I love this show! I only take care of 800 square feet of cool season turf grass, with 7.0+ pH, but I still find relevant helpful hints to utilize on the lawn.

Can I ask a question? If a septic cleaning company emptied their trucks in the fields of 150 acre farm, and I lived downhill of some of these fields, how would that effect the PH of the soils in my yard, garden, and 3/4 acre pond, on the low side of our house? We test the water PH in the pond with the color drops and it is a very dark green, indicating a PH above 8 or even 9. It may also matter that the field above me is a cow pasture. I don't know what effect , if any, these activities could have around me. Any idea how I reverse the effects and lower the PH? Appreciate the help.

Borderline twaddle! Soils have dramatically different ability to buffer pH changes so what is being shared isn’t wrong, it’s just not correct for large swaths of the US. Also they neglect to mention the pH scale is logarithmic so adjustment from pH of 7.5 to 7 is vastly easier/cheaper than adjusting from 8 to 7.5!
