It’s weird how a LOT of people are currently experiencing this issue after the recent PS4 update. Mine just started acting up yesterday morning. I changed the HDMI cables, restarted my PS4 (several times), put my PS4 on safe mode, etc. Nothing’s worked. I’m starting to think it’s more of a Sony problem than the actual PS4 itself.

So my PS4 was working perfectly last night. Now I wake up turn it and this is what I'm doing today. Wtf. Also fix 2 really? My screen is black how am I supposed to see and go to screen settings on my PS4?😂 Update: used my living room TV to change settings. Starting to think it's my bedroom TV, Roku TV cause I still have a black screen on it.

It's a Black screen issue...Most of the fixes mentioned need the display to work and go into settings....

In my case, my Roku TV needed a restart. The menu is here: Settings> System > Power > System Restart > Restart

Holy shit I reset my Roku tv while my game was on and my game was loading after the tv booted up again thanks bro👍🏽🙏🏽also should check the hdcp settings now too just in case😂

I started getting the same issue . I then turned off the HDCP by using another tv. I came back to my other tv and the PS4 is working so far

Guys I´m done... I tried almost every single solution but nothig works for me... is not the ports or cable 'cause I can use the ps4 on my pc monitor but not in my old lgtv 32", I can only use the ps4 with and rca to hdmi adapter, but I can not do it with hdmi cable , i tried everything, the port in the tv is good because i use my N switch on it without issues, I tried formating, disabling hdhcp, changing the res, but nothing works..... pls HELP!

I don’t know if this will work for everyone but all I had to do was in plug my tv and plug it back in and that’s literally it

Yup, this worked. I don’t even know what happened. Was playing Jedi: Fallen Order and when I was messing with the map, it just black screened. Sony doing something sketchy I feel like because this hasn’t happened before

I was doing newest software update on mine and hit back and went to system whenever I click system that's when it black screened me

I’ve had this problem for about a year.. the only thing that works for me is switch on PS4 in safe mode and select “initialise” It reboots the whole system, you have to re-sign in and download your purchased games again, bit of a pain waiting for everything to download again but it’s prolonging my ability to use it... it may be the new downloads so you could unplug the PS4 when not in use.

So I was playing on my PS4 this morning and after some time I had to go grocery shopping so I switched the power off and when I came later and tried to switch the power on it started displaying black screen.I tried going to save mode but it doesn't display that too, someone got a fix for this?

My remotes wont even connect, they just flash. How am I suppose to do anything with this?

I have this problem for years on ps 4 then after the black screen I have the blue screen (Dying light 2 )

My screen goes black and then comes back to the picture. It does it quite often. I have bought a new HDMI cable and it still does it. Ever since I downloaded the Days Gone game that's when it first started. It can't be an overheating issue. It does it as soon as I turn the console on.

Black screen when switching accounts

I did the powercycle of the PS4 thing, still black. Then did a complete shutdown of my TV, including disconnecting both tv and PS4 from power, and now I have my PS4 back on the screen.

My PS4 started booting to a black screen after i forced shut down when it froze up while switching profiles. I really hope my PS4 isn't bricked as that would be REALLY annoying.

The issue isn't my TV as the PS logo displays but then black screen with flashing blue light on the console

@@mhdmhd-gc5sn The problem was actually in my ps4 and not in my hdm cable or the monitor. I got a ps5 a couple weeks back and it works wonders.

it's funny how people like this OP want you to go to your setting or home screen to do a fix for a system who's issue is NO DISPLAY!
