You know you can make a bootable USB and use that as long it’s compatible with your Mac I done it before

Thanks bro. I was still going in circles using your method. Then I unplugged my USB drive which was plugged in with a standalone OS. My Mac was not even detecting that and jumping to Internet Recovery. I unplugged it and then tried your method. It worked perfect. Now it's installing Mac OS Sur as I type this on phone. I have a 2019 MacBook Pro with a -1008F error. After wiping my entire MacBook and it’s partitions out. it didn't work for me, got the same error at the end -2008F, before it was -1008F tho. Anyway, im going to try this method one again and see if it works...

@@javierms2551 it didn't work for me either. I just ended up downloading. Macos mojave hackintosh recovery file and ran that on my mac and used that to install proper macos big sur 🤣.

@@javierms2551 yeah the hackintosh file worked. I installed mojave onto my mac using that. And then installed big sur from the app store.

Command+Option+R... and maybe the power bottom? Only holding those 3 keys the Mac shows nothing. Do you need to restart again after the Option+Select your WiFi option?

This works for your specific error. Just google the error code - the other one is that you have to boot w/ the drive unlocked to be able to install on it which is option+cmd+r and not just cmd+r
