This works if you don't pull the blinds too hard. It worked for me.

Sorry but your comment. Had me laughing so hard I had tears.
Often the issue with these blinds is that one (or more) of the internal springs has unwound completely off of one of the rollers. In that case, tugging on it will do nothing except possibly cause more damage.
After I watched this, I said to my wife, I will be amazed if this works. Well..I am amazed. Other videos were about to have me dismantle the whole thing. Glad I didn't and watched this!
Totally messed up my shade. It would help if he provided info on how this mechanism works.
This worked perfectly in one try! Excellent. Thanks
Hi to everyone looking to fix their binds! I bought an ikea blind just a moment ago and i stretched my blinds to the core which « broke » them. I was shocked and this video did not help. However i found how to fix it after trying things out. I looked on top of the blinds where there is a spring and the string mechanism system that slides on those wheels. The issue was that the cord or string got stuck to the SIDE of the wheel and i unblocked the strings until the blinds did a click and automatically pulled itself back up. HOPE IT HELPS.
Worked on my levolor blinds. Got them a month ago for the patio door. Would only stay up 3/4 of the way for the last week. This video saved me a phone call! Had to do it several times. I imagine this will only work for some blinds if the internal parts/strings are not wore out. I would look at this as a last ditch effort before fixing or replacing your blinds. Always check all of your purchases close to the end of the warranty time period. That has saved me plenty of grief in the past. Thanks again for the video.
Thank you! Thank you! It worked. So far so good. Saved me sending it in, though Levelor is quite helpful in fixing things. Thank you!
Holy cow! It actually worked. Son of a biscuit, it truly worked. Blind has only gone up 1/4 of the way up. Bless you, young man.
Haha wow, that fixed the problem so quickly! Thank you so much
Thank you! I had a Bali cordless blind that was stuck halfway. This did the trick for me! :)
Awesome. I tried the second time and it worked well. However, it seemed something was stucked and I have to try several times then it works so smooth now. THANKS.
This worked perfectly. Thanks!
Oh wow!!! That worked great!!! So easy and the shade works great again!!! Thank you so much for your help!!!! Carol from Pa.
Thanks, Ben. Worked perfectly!
This worked perfectly! I was going to dismantle my shade to figure out what might be wrong. So glad I found this video and it worked! Thank you!!!!
Thank you so much! I didn't want to replace my blinds because of the cost. My blinds were all the way down and would not go up even after I did like you recommended but I then slowly gathered up the blinds (3 or 4) and then tried them and it worked. So I continued with 3-4 more blinds and pulling down each time. Don't need to replace them now. So thanks again
Worked perfectly on a Hunter Douglas Literise roller blind!
worked perfectly, first try. Awesome.
Worked for me, I pulled the blinds firmly @ about the suggested 45 degree angle. I have Levolor wooden blinds. Thank you!
This immediately solved my problem. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Thanks for this! Worked like a charm.
Pulling the shade down with a little force @ a 45 degree angle worked for me & now my cordless blind is fixed. Thank you for filming the video!
That did not work for my blind...it actually made it worse. Any other suggestions?
Dude, you are a life savor. In this COVID, it impossible to get the dude back to fix my shades. It worked for me great. Thanks.
That worked for me on my Levolor shade. Thanks!
That worked like a charm!!Can't thank you anymore!!
Worked for me! Thank you Benjamin
That worked on Levolor blinds. Thanks!
Thanks, this video made my life much easier! Tugging on the fully extended blind caused the bottom to just break right in half. Will be such a blessing to throw it in the trash and run to the thrift shop for some curtains.
It worked!! Thank you!!
Absolutely worked perfectly. Thank you. I did a very gentle tug a few times when fully extended.
Awesome. Worked like a charm, thanks!!
Wow, thanks for posting this! It worked for my HunterDouglas cordless cellular top-down bottom-up blinds!
I just installed some of these blinds and my customer asked me if I can adjust the tension, Thank you for this video!
This worked on mine. Thank you!
Worked great, thank you!
It totally worked! Thank you!
That worked, thank you! :)
Worked perfectly! Took a couple tries but getting it at a 45 degree angle finally did it
How does the cordless mechanism work in the first place for raising the blinds? Pulling them I can see the tension triggering the release of some device on top that locks back in place when the additional tension due to the pulling is gone (and you're left with only the weight of the plastic piece on the bottom but how about pushing up? Is there some mechanical device in the bottom instead (unlike in the top like traditional blinds with the cord) that gets released with both upward and downward pressure (i.e. pulling downwards dislodges the pinion and allows the cord to move while while pushing upward removes the tension in the cord allowing a torsion spring to pull on the cord so that there is no slack)?
Omg! Holy crap - it worked! I've been fighting with this darn blind for hours! Just saw your video and it worked instantly! Don't tug too hard though or else it might break! 😅thanks so much for helping me bro! 😁🤩
This works perfectly!!! Thx!
Thank you for making this video. My two year old ravaged our blinds, and I seriously thought they were broken. Using this method, they work again! Also, love your threads. It goes without saying, anyone criticizing your clothes was born before TV was a thing. Thanks!
This totally worked for me. Thank you!!'
So easy! Thanks so much for this tip!
Worked the very first time!!! Thanks Dude
Thanks for your help.
This just saved me after 20 min of frustration! Thank you!
Omg tysm my apartment cordless shades hadn't been working in my room and now it does work♡
THANK YOU!
It worked! Thank you! Thank you!
It worked for me and I have cheap $7 blinds. Thank you!!!
thank you, that worked like a charm!
I hope this will help with a couple new blinds I just bought. Placed them up, and you can pull them down, but they won't go up. I took them off the window and bought two more replacements before I found this video to see if this would work. :(
Thank youu! i needed this
Perfect thank you very much it work with mine ❤❤
Tried and it didn't work. What did work is the blind was stuck all the way to the bottom. Took it off. Saw a couple plastic cogs that the string raps around. Gave them some lube with WD-40 through the top holes where the "C" clips are. Wound the cogs up a bit by hand. Yanked it down and just kept working it. Finally its smooth as butter again.
I don't know why or how it worked, but it worked. Thanks!
Does extreme cold cause these blinds to not work? I tried your video idea several times and it did not work.
I never comment on videos- but this was the first video I watched and I was able to fix my blinds in ten seconds so thank you!
I have blinds.com brand top down bottom I'll cordless shades that can go all the way up, but then they sag down about halfway after I release them. What do I do about that?
Thank you!
THANK YOU ITS WORKING AGAIN 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Just bought new cordless 2”blinds and now they don’t want to stay up. How can I fix this?
IT WORKED !!!!, Too bad I had gone out and bought another shade before I saw this.
Did not fix it. Now my blind is 12 " from the floor.
Worked for me... yeah 🙏
thanks it works
What if blind in sagging on the one side like nothing is holding it in place. What is wrong with it and is it fixable?
This broke my blinds completely! Probably don't use this technique if you have the IKEA HOPPVALS blind.
I owe you a beer should I ever run into you - as u solved my problem - thought blinds were simply busted/unfixable - went to Home Depot to get replacement but they are all out of stock - then thought maybe I can fix it with some help - and voila your tutorial worked like a charm - Tnx
Haha this worked like a champ on some Home Depot blinds that stopped working a long time ago - thought I had to replace them… guess not lol thanks!
Worked great and yes I pulled the blinds off lol
Totally worked and they are vinyl blinds....👍🏻cheaper to try then run out and get new 👍🏻
It worked! 😁
I tried it and worked on the first one (much smoother and easier to go up I did the second one and I think I broke the string, it just stays down and .. how do I fix that??

Did anyone find instructions on restringing these when the cord breaks from applying this method?
Just broke the shit out of my blinds.
I used this for my Levolour shade. One side was down farther than the other and it wouldn't move. This trick worked perfectly
See, mine won’t pull down or up anymore. Is it locked? Can it be locked? How do I fix this?
It worked perfectly! I was worried I needed to buy another one. THANK YOU!
That saved me $100! Thanks!
worked for me
Thank you for the tip! Tried it, and it worked with our long shade.
Fixed, it worked. Didn't knew it was so simple - Thanks
Do not pull too hard. I pulled out 45 degrees, yanked twice and one of the strings snapped clean
So based on the comments, there's like a 50/50 chance of fixing your blinds or completely breaking them. Are you feeling lucky, punk?
I love you Benjamin from the customer care team
Thanks, problem solved.
And I was ready to call for repair! It worked great! Thank you!
My shade was not going up tight on one end. Gently pulling it out all the way without the tugging fixed it. Thanks for the idea!
At first it didn't work, after repeated tries, so then I gently closed the blind manually to change it and VOILA, it worked after that. So be sure to fully close the blind once you do this
Worked fine with me. Don't know how hard people pulling to break it.
Cool, worked (:
Fix issue, Thank you.
Didn't work at all (on levolor) maybe made it worse.
does nothing for mine, still only goes about halfway up.
I so wish this had worked!
So this works better with higher end shades and breaks lower end shades... got it
worked for me, didn't even have to pull down very hard at all
