By default, Serato uses your deck as an audio card so it was routing audio through your dj-202 - so it was trying to play through the rca master outputs (top left). To fix - or use your computer's audio output (it's speakers or to use the headphone jack on your computer) go to audio settings and change the output to what is being used by your computer (often realtek but could be something else; hover over your audio icon in the task bar to check what your computers default audio setting is then in Serato, make sure you use the same)

That has to be the most roundabout way to do it. Mixxx has done it right, and it's free. Why can't Serato learn?

@@natalieeab If you are using Serato DJ software, it will play through the laptop jack. Go to preferences, then select audio, then under Audio Output tab, select Use laptop speakers. Let me know if it works.

Bro’this has to be the reason, I’m not getting sound n went back to my NDX500’s but know I can get them out later and hopefully u just solved, wat I’ve been too busy to look up Barr toda, m8 ur the 2nd guy that’s said the same thing, but u got same equipment rather than the lappy mines is windows 10 got some Mojave op or Catalina op no sure I thought it was w that but will try later thanks man....🎼🎊

this is not the way its supposed to be tho. its supposed to work without having to listen through the device, using this works as a temporary fix but causes massive delay between the headphone cue and speaker output making it virtually impossible to beatmatch by ear as the latency causes so much delay

I have the Roland 505 and having the same issues but everything will pill through virtual DJ no problem but serato a problem also the mic won’t work

From memory right click the sound icon in bottom right corner and there should be an option my bro

Unsure of Win10 UI, might have to search Sound Devices in the search bar or Google where to find it on Win10, sorry bud.

Or headphones, just switch output audio to headphone jack if you don't have working speakers.

I've never used a Mac but I would assume the sound/recording devices can be accessed through the system preferences: support.apple.com/en-au/guide/mac-help/mchlp2256/mac Let us know if it works or if you found another solution for Mac users. Thanks. It turned out my initial controller had bum RCA outputs. Used a different make controller and had no problems.

I'm no expert, I literally discovered this fix by luck but I can try to help. Do you get a static sound when using the speakers through another application (video player, etc)? Do you have any other recording devices plugged in to your computer?
