It is great that you noticed and tore it down. Nevertheless there are two little thing to this: That is a 121°C thermal fuse. It is there to avoid the car from burning, in case the lighter's bimetal switch doesn't trigger, ie it is indeed very important (I am not German, so this is not overrating safety. It is a real concern). The amount of heat and sparks (when driving) which that loose connection can generate under load (let's remember it is a 15A fuse) is no joke. I'd rather solder it, the heat down there won't ever be big enough to de solder it, unless the car is actually burning.
Just did this fix, and my new Dab+ adapter is finaly working. Thank you for this.

Thanks for this, it enabled me to get the cigarette lighter working on my 2007 Corolla. I soldered in a bridge wire. Interestingly, before I did the fix a bluetooth/FM adapter was just able to work because the current was small enough that it managed to find a circuit through the light attached to the socket and then out through the other car lights to ground. But as soon as I turned on the lights it stopped working! And of course if I tried to draw more current, such as trying to charge a phone, it would not work. Now it's all good, just like a new one!
