Hey guys - I know this issue has been circling around for a long time now. I have this similiar issue, only with Windows 2016 Server. IT appeared to start following an MS update. Now, we get to the lock screen and no matter what we do, it never gets us to a login prompt by pressing enter, ctl-alt-del , etc. The server is running fine. It still allows users to login to the domain, print services and file shares still work - Did I mention that this is a Domain Controller? any words of wisdom would be GREATLY appreciated!

I tried all of these. Nothing worked. It doesn't show my login screen its just a blurry background. It started after I reset my network

on my login in page / welcome page the background is just pure blue it used to be something else before i got a error pls hel[

I changed my font and after that I restarted the computer than after I came to lock screen but i am facing a problem where my lockscreen poping again and again after I click on it ...it's gives me no option and if I click on screen it's pops up again like new lock screen

The new August update went out and I left my computer sleeping, not turned off, for about 24 hours. After turning it on, I would just click the welcome screen like usual, and then it just froze. It didn’t show me an option to sign in or anything. After about 2 minutes, the monitor loses signal the computer. I have no idea what happened.

Kunal Lakra I have the exact same issue, it shows the welcome screen but it never shows the box to type in the password and the shift+restar won’t get me into troubleshoot or any other options, it simply restarts. You’d think Microsoft would be responsible for their own mess but here we are...

@@Giacn11 Same thing happened to me last week! Left my laptop on sleep-mode in the morning and came back home that night to see that my laptop won't boot up anymore. It always freezes at the welcome screen without displaying my name/pw but it still displays the language icon, wifi signal and power button at the corner. The mouse moves but it is unresponsive. Hope someone finds a solution to this ASAP

I did the very same thing , copied a code n changed the font , then restarted the pc to change d font to d new one , n it's stuck at the lockscreen n it's not even showing d password entry option

The problem I am having is I can not get my mouse courser to show up on my frozen screen to do the shift/start. I did the 3 clicks did get into the setting screen and did all safe modes f4, f5, and f6 and still when it comes back on, my mouse arrow does not work, and my sign in line does not show. After I type my password Windows is saying "Welcome" and visually loading (not "hardstuck") for THREE HUNDRED SECONDS (5min). This started happening randomly after some Windows update, probably 1903 but I'm not 100% on that. After I've updated to new versions 2-3 times so any problems would've been fixed... I'm now on the latest Windows 10 version. Before this "Welcome" screen obviously took a couple of seconds only. Startup repair couldn't fix any problems, have not checked the log yet. All the googling I'm doing to find a solution to this leads to generic, bullshit unrelated problems. Any tips? 😐

I NEED HELP ! so i bought this laptop off of my cousin before she left to the air force she gave it to me with all her information and everything still on the computer and gave me her password to log in but just yesterday i decided to reset the whole computer because all her files were just taking up space i dont know if i did something wrong because when i reset it it took almost 2 hours till it finally reset and it took me to the login screen wallpaper thing and it was asking me for a username and password i was so confused because i thought once i reset it it was gonna delete all passwords and usernames and i dont know her username or anything she just gave me the password that it would ask me everytime i turned on the computer i tried looking at so many youtube videos and all of them say the same thing "press shift then restart blah blah blah" no matter how much i do it it still asks me for a user and pass and now i cant get into it so basically it has no use in till i can get in i cant contact my cousin any more and so idk if i am doing something wrong can someone please help 😭 !

This happened to me last year. I couldn't log in at all, even into safe mode. I could only get to command prompt (X: drive). I ended up doing a re-install. Is there a way to solve it via the command prompt option, just in case it happens again one day?

Hello please help... My laptop lock screen move by itself up and down then the touchpad also can't work..

Have you tried to interrupt windows 3 times? It should take you to safe mode

Worked for me the safe mode uncheck ✅✅✅

Don't show me any options and when run safe mode show me windows defender offline screen

Its absolutely maddening that many of us can not get to safe mode and no one understands this. All the methods to get to safe mode are not working. This is the second time I have been stuck on the login screen where it is an endless loop that does not allow me to enter my password, i have no power options in the lower right corner. The way I fixed this previously was to go back to before the update but now somehow even though I turned off windows update it updated again and here I am stuck. Now this time it will not go back to the previous version. This is insane that microsoft is this poorly run.

@@The_Milio I've found the only way to get out of it is to somehow get into windows RE and then remove most recent quality updates....i cant undo feature updates because it never works....however for the third time now after undoing the updates....then logging in normally and shutting off all updates within a week it has installed the update on me yet again without asking if I wanted it when I booted up yesterday. Now here I am again trying to get into Windows RE to undo the updates and can not even force it into that. How can windows have such a faulty situation like this. Its incredible that I have to keep wasting my time fixing their problem.

@@The_Milio and to update I just now fixed this again by going into the windows re screen after forcing it with restarts, then removed the quality features update. After removing this update this is fixed. The problem is windows is going to keep forcing the updates no matter what I do.

I've gone through the video, but my keyboard or mouse doesn't work when start wallpaper screen comes up and doesn't bring up the pin or password box. I can get into diagnostic, but still get back to same screen. The only thing I haven't tried yet is a reset, as I was hoping to get it fixed.

@@ducky2596 I did the reset and didn't change anything for me either. Tried everything from lots of different tutorials, but none worked. Luckily through my network, I managed to get any important information from the pc using a laptop and I do have most things backing up to a nas drive. My PC, when bought was Windows 8.1 but all set up for auto update to Windows 10 as soon as I got it home. So I did a re install using the original usb flash drive that came with it, but that was still Windows 8.1, then updated to Windows 10. This then caused other issues of browsers like Google and Firefox not working, I contacted Microsoft support regarding this and they took remote control of my PC to resolve the issue, they couldn't sort it. I suggested that maybe the issue was because I've upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 and they agreed, that could be the problem, so I downloaded the Windows 10 install file from there site and re installed with Windows 10, everything now works a treat. I have spoke to a few people who had the same issue as me and they also had upgraded from Windows 8.1.

*I did the method as said in video, it boots me back to the original Windows state (back how I was) - and won’t let me boot into safe mode after pressing ‘4’. When I do that on the Low-Res display, it gives me a big delay & boots me back to the loop.

I am stuck on welcome screen it just say welcome not to put password and i cant do anything

I have issue #1. I turned on/off three times and every time it goes back to the start menu. In here it does not matter what key I hit, it will jump up but will not let me put my password in. ctrl + alt + delete does not work. I even tried F11 to reboot and nothing.

I have touchscreen HP Envy.... After HOURS and Hours, I touch the bottom of the screen and scrolled up like a cell phone. Then the enter your password box appeared 😶🙄

I have a slightly different lock screen issue that is happening to me. Safe mode does not seem to resolve it. I am befuddled as to what to do to resolve it. If I hit spacebar, or click with my mouse it will briefly show the user account that it is trying to log in and then bounce back to the welcome picture and do the same thing if I tap a button (mouse or keyboard) over and over again. There is no opportunity to enter a password when this ugly behavior exhibits itself. Any one know of a solution to this problem? If I recall it rears it's ugly head even in safe mode, that is if you can even get to safe mode.

@@duniyatop5252 The only way I've been able to solve said issue is to disable the auto login after update option in Win 10. Any time this issue has occurred I have had to reinstall Windows from scratch.

If ur search is not working in safe mode press Window key and r and write msconfig

I can’t get my mouse to work, keyboard doesn’t work and the battery causes the laptop to turn off and on even when charging. I can rarely get into diagnostics and when I do it doesn’t let me do anything really. Now my laptop is completely worthless and I’ve been using iPhone and android phones to use WiFi witch is utter shit compared to having a computer. Been like this since the original update occurred way back when and I thought the motherboard died. What do I do I’ve been looking for answers- I don’t have the money to take it in. I think in the end allot of people got royally fucked in the ass on this. This video was not helpful and misleading

In my case it's stuck at the welcome screen and it won't let me use the mouse or keyboard . @@stefandorobantu4420 ultimately ended up being a bad boot drive and had to replace it...had multiple power outages and surge protector only does so much. Fried my mvme M.2 ssd

Restart computer and after Restarting click quickly Ctrl+Alt+Esc it will work with you guys
