How To Fix Your Forehand Spacing

👁️ FREE TENNIS VISION STARTER PROGRAM - tennishacker.krtra.com/t/HVU4...
Being too close to the ball on your forehand or too far away both cause problems with the kinetic chain. Spacing is one of the most important issues you need to fix if you want to be able to hit with power, spin and consistency.
In this video I show you a 3 step process to fix your forehand spacing even if you’ve been struggling with it for years. Addressing your spacing will help you cut down on unforced errors and help you turn your forehand into a weapon.

Wow, finally someone address not just the distance issue and how to improve it but you also provided the steps to train. This is very good guide I am taking to the court for weeks until it is in my DNA. Please do a video on approaching short balls as well. I try to do a small hop but many times the balls end up too close to my body, low and way in front. It is like I am late running to them and out of position when I get to them. How to train and improve this issue?

Very succinct and concise demonstration I've ever seen on KZread! Sir, in the future, can you demo proper spacing for one hand or two hand backhands? Look forward to more future videos from you.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the lesson. The approach is going to be the same on the backhand, but the footwork drills obviously look different. If you check out my last video on one handed backhand, it goes through footwork.

Thanks for another important, lucid training! I discovered this treasure of a tennis channel a couple of weeks ago, and have been delving into the neurovisuals as per your course . . . and it’s made a real difference!! I’m tracking the ball much better and spacing has improved, too. So far I’ve gone back and listened and notated all your other vids. Just wondering, why did you start re-learning with your left limb; it seems a curious thing to do?

Thank you. Glad you are already noticing the benefits from the vision training. The cool thing is that because of how neuro plasticity works, you can continue to improve your visual skills if you keep progressing the training. I initially started left handed after separating my right collar bone mountain biking . I can still play right handed, but I can’t see it lasting forever. So i’m covering my bases 😀 I can’t lie, the first six months were exhausting. But it’s been a great learning experience to help me understand what players go through starting as an adult.

I've been working on my spacing recently. Great video, thanks. I have a tendency to swing parallel to the ground which results in a lot of my shots being very flat. I've been working on starting low, pushing forward, and finishing upwards for more spin. And what you said about focusing on one thing until it's right, would it make more sense to do the things in this video before revamping my swing? Thanks. Keep up the great work!

So you’ve had to n either train your dominant eye or your non dominant eye to get better at striking with your left hand or do you hit one open stance and one closed with b a different head position?

Are you learning to play left-handed to compensate for an injury or as an exercise to break down the fundamentals of tennis to better teach them to others or for some other reason?

  • @TennisHacker

Originally it was because of an injury mountain biking. But it turned into a very good learning tool about the fundamentals. So hopefully it’s helped me teach them more effectively.

I’m confused by your comment. I laid out a 3 step process: - Make it a focus in practice - Train visual processing so you can read where the ball is going - Train footwork patterns If you do those three things, it will help your spacing. Would you prefer I make up a “tip” and claim is solves everyones problems?
