How to: Flat Twist the Back | Braids For Beginners | Nakawunde
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Hey everyone,
This video is focusing on how to flat twist the back of my head, and it's beginner friendly.
My hair is in a slight braidout, but the technique is the same with wet hair, blowdried hair, straightened hair, natural hair and different curl patterns.
A little break down of the steps are:
-use a tail comb to divide the hair you want to flat twist and pin the rest away.
-start with two small sections by your hairline and cross them over each other
-one hand with twist the hair
-while you use the other hand (thumb and finger) to grab some more hair to add to the flat twist
-cross the two strands over each other and repeat

I literally just got the hang of basic flat twisting and decided to give the updo a try and i got it in one go and i feel so happy, thank you so much
I haven't braided the back of my hair up in a very long time. But now that i have OA (oster arthritis) that would b a bit difficult now. But it's looked beautiful. What I like abt this style is it's elegance. If u are attending a wedding or some kind of function; or even ur simply going 2 the movies, this style just works. Add some hair jewelry & voila!
Who gave this a thumbs down??? This video is fantastic!!!!!! Her hair is beautiful

People like me who can't flat twist no matter how hard they try
how comes all the other videos make this look so rocket science. i got it the first time i tried it!!! girl if you were here, lunch today would have been on me. Thanks a million!
this is probably the best i've ever seen. most folks just say, "part the hair and twist up and just add hair each time" I understand that but I'm a lefty and a lot of the tutorials about proper hand placements don't work for me. if you just tell what I'm supposed to do with my fingers, i can understand that better. this video is a great example. thank you so much
This is the BEST tutorial I have ever seen on how to flat twist the back going up and I have been an avid natural hair KZread watcher for over 5 years! Great job!

Thanks for the video. Gonna try this out today. I love how simple you made it. Most flat twist videos I come across always have bad lighting so I wouldn't even be able to see it clearly. I'm more of a visual learner lol
This is so beautiful.

Very nice. Clear & easy to understand! I might even attempt it! Thank you.🙏🏾
I have to try this on my own hair. I hope it comes out as nicely as hers.
Thank you so much for this awesome video! Your hair is #goals! I have been wanting this style for so long and can't find anyone to do it. The natural black salons that actually do this is about 2 hours away and charge between $80 to $120. I am going to try this today. Thanks again sis!

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is really helpful for me seeing that I've been struggling with trying to achieve the upward motion. Your hair is beautiful and well moisturized. What do you use and how often do you wash your hair. I've grown tired of my hair but I'm trying to do better.

Do u hot comb to make your hair soft
my goodness, what do you use on your hair young lady?
I love your channel! do you feel that your hair works best when its styled on dry/blown out hair vs wet? and do you always use a blow dryer to stretch it?
@nakawunde5183

Hi Tiffany, thanks! I find it's quicker to style my hair when dry however that does mean spending time drying my hair in the first place so maybe not if i really think about it. lol. the main issue I have if I style on wet hair, is managing the shrinkage, so I have to section it a lot more. Also it will start to airdry so i'm forced to either rush my style or re-wet it... I don't always blowdry, sometimes I do some braids or twists to stretch my hair as it dries. x
Thanks for this tutorial !! I am going to try :)

Sha Richardson moisturize your hair really well and detangle before beginning. Take your time and detangle from the bottom up. It will save a lot of pain. It will be slow at first, but will go faster as you perfect the technique.
Wow.your a muganda sweetheart.
