How to Fix Green Water Aquarium | Easy Fast Way tGet Rid of Algae Bloom

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

By far the quickest way to get rid of green aquarium water. I used the cheapest UV sterilizer on amazon to treat my green water aka algae bloom in my planted aquarium. This is actually my first time experiencing an algae bloom, and I’m too impatient to treat it the old fashion way of performing tons of water changes. A lot positive feedbacks about using a UV sterilizer, so I had to try it for myself.

    bought one of these on amazon,didn't connect the hose for bubbles,ran it continuously for about 7-8 days and water is perfectly clear, and still clear. Actually, I have 2 - 10 gallon tanks that I ran it all the time for 6-7 days and it cleared up the foggy water in them too. The reason I decided to run continuously in the tanks is there is no on and off button on the unit or the cord, so if you want to turn it off/on you have to pull the plug,or plug it in. Best $37.00 I spent, because I tried so many other ways to get rid of green or cloudy water. thanks for the heads up on this device,I give it a 2 thumbs up or more.

    I ran it before 24/7, it clears things up a bit faster. But it can also kill beneficial bacteria if it flows through the UV thing. Chances of that is low since beneficial bacteria attaches to your filter and other objects in the tank. But safe than sorry you know?

    Hi, maybe a bit off-topic but I noticed the Ludwigia sp. "Pantanal" (seems too red for Cuba) is thriving. I had this plant in the past but when I used to trim it, the bottom part of the stems went black. Is that something you noticed? And, another question regarding the lush, reds in your tank: What's your fertilization routine?

  • @TankTastic

    @TankTastic

    3 жыл бұрын

    The only plant I remember that had stems going black was my hygrophila 53b because I trimmed it and left it with no leaves on the stem. I fert Thrive, 2ml a day and add Seachem Iron 2x a week, 1ml each. It changes as plants grow or when I do a huge trim.
