THIS was INCREDIBLY HELPFUL! I fixed 2 filterr pumps today just by learning I can take them apart more and deep clean them! They went from the verge of trash to good as new! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Thanks! we had another filter in storage, but we cleaned the one in current use and BAM worked like new.

It actually worked. My pump was very loud, and I managed to get the motor cap off and cleaned everything. Now I can't hear the motor. Thanks

didn't even realize my aqueon came apart lol - shaft for impeller was scored @ one end & I'd noticed the caps were loose @ both ends - I wrapped them both w/teflon tape & secured caps...save $

Hi I have a Atman canister filter and it's blowing in to the tank air, but there's no air going into the filter from the intake pipe. What could be the problem please? It's not constant And sometimes when it happened I have shot off the filter for a few minutes and it stopped. Thank you in advance for your assistance

I have a new filter it came with no instructions and is different to my other one it came with a tube thingy and a plastic tube thing with holes in it’s rattling quite a bit idk what to do

Hi there, I’ve recently gotten a new “all in one” tank. I’ve had to replace the filter 3 times in the last week because it begins to make a loud rattling noise. The last replacement that I got seemed to be fine but after about 2 days has begun to rattle. At this point I’m considering taking the entire tank back to the shop. Any ideas? It’s a Jebo R338 tank.

When I had gone to clean the impeller, I have no idea if it gotten loose or what but ever since I first removed the pieces to clean it, it rattles super noisily and I have no idea how to fix it. It’s clean as it was new, if I have it all the way pushed into the section it’ll just refused to move. Any suggestions out there?

I barely received a marine land 350 and connected it to my aquarium… it didn’t make any noise but as I continued to add more water to reduce the splash noise, it began to make a slight gurgling noise… not sure if this is impeller related but idk what I can do to stop that noise. I’ve let it run for about 2 hrs and it has increased in noise. (Not sure if this is the issue but I let it run with no filter cartridges… not sure if that changes anything) hope someone can help me with this 🥺

Yes dirty propeller was the culprit. You can hear the sound humming when you plug in, most likely that’s the issue, I just clean it a wet paper towel, it is working again!

Hi I hope you see this it’s been hard finding a good vid on the fluval u1 iv come across your channel and seen your vid on the u2 ;the problem I have is the Venturi valve is not working iv fallowed your guide for under water or not and for everything I have tryd I can only get it to work for about 5 min then all oxygen stops ie Venturi valve stops working iv always used fluval for like 6years now in meny tanks with meny filters but never came across this problem befor I hope you have some advice you could pass along Kind regards Neal

The impeller magnet has probably exploded which sometimes happens. If it won't come loose you'll need to replace the whole thing

If you can’t get a new peace take off the little black plastic and switch the magnet if it’s worn out worked for me

Came here when my pump didn't start working once plugged in. Got an answer immediately; had to find the right part of the machine and poke it a little and now it works again. 😁

Super -sim mine is so noisy and its brand new

The impeller stops on a hard stop. It's not possible to take it apart it seems, and I can't find replacement impellers anywhere online or at any store.

Mines is still spinning fast and it doesn’t seem broken I’m confised

I had the u3 filter, after my first water change the filter didn't work, I panicked and drive to pets at home and paid twice as much for the same pump then what I brought online. then when I got home took it out box and went to set it up and the first filter kicked into gear. they wouldn't take it back, so I sold the new one on gumtree for half the price even though it hasn't been in water, and the cheeky bugger wanted another £10 off when he turned up to collect.

@@mikekelly2446 tilt the filter back and forth to realease trapped air. That helped massively in reduction. The big button is useless for priming. I even use my hand to burp the filter. Like you'd pat the back of a baby to get the wind up.. it works... Try that... And let me know how you get on Mike 👍🏼

@@sassilou thank you for the quick reply I have done that today and messed around with it for hours with no joy. Its flowing well and filtering well but sounds like something at the top of the canister is rattling around. I did top up my tank with some more sand so I'm wondering if sand has got inside 🤔

@@mikekelly2446 if you can hear running water into the filter it needs priming some more. Even rock it back and forth quickly can help. Also I have tried vasiline before on the impeller. I wiped a thin coat on the silver barrel of it then put it back in slowly. Becareful of the stick it comes with. It is ceramic and will snap if your heavy handed. I've broke 3 upto now 😂

There could be trapped air in the filter. When you put the filter back into the water try turning it at different angles to allow trapped air to release

I have Top Fin® Silenstream™ Power Filter

I have a Marineland Magniflow 220 canister filter. It has recently given up the death rattle and bit the dust. I just cleaned the whole filter and media less than a month ago. I have no idea on God's good green earth how to open the housing where the motor and propeller is! I can see the propeller and it looks clear... But I don't know how to get behind it.

i have a brand new filter that is rattling.

Um, I have like a water fountain pump and... The propeller stopped working.

Not much fixing to be done when it comes to impellers. If the flow is shit, just clean it out. If its making noise, usually your fucked and you have to replace either the impeller, or the impeller shaft. Happened to my filter yesterday, as well as my wave maker a while ago. Eventually a tiny rock or piece of sand makes it way in there, and it just spins and spins and spins and grinds against the shaft and inner impeller making these wear lines, if you see that, dont bother some DIY fixit bullcrap, just replace it.
