Thank you for posting this video! Our Bosch repair guy told us the "secret" of taking the condenser unit out and cleaning behind it, but he never showed us the trap door that you did. It took 10 minutes: I sopped up the water with a cloth, cleaned the gunk out of the well by feel, ran a dry cloth around to get everything clean, rinsed out the condenser unit from the front and sides, put it all back together, and presto--working dryer again. I didn't even have to reset the unit. This video rocks!

I remember in the 1980s my mother would call a serviceman to fix her washer. Most were at the mercy of the 'Maytag' man and others. Now in the 21st century we have this global community of folks sharing knowledge and helping each other. Great time to be alive! I have a Bosch washer and dryer. My dryer was driving me bonkers with that F:03 error message and accompanying beeps! I've replaced the dryer once in 2009 and was sure I would need to do it again until I saw your video! You are a GODSEND!!! These Bosch dryers are well over a $1,000 now. I was able to use a combination of a small glass container, an ice cream scooper and paper towel to clean out the black wet goop. Dryer is working like a dream now. Thank you so much for caring and sharing!

THANK YOU! I just now used your excellent advice (love that key card trick) to open and clean out that wet and gunky compartment -- for the second time (we do a lot of laundry loads in our home!). FYI: I was having difficulty using a class/cup to get rid of water and gunk, so I just used my fingers to scrape up as much as I could, and then some absorbent rags to sop up the remaining water. Total time: under 10 minutes 🙂 All the best!

This worked like a charm for me! BLESS YOU. I Spent like 1 hour researching and trying everything. And cleaning the inner compartment area was the trick. I just put my hand in there and cleaned it till I got all the water soaked up with paper towels. So its either DIY with paper towels, a light and 30 mins. OR pay a Bunch, I don't even wanna know. Thanks for this video. I fixed my dryer that was showing F:03 error in less than an hour. I used my fingers and a turkey baster with a bent tip. Dryer is working just fine now. You are the best!

I was able to figure part of this out myself but would never have been able to expose the drain tray and clean the pump and sensor without this video. You are the man.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this! I got the F03 message and thought I would have to spend money to get it looked at and fixed because the manual is of no help. I searched KZread thinking there might be a remote chance I could find some helpful info and there was your video post! I had no idea the little trap door under the cooling filter existed, and that it could be easily removed to access and clean the compartment. I successfully cleaned it and got rid of the F03 error. I will make this a part of my routine dryer maintenance - its not that hard to do. Its a real shame the manufacturer doesn't provide this information to owners. Thank you again!

Brilliant. This solution worked great on my >12yo Bosch Dryer. It has no display for showing errors. It randomly stopped working in a cycle while the led of a full waterreservoir was blinking. (it never was even near to half). Cleaning the lint in the sump solved the problem!! Thanks

Thank you so much! I'm the second owner of this dryer and there's no manual. I had no idea you were supposed to see through the condenser! Cleaned it out but still had the problem so I went to the next part. Like others, after getting the back panel off rather than use a cup I mopped up the excess water and gunk with a cloth. Your tip about using the rigid card to wedge out the panel was supper helpful. Thank you so much!

JCUFO55 very true this was my mom's dryer that my aunt bought used for her with no directions. This happened on only her 3rd load. I told them both a service guy would of charged them $60 to $90 bucks. So that's about how much this video is worth for everyone here. 🤔 👌

Mahalo! (thank you in hawaiian). This works!!! Whew!!! Really appreciate you posting this video. I panicked when my dryer kept giving me error F03. I actually used a clean rag and just wrung it several times as another poster mentioned and also used paper towels to soak up the mess from the compartment (instead of suggested turkey baster and/or cut water bottle). Fixed the dryer all by myself without the hubby! I managed to get it done and cleaned up in approx. 20 minutes! So easy! Paper towels were great in absorbing and removing the lint. Saved me $$$ from getting a repair man.

Still working 7yrs later. Life saver!

THANK YOU for the very easy to follow instructions. You rock. I didn't use the cup/water method. I just reached in with a wet towel and wiped all the lint out because I have small hands. 3 swipes and it was clean. Done in 5 min! :)

This was a HUGE help--I hd no idead that little door was there. Dryer now working again--THANK YOU! (FYI, I was not getting an error code, just 'check drain' message ongoing for months, although the dryer would continue to work if if was just restarted.)

I paid a repair guy to do this a long time ago. He and his assistant pulled out the stacked units from the washer/dryer closet and then proceeded to dismantle the dryer to get at the problem. It cost me over 250 bucks. ( guess i was paying for the other guy too. grrrr) Now I Just did the fix myself from your video. Thank you so much!!!! Didn't even need a tool box. I used a small paper cup to scoop out the linty water and then just used paper towels to get the rest out.

Very helpful...many thanks for posting this video...I also used a towel to extract the water. Initiallyl it did not work, so then I took out the hose and made sure it was clear of lint, and finally I use a straw to push water into the washer from the outflow drain in the back of the dryer

OMGlob! I couldn't figure out why I had so much water build up in the back of my condenser. after watching this I can't believe what I found...thank you! I didn't get the dreded F30 but the amount of lint I found was like a sopping pillow pad of lint. I didn't bother with adding water because it came out in one big glob

Really helpful - thank you for posting this. Rather than work fro the inside I undid the lid of the machine, removed the screws holding on the side of the machine (including the one underneath!) this enable me to swing the side far enough out to have easy access to the pump and made for an easy fix. I also used a waterproof vacumn to empty the reservoir.

That's how I did it before I figured out this technique. How long did it take you to do that? I think thru the tunnel is much faster.

genius, I've been trying to figure out what was wrong for so long.

Worked for me as well. Used wet/dry shopvac to get the lint out, then repeated the process a few more times by pouring in water with a small cup. Finally filled the clean trap with water to the top, and turned the dryer on (choose any setting) to see if the pump actually worked, and it did. Interesting to see that it runs until there's about a 1/2" of water left in there. So far so good. Thank you!

Best video on this ! Would of skip the last step with the credit card if I didn't find this video. ( what a pain in the ass tho bad design ) btw I just used a wash cloth and keep ringing it out then finished it off with a paper towel. There was also some wet lint in the very back of tunnel that needed to be cleaned off as well. Another video said this needs to be done once a month or every 20 loads. Wonderful tip! Solved my problem. Previous tenants must have never cleaned ours, I pulled out a sheet of lint as thick as a slice of toast. Now it works!

This was so helpful! A few things to add that may help: 1) if you can get hold of a suction cup to use to lift the panel instead of a credit card it helps a bunch. 2) I went to Home depot and bought a AWESOME wet dry vac (RIDGID 12-Gal. 5 PHP Wet/Dry Vac Model # WD1270) and got the attachment that brings down the diameter of the nozzle, then I went to the plumbing aisle and bought a clear flexible pvc tube and a hoes clamp. This was really easy just kept filling with water and sucking out.

I'm working on a new follow-up video with a more in depth cleaning procedure if this problem comes back. I only ask that you try it out and give me feedback on what worked / didn't work and what you found in your unit.

+MITEEman I had dozens of people test out the video and the final version has been released at kzread.info/dash/bejne/aaVhlNx6maWsqdo.html or just look for the link embedded in the video. I have yet to hear of anyone who it hasn't solved the problem. I just performed it on a unit and it only took about 20 minutes since I knew what I was doing.

Had this problem over last few months. Found the secret flap and cleaned it out as best I could but it still didn't work. I then removed the side panel to get access to the pump and float. I removed the pump and float and cleaned both of them out too. The float glides up and down a little channel and this can catch debris also so it's important to clean that out too. I also removed the condense tube from the valve that leads into the water container at the top of the dryer and blew air down to ensure there is no blockage. You can hear bubbles at the end as you blow which tells you there is a clear passage in the tube. This did the trick for me so hopefully it might help you also.

Awesome recommendations - this really helped a ton!! I used wet rags to clean out the area under the trap and that seemed to work great. I then put some bleach on the rag and did another pass.

thanks, I have the Axxis+ and it was the same... for me it was crazy quick to go in with a microfiber towel. the microfiber literally stuck to the lint muck. hope this helps.

Thank you for the video. I had the exact same issue and sorted out in 15 minutes using a sponge. I bet the 21 thumbs down are from repair technicians that are pissed off of seeing this video teaching people how to do a 400/600$ repair call, in 15 minutes on their own. This video saved me about 400/600$ bucks, which is what an appliance tech would have charged me in Manhattan. Without this video It would have worked out this way: Finding a repair tech on google and getting through a few of them before getting one, that did not sound like an a ole, to come by: 30 minutes. Wait for a day for the tech to show up and pay 175$ just to show up and check. Having him to inspect and find out that a part is obviously needed... Getting another estimate of 200$ for the part and another 200 for the man hours to install it. Having the guy to come back again and replace a 50$ part that wasn't needed and charge me 200$ for it. Just to give you an idea why video like these get thumbs down.

You are awesome! This worked! Right down to using the card to open the vent.

Thanks for this. My variation on this is to use a wet vac. If you have one of those orange Ridgid hoses, just unscrew whatever coupler you have on it to have bare flexible vac hose - easier to direct into corners. Also with wet vac you can get a fair amount of the gunk out from under the pump without removing the pump. Vacuumed, then added a liter soda bottle of warm water to the sump area, swished it around and vacuumed again. I've also done this guy's pump removal version which may sometimes be necessary. But the wet vac may save you from needing to do that for a long time. In this video the dryer lint port is at waist height which makes two handed operations easier probably - mine is on the floor and I can't seem to do much with two hands in it. So for example, to get the sump cover off I just use a miniature needlenose pliers at an angle with one hand (stupid slippery tabs), then the cover pops up enough to get a finger under and flick the other tab with just a finger.

Yes I have had great luck with Bosch dishwashers. Strange that they can be so good at dishwashers but these dryers are doomed to failure by design and they don't tell anyone how to clean it out. But you should watch my video on extreme cleaning because it will likely come back soon if you don't remove the sump pump completely.

Skip the cup and dig in fingers first. Done in 2 minutes! Thanks for the tip!!

This is great, thanks. But how often do you need to do this? I'm having to do this after every 2 or 3 loads, which seems excessive. We've had 2 pumps replaced and were on track to get a third, though the pump does seem to work somewhat. But it seems strange we need to do this much work on a machine like this.
