You legend! I’ve been trying to fix my safari settings so I can watch 4K KZread videos in the full 4K resolution because before it wouldn’t let me go above 1080. Hi, depends on what error you are getting. Could be a DNS issue. If you open Terminal and type "Traceroute WEBSITE" it should show you if its trying to route to a site. I might make a video on this.

Sounds like a DNS issue. You can try a new network location in Network Settings/preferences.

When I use Safari on my Macbook and hit pause or play on KZread or Netflix videos and streams in general, it gives a fade in fade out effect to the audio that makes me lose a good portion (like 5 sec) of the audio of a video. I couldn't find a way to disable this and so I end up using Chrome.

Clear website data and history in settings > safari and then close the app from app switcher menu.

I was actually able to fix mine with inspect element and deleting stuff in inspect element.

Hi, this is because in your general Safari preferences, you probably have a different download destination instead of your downloads folder.

If spotlight is having issues it's reinstall time. Possibly erase reinstall, but I always recommend backups

The saved application state file in the user library is the cause to it reopening with the same pages.

If empty cache didn't work you may need to update.

i just restarted my macbook and when i search anything in safari (eg youtube, simple maths ect) the screen goes a gray colour with a white bar through the middle and i cant click on any links do you know what’s wrong?

This sounds like a safari software issue imo. Prob need to reinstall the OS to get it.

This is something other users have mentioned. I wonder if Apple is aware as it sounds like a bug of some sort. Might need a reinstall but check with Apple.

Sounds like a privacy settings issue. Is Safari showing under screen record in privacy permission settings?

the beach ball of doom is more of a system issue or a process slowing. You can check activate monitor to see what's slowing down.

No worries, when launching the app again you hold the Shift key on the keyboard. Hope that helps.

Usually there's a routing issue for that kind of symptom. Try adding "" in front for a different protocol.

Check in networking under advanced there's a proxy tab. Might have sox proxy checked

That would be a networking issue. Something possibly blocking traffic. Can you run a ping test in terminal?

There's a button on your keyboard on the left that says shift. You physically hold that button down and launch the Safari app at the same time, then release the button once Safari is open

That's an even bigger issue. Might need a reinstall from the recovery partition. Search "reinstall macOS from recovery". Although this is just speculation. Always check with Apple first.

Probably the CPU or RAM. Possibly a library file causing issues.

Ya, could def be Safari. I know some sites prevent sharing while screen sharing to prevent content theft. Sounds like a 3rd party browser is the work around. Happy you got it going 👍

Shouldn't delete any apps. Cache is just saved template data. Reinstall will get safari back.

Safari (Desktop on BigSur) became worse and worst. Scroll freeze, Google Maps freeze. Firefox and Opera running perfectly on Apple, but Safari, update 16.5.1 and next v. became the worst browser for Mac.
