I had the same problem with mine! This worked for a few years. Then it would only work in the winter, would die for the whole summer, then reappear like some sort of Acura Navigation Groundhog proclaiming, "I am here! For three weeks because we're in Florida and Winter does not exist here!" Then promptly ghost me for another 9 months. The hitting would sometimes coax this temperamental beast from its slumber, but one day the old girl went to sleep, and dreamed infinitely of that starry screensaver forever more.

Just saw the video and my screen was locked up and a few taps on both sides and it worked. Thank you buddy.👍
