How to fix Air Conditioner problem after installing Tow Mirrors to a 2018 F-150
How to fix 2018 Ford F-150 air conditioner problom and check engine light on, after installing Tow Mirrors bought from Ebay or Amazon. Before you buy them figure out if there is an external ambient air temperature (AAT) sensor anywhere in the side mirrors. You can go and look under the passenger side mirror if there is a small rubber bubble underneath it. If so, that most be the AAT sensor. If you installed your Tow Mirrors already, you can plug the original passenger side mirror to the wiring harness to see if the air conditioner cools down. If you did it and work, then you need to remove the AAT sensor from the old mirror and place it in to the new passenger side tow mirror. You can put inside the mirror and wire the plug, or you can connect it to the plug and just leave it behind the mirror door cover. It worked that way for me while i put it outside the truck inside the mirror. Once again, youmay correct the problem with the OBD II scaner and forscan, but if the passenger side mirror has the AAT senson, you most follow the tutorial to fix the problem or do it at the mirror inatalation moment to avoid the air conditioner problem.

Nice video i just had my check engine turn on after installed tow mirrors..... do ur tow mirror turn on with parking lamp or just to turn?
I didn't get any check engine lights with mine. Just got K2motor. Mirrors installed. So far no issues

i bought k2 mirrors and mine didnt have the sensor, but there is a 22to 8 pin harness do you think the normal sensor would plug into the harness and work that way

This is a great question. Where were the 2 brown wires actually attached to inside the mirror?

Did u buy these exact ones in the link? I orderd these too for my 2018
What was the AC problem.? I installed tow mirrors and now my AC started blowing hot air and after clear airflow the AC starts cooling down. Took it to dealer and they couldn’t find anything! Also noticed on the center screen (radio screen) the temperature reading starts fluctuating and it’ll read 40 degrees down to -26. So when it acts up and reading low, it blows hot air. Could this be the same issue.

The problem may be the air temperature sensor in the passenger side mirror. The new one may doesn't has it. Verify if it is under the mentioned mirror, otherwise use the sensor from the original mirror as I did.

You may reset the screen with an OBD-II scanner. You may use forscan as the app at the smart phone or the computer.

If the new mirror doesn't have the sensor, yes...
Did you run a wire for turning signal? Your original mirror didn't have turn signal.

The original connector from the truck suposed to have the wires for the signal lights even wen the original mirror doesn't have the signal light. it is just plug and play.

You didn’t show the most important part which is to what color wires the sensor wires need to go to🤷🏼♂️…

Sorry for the delay, If you are taking the sensor with the cable from the old mirror, you may see in the video where the brown cables are taken from and then place the cable in the new plug in the same place, which will be empty. If you are wiring with a new cable is the same.
