for us was check weight and size of carrier. Asked if he was comfortable inside carrier and if he have necessary vaccinations. They didn’t even ask us pull dog out side of carrier.

Delta are dog haters and I was denied with my dog who was in the proper carrier, Caroline at Logan airport Boston needs re training
