Weightlifter's Elbow: Why It Happens and How To Fix It
-----------------
When you lift weights over time, the triceps and forearm muscles can become restricted, meaning they shorten, tighten, and tense up due to muscular contraction, overuse, and a lack of myofascial release. These tight muscles overstretch, strain, and inflame the tendons and tissues around the elbow, resulting in tendon discomfort.
To fix or prevent this condition, maintain pliable triceps and forearms through self-myofascial release (SMR) exercises. This practice can instantly relieve the restrictions in the muscles and minimize the risk of injury, overuse, and inflammation. Watch the video to learn more.

Wow! Seriously, this is one of the greatest quality vids on KZread. Absolutely top-notch. Raises the bar for this entire platform. Any content creator could learn lights simply by modeling after your vids. I mean, obviously the content itself is extremely informative and helpful, but the wording of the information and its delivery and extensive thoroughness-- aside from the fact that it's obviously experientially ingrained knowledge and wisdom-- place this vid (& your vids) far above the goofball regurgitated nonsense that seems to pervade KZread. I wish videos such as yours (a rarity!) become easier to find, & rise to the top of searches.

Yea, tennis elbow is very frustrating. It can literally bring all your lifts to a halt. Sorry to hear. The good thing is it is simple to fix, and with a little daily practice, easy to counteract to prevent relapse. Hope this video helped. All the best!

I honestly feel like my triceps are just too weak and that's why it's causing too much stress on my elbow, when I lower the weight I don't have the pain in my elbow but I also don't feel my tricep working because it is too light. It's really annoying to say the least, my triceps are the most underdeveloped I'd say. What would be some great tricep exercises that are easy on the elbow?

Hey, sorry to hear your triceps have been bothering you. I agree, any type of muscle or tendon issues while working out can be frustrating. Here are a few things to keep in mind that might help. Generally, when there is stress or pain in a joint, unless there is late-stage degeneration (arthritis) or structural issues (broken bone or torn tendon), most pain is caused by muscle restriction (tense, tight, knotted muscles that stress and strain the tendon and joint). Also naturally, the triceps is twice the size of the biceps, and most "push" upper-body exercises engage the triceps, so they naturally develop. So long as there is no shoulder pain, it sounds like your situation might be a combination of weak triceps (lack of strength in the muscle) and muscle restriction. First, check out this article on triceps tendonitis, it might answer some of your questions: www.titaniumphysique.com/triceps-tendonitis-back-of-elbow-pain/ Second, start by releasing the triceps muscle: www.titaniumphysique.com/elbow-pain-causes-and-treatments/#relief-exercise Last, focus on single-arm tricep exercises like these (they are easy on the elbow): Tricep Kickback (with a resistance band) One-arm tricep Pulldown (with a resistance band) One-arm tricep Pushdown (with a resistance band) One-arm tricep Overhead Extension (with a resistance band) These exercises will isolate the triceps. You can even close your eyes during the movement, focus on the muscle, and try to "feel" the triceps muscle working. Also, try to contract the triceps as much as possible at the bottom of the movement. For the exercises above, begin with resistance bands, progress to cables, and then dumbbells. Good luck and all the best!

@@titaniumphysique thanks a lot for your long comment💪🏼 I also have pretty long arms so my guess is this causes more “lever effect” on my elbow what makes it even heavier. I will check out the links and keep training and eating ofcourse.

Can i use massage gun instead of a ball for triceps SMR?

  • @titaniumphysique

Yes, you can use a massage gun at the triceps muscle belly (the biggest part of the muscle), but you will get better results using a peanut ball to massage the triceps tendon at the back of the elbow and near the armpit area. Good luck.
