Mine went from 3 mbps to 400 mbps but not from this video now what i did was update the bios but its risky cause sometimes it glitches and doesn't let you out of the bios so its your call if you wanna try and f it does work go in steam setting and try a few of these methods mabey they will work

I got a brand new pc yesterday and when im downloading fortnite the download speed is average 120kb/s and sometimes drops to 0kb/s i have a quite good internet so what should i do?

Bro google exists for a reason. But you could also just try it out and see whoch region is faster, cause sometimes the closest region isnt the fastest when msybe theres too mich people using tje closest region and youre better off picking a region that further away but with less traffic

I have a $4000 pc I built and it runs better then a ps5 and a Xbox series x combined and I own a Xbox series s and I can download a 30gb game within 20-30 min while on pc that shit takes 3-5 hours or more. Idk why it’s weird. Sometimes the downloads on my pc are fast but most the time it’s not.

I was getting roughly 68mb/s but recently it went to 13 on average I already contacted my internet company, they said it was fine I was wondering if you had any clue what was going on?

doesn't work for me, I've have the download speed problem since the end of April, it starts high for a few seconds and then it drops down. a speeds test shows its not my network download 706.14 Mbps upload 807.66 Mbps

why does my steam options screen look much different

I have 320Mbps internet speed, so 40MBps, in steam it says that I am downloading at 7.8MBps, but in reality it’s downloading at 0.9MBps…. It takes around 18-20 min to download 1gb what should I do help

Its steam thats the entire issue if you download a 15 gig off steam 11 hours off epic games 20 maybe 30 minutes

Steam is using most of my MBits but the other mbits are just nto being used at all

None of those worked for me. Years ago I was downloading on steam with 15-20mb/s, got through some internet speed upgrades over time and it very rarely reaches 30, often dropping below 15. Meanwhile downloading on Origin I never go below 60mb/s while staying at around 80mb/s rather consistently.

i have an ssd and 1 gig internet fast asf it will start downloading at like 80 90 or even 100 MB/s then drop down to 1MB/s doesnt do this with any other launcher ive cleared cache ive switched servers no help. yet i go to my external hard and different story even though my ssd is fast asf

My problem is that after Steam changed the GUI of the downloads it takes a lot more time than it used to and I do mean with exactly the same download speed. Why does it say that download is 500MB, and when you start it it says that it is 20GB and then another number next to that which is even higher... I wanted to update a game with that 500MB update now earlier and it said that it would take 45 *_MINUTES_* to complete, like what the... I got a 50/50Mbit connection and nothing wrong with the internet today, and it did show full speed on the download. That's why I'm just frustrated with it all because game updates and downloads worked fine for years on end, until they started with this shit. As it is right now I got no clue of what the size of any update actually is, nor why it takes so god #¤%#¤ long. I also tried to paused it half way and when I wanted to start it again, it started from the beginning so a new 45 minute timer. Happened another time as well so no more Steam today because I've had it...

Yeah, something happened right. In early January, I downloaded "A Way Out" (21.04 GB). Took like max 30 minutes. Now I'm here and downloaded 10GB in three hours. Like what? Download speed pending from 350kB/s to 30MB/s. Mean while doing a speedtest I have 915 Mbps down and 934 Mbps up. Why would Steam do this?

There is a Win 10 & 11 bug that limits download and upload. This is what worked for me. I spent hours researching what to do, and just copy and paste this in command prompt one line at a time, and it WILL fix it if you had the same windows bug that I had. (You might have to enter it again after a couple updates. Apparently windows still doesn’t realize it yet…) NETWORK FIX Win 10 & 11 ipconfig /release ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /renew and press Enter. (This will stall for a moment.) netsh int ip reset and press Enter. (Don't restart yet.) netsh winsock reset netsh interface tcp show global netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=normal

I've been tearing my hair out for days, trying every fix under the damn sun to solve this issue, and this is what finally worked for me. I guess at some point it got disabled. I went from 6MB/s back to 50MB/s.

None seemed to work, don't know why my Download goes from a 12m download to 8 hours.

One issue causing this is that you might be downloading games on a Hard-Disk Drive. The only way to fix this is move a game to a Solid-State Drive (if you have one).

@@damnpuru had the same problem with steam, it's an easy fix, first make sure you're on the right server, and then clear the download cache (beware it's gonna log you out of steam) that fixed my issue with steam

these didnt really work for me. neither did deleting cache(which only made it so I had to restart my download from scratch lol)

changing regions actually helped! I was Australia - Perth getting highest mbps 20 than switched to Australia- Sydney which got me to 30mbps!

Bro I jave been downloading fifa23 for 5 days and everyday ot downloads 1 gb

My second account downloads at 360mbs but on my main it’s only downloading a 1-3mbs WHY

I uninstalled Steam from my older SSD and installed it on a newer SSD. This did it for me.

My download will not stop droping down to 0 bps i restarted steam and my pc cleares cache to find out it restarted my download (wtf its 128gb download) and is making it take so much longer but my internet is working just fine i dont understand and its making me so mad this is going to make have to spend my entire day off downloading than actually playing (edit:i also xhanged regions nothing is helping smh)

It be cool if you mentioned clearing dl cache will also completely restart your current download. It was a not so pleasant suprise to see it restarted my download i was 19 hours into while you also didnt fix steams slow download. Very cool

Was at a solid 75mbps with WiFi then switched to lan and it peaked at 571.3mbps. However it kept dropping to zero. My region was set to LA since I’m near but I switched to Canada Toronto. It bumped it to a consistent 553.2mbps.

my problem was with the drivers because of my boot option. I have a windows 11 and I saw in a tutorial that putting it in selective startup would make the pc start faster, but I noticed that the downloads were slower, so just put the startup of your pc in normal and the problem will be corrected

@@Tamla1959 Windows key + R and type "msconfig" and look for the boot option, select the normal boot, after that optimize your drivers in the following msconfig options. restart the pc and always try to start steam in developer mode.

i live in massuchusetts and my download region thing was on boston changed it to new york faster

i dont get why i get faster downloads on my steam deck than on my desktop, i was getting easily 500 mbps on the deck using wifi and my desktop i hardly hit 30 using ethernet

I have been struggling with this issue on a high end PC for a while and have tried everything. I tried what you suggested but it didn't seem to help. But as a suggestion for others where this doesn't help I found something which does improve things: Instead of making sure the "Limit bandwidth to..." is unset, I actually set it to a lowish value which it then managed to maintain. You need to find a sweet-spot which then works consistently - I put it down to 7500 KB/s and it sticks to it and doesn't slow the PC down. Still amazes me as to what causes this issue where by my second "old" gaming PC can download at 40M/s without any problems or slowdown what so ever!!
