Thank you for explaining it like this. I had an experience some days ago similar to this. Adding to this, do not add cold water if you have in a bottle or so, because it might cause a crack in the radiator. Add water with normal temperature. Drive safe everyone!

Suneel bhai LUCKY is the man whose car overheats at home... 99.9% this happens when you are on the road WITHOUT access to water let alone a running water hose. In this case, the way to go is to switch ON the heater at full blast and after some minutes switch OFF the engine of your vehicle. Once the engine has cooled down, try starting the engine and adding water (IF AVAILABLE!) A tip for summer... ALWAYS CARRY SOME WATER WITH YOU IN YOUR VEHICLE... :)

This is why adding coolant to your car's cooling system is very important , normal tap water has a low boiling point , it also creates rust in the radiator and the engine which can restrict water flow . This could also cause the thermostat to rust out and become stuck closed which will cause engine faliure ,but good quality coolant has a high boiling point it does not create rust and keeps your car engine more cool preventing overheating issues , it is definitely much cheaper to buy coolant than to pay for an engine replacement .

Please tell me isn't it good to use coolants instead of water. Because I have read that water boils and evaporates sometimes at it's boiling point and that's the reason radiator empties water but in case of coolant it is opposite b/c coolant never evaporates at 100 degree.

Not to advertise or anything, but I have made a coolant, Gari Dauzhakh main bhi lay jao gaye to heat up nahi ho ge. Something I've learned in the middle east. Buy any kind of good quality coolant, empty your radiator and the reservoir, drop in 350ml of machine oil (it is light white oil, usual used to lube sewing machines) in the radiator, then fill up with coolant all the way, do not add water, use premixed coolant only. This ratio is for cars using up to 4 liters of coolant, you can adjust accordingly if your vehicle requires more.

It is wrong to turn off engine and let it cool down because it will take more time. When the engine is start the water circulates from engine block to radiator which cools down faster. My car AC condensor was dirty and the car was overheating with Ac while idling for 10 to 15 minutes but the temperature was below hot sign, and when I revved the car rpm to 3k or 4k the temperature started to decrease because at when the engine is running the water circulates to radiator which gets cool down faster. And when we rev car to 3k or 4k rpm the water circulates more faster and the water will cool down more faster which will decrease car temperature. If your car is not reducing water or coolant then it is wrong to turn off the engine but if your car is reducing water and the engine block and radiator will be dry then you should turn off the car. And if your car does not reduce water just start driving the car and while driving the air hitting on radiator and ac condensor will cool down car faster, also you can turn on heater on start car and windows roll down it will circulate water to heater core too and it will release more heat and car will cool down faster.

Engine overheating problem in Pakistan is mainly because of poor radiator performance and one of the reasons is using tap water in radiators. Tap water kills the radiator lines and narrows the engine block lines with rust and residue because of minerals found in the water. Always use distilled water and if any coolant available mix that with distilled water. The engine block cooling lines will stay clean and wide as a result the flow of water remain smooth. Engine bhi duain dega.

Nice video, but you have wasted a lot of water..it can be done with 2-3 water bottles also. Always keep 2-3 water bottles in your trunk while traveling in hot weather. Also use coolant instead of plain water in the carborator.
