​@@Ryan-ve5hb Hey Guys nothing worked for me too but i found a way. I cleaned the disc physically, did defragmentation but still it gave me the error. Then I deleted the game from main menu, took cd out, reinstalled the game back, updated it, launch the game and voila it worked.

Tried everything,new console plays other discs and game I'm having issues loading on my new ps4 plays on my old ps4, edge of disc is a bit scabby.

theres a screw that holds the optical drive (hard drive onto the ps4 plastic body)if that screw is lose or not tighen all the way,You will get that code as well.Theres a total of 4 screws that hold the disc reader onto the ps4,if any are lose etc.You will get that code.

My playstation reads the disc it's my external hard drive it's not repairing. And not showing up n my device screen

My ps4 is brand new and, this is happening to only 1 game. It is a pre owned game (metal gear phtm pain) of course a game I was dying to try. The disc doesn't have a scratch on it. I really don't want to mess with the hard drive because everything else and, all other games work mint. Do you think it is definitely something wrong with the game?

Yeah so when I switch on my ps4 it checks system status and loads up 60% and says cannot start up PS4 , I've download the new version followed the steps and doesn't recognize it, went into safe mode and installed it then I got the back in the same issue it cannot start up. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

The error Always comes when I try to Start a mission in story mode (RDR2) I did everything Van someone help me?

So I have a tiny scratch on my farcry 5 disc and it isn't reading it but it reads other discs so can that tiny scratch possibly mess up the disc (the scratch is on the part were the PS4 reads it)

I tried to rebuild the database, but the PS turned off and now never turns on again. There's just the PS logo for a while, and then it turns off again. I think it might be time to change the hard drive, but... after all the news with updates after 7.50 that break the system, I'm not even sure what to do.

Ive done this and it deleted all my games broke my usb extended storage i dont think this helps

I have had exact same I've had my playstation in repair and they said it's perfectly fine they said I had merged files causing corrupt data its bo4 red dead 2 and the system update 7.02 are faulty until the next system update

@@joelewis6090 it will just try look through all your add ons games upload all your data then delete all system data and the suspected game you think is corrupted (mine was BO4) just delete the whole app or if that's the only game/app you play delete any others LAN cable always connected to stop safe mode start ups and keep yours ps clean until system update 7.03 I know your feeling but mine is okay now since I deleted BO4 no more spreading of corrupt data just have to hold out till the system update

Cheggleberry i have been through all of my my saved data and it’s says nothing about the corrupted data but I have quite a lot of games on my console and every one of them reads disc and plays properly but (red dead) sometimes says that the disc is possibly damaged or dirty which it’s not but the majority of the time it is saying about red dead been corrupted and I did think about deleting the whole game because I’m not bothered about the story mode I just don’t want to lose my online data for (red dead redemption) because I’ve put a lot of time into it thank you for helping I’m just new to all this corrupted data stuff because I just want it fixed but don’t want to lose my online data lol

@@joelewis6090 trust me you can delete and reload I also play red dead 2 also and I can confirm a save is not needed so long you have a Social club account with R* I deleted my story too which I'm not bothered about but I promise you it wont delete your online save if you have SC bro 🙂

AYYYYY WHAT'S WITH THAT PFP

My experience with this error is totally different. First of all, it only happens when I have a disc already inserted in the console. 1. Booting up my system with a disc in the drive. or 2. Inserting the disc and not running the game right after (Taking some time in other tasks and then coming back to run the disc game). But, whenever I put the disc and run it as soon as the disc is read, every game runs fine. What sorcery is this?

Im having the problem with my red dead 2 the data disc download fast and well but my play disc downloads halfway and pauses I take it out clean it and put it in its says its gonna take 99+ hours download for a minute and pauses if any 1 had this problem and fixed it please let me know how to fix it

Ok so when I download rdr2 it goes on a copy and download at the same time but once it reaches a 1 Gb I get this error I don’t know what to do

I have a ps4 pro and I’m having this problem with just one game (madden 20) and I’ve tried using a micro fiber cloth and rubbing alcohol and its still doesn’t work, i tried looking for the save data and i cant even find it i also tried using the safe mode method and nothing is working idk what to do

My game downloaded fully and it has a X on the download bar and the error code pops up

Lets just hope that the ps5 doesn’t have the same problem

I'm having the same issue atm. The disk is probably damaged or needs a really good wipe with tissue or something. If your ps4 is playing other disks or DVDs and download other games that you insert into your ps4 it sounds like the disk is not working.

Please I need a solid answer. I get this same error, but its with call of duty cold war. I start up the application, then it says that i need to uninstall it and download it again. This doesn't work ive tried everything. This error code only happens to call of duty black ops 3. And if i start the application again it actualy starts up, until i get a message to eject the disk, but i can still hear the game when the message pops up

My PS reads every other game perfectly but when I go to put my last of us 2 data disc in it copies the data to 95% and then freezes and gives me the error can't open application and I have tried and tried so many times rebuilding the database cleaning the disc, the disc doesn't have any major scratches.

@@idunno...2179 i found a fix, well not a fix exactly: so my disk also didn't had any scratches but it was giving me error after downloading 21 gb i tried database fix etc. None of them worked, so i bought an another last of us 2 copy aand worked, i do not know what is the issue with the disks but it is a faulty disk, sadly there is no fix besides replacing it

I tried rebuild data base so i can play my sims 4 it use to be working but now it doesn’t i don’t know what else to do

MUST READ!!! I worked out what you have to do. Install the game WITHOUT an internet connection. It’s the updates that disrupt the initial installation. So disconnect from the internet in Settings>Network. delete any previous game same game data and the application. Put the disc back in. Install and then you can do the updates when it’s fully installed.

I’m having problems with assassins creed origins the disc. I bought the game straight out the plastic brand new when I put the game in and try to copy the application it stops on 172.2 mb then gives me the code. I’ve tried everything I can think of to fix the problem. I’ve returned the game for a new game I’ve cleaned the disc I’ve rebuilder the database I’ve restored the license Still will not work

I have rebuilt the data base many times. And I have no corrupted data from any of my games so idk what to do.

I think sony is messing our stuff up so we will buy PS5... seeing that a lot of the comments here are very recent and not far apart and as I'm havin problems myself... seriously considering PC

I have Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition on disc (spotless, no scratches) and it won’t install😩 Any ideas how to solve it? Turned the system off and then on several times😖

I have question, I already initialized my ps4 , so it was factory reset. i tried again to install and play the games that i have . but im still getting the “cannot start the application”. 3 times INITIALIZED and still im getiing the error. I have last option that is “ initialized ( reinstalling system) , does it help to solve the problem? im confused what is the problem. rebuild database and initialized doesnt work in my ps4

The disc Is bad

I’ve tried this so many time i cleaned the disc everything and it still shows the x,it can’t be my hard drive because I tried downloading other disc games and they worked so I don’t know what to do.

It’s asking me to update the game, which will take hours

You deserve 10M subscribers my minecraft was not working but you are a hero you helped me

i have re built the data and all it only does it to one game and thats it how do i go about that my disc drive is fine any help will do and there is no problems with the disc
