Just tried this and it works like a charm! This is the only video you need if your memory card lock is broken.

Very smart! I too would've figured that the switch was actually moving something inside the SD card, instead of inside the camera. Saved me trying to open it up and maybe breaking it further. I'm getting my card replaced under warranty but obviously need the data off it first. Thanks!

Thank you for talking about this lock switch, I had the same problem as you did and I was able to fix it by being more careful with the card. I slid the Lock on "Unlocked" and carefully put the card back in my Camera. If I didn't watch this video I wouldn't have figured it out.

Okay, it worked, but then I had the tape stuck in my PC!!! So it's fine if you need to recover something... but probably better to buy a new one1
