    Yeah not like he's recording himself and putting it on the internet, definitely wouldn't want to make himself look better. All car flippers are the same, cheap bandaid fixes then put up for market value as if there's nothing wrong. Just the same thing as used car dealerships. Scummy little scammers, all of them. Not to mention they take all the cheap cars and inflate the market with trash boxes.

    I guess somewhat realistic if just trying to flip the truck, but putting in cheap parts that fail in a year or less is a risk in itself, not to mention how many specialized tools you need to complete and diagnose any job that would actually lead to some profit

  • @techwiz2410

    @techwiz2410

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@RiverValleyLandscaping I agree with you.. the other thing I noticed from painting my own car is that if you spent less than 100 on your paint and 100 on your clear to do that job (if not more in chemicals) I can guarantee that paint will come off in less than 6 months. I understand it was already pre primered and that's ok.. but basecoat and clearcoat is very expensive if done correctly.. That's also using a 2k multi stage paint not a 1k cheap junk paint.. and if it was sprayed with a rattle can paint.... I feel for the new owner as this in nothing but a band aide... I'm mechanically inclined myself and it does take a good tool to find all of these problems with the vehicle. I give cudos to the creator for being inventive with finding the ECU company and ABS module... and honestly all parts anymore are made a bit junky... no matter if it comes from the dealer.. but I have to mention the poor paint job.. I'm repainting my entire 370z car and would never do what was done here.. unless I wanted to repaint it again in less than 6 months. I can assure that the hood that costed 200 should be the cheap part.. the paint and clear should cost more than that hood... I've good buddys that paint for a living and spend 500 on a gallon of paint and 550 on a gallon of clear.. and thats still not the most expensive..... I realize also you dont need a full gallon.. but would take a quart minimum.. since you're not buying it in a bulk amount (by the gallon) the quart would cost more say $100 in basecoat. plus you still have to buy the reducer and activator for some paints... then the clearcoat is approx 100 plus the activator another 75 to 100 there.. Yea.. again.. I like the video and don't mean to bash at all.. but the paint part..... is unrealistic.. or just not quality.. whichever it is or both...

    One note to add, depending on the scan tool or code reader you use, and of course the vehicle you're looking at, it is possible to CHECK the mileage on a vehicle where the odometer is not displaying. A lot of GM vehicles of this vintage (trucks, Tahoes, Suburbans, Century, Impala and others) will develop this same problem and being able to see the odometer reading stored in the ECM can confirm a claimed mileage reading (or you'll find out the seller is WAY off, which can be good or bad)

    Really enjoy watching your content my man, you do great work with great details of all of it!! This is exactly the type of things I wanna start doing soon as I can get some money for a scan tool and maybe few other items before going with it. I've always been around this type of stuff growing up with my step-dad doing it but that was also before technology came as far as it has but im coming up on 40yrs old and just tired of working for someone to help them be successful and this is something I wish I had started doing so much sooner in life, unfortunately I just wSnt in the position to do so till about a yr ago. That all said im open to all and anyone's advice to help me become successful in taking the next step towards my dreams of working for myself, once again great content and thank you for sharing your experiences!!

Running into all these problems... Can turn into a headache at some point. I'm sure when by the time your finish fixing up one of these vehicles you are exhausted. Not a easy job when doing all the work by your self. Well done... Keep up the hard work 💪

    You did an excellent job all around on the truck and the video. Bought a well-used black 03 Silverado Z71 with decent wheels and a shell for with 270k for $2000. I let seller tell me his price but he didn't know the crazy high used prices. Gave him a cash deposit and and wrote bill of sale on a paper scrap. Much regret from the seller later on when I went to close out the deal and pick up the truck. Now they have gone even higher. Like usual, it just needed some TLC and it's-new-to-me energy from a new owner. I found the best way clean spilled-on carpet and get rid of that old truck stench is just pull the carpet out and pressure wash it along with the padding. Then hang it to dry out in full sun for a couple days

    This is what I do on the side. I usually stick around the 2-3k price range for my self when buying and usually invest 1k minimum. Usually sell for about 6-7k. I always set aside the profit, then go back in again with the original 2-3k. Easy 10-12k profit a month if you can roll one every week.
