    Thanks! All I had to do was watch your video, return to the basement and as I was feeling around the switch to see if I could remove it, the machine turned on! Thanks again!

    Same fix on FP205200RB. To be honest I’m so thankful. Living paycheck to paycheck right now and a new compressor was really gonna put my family in jeopardy of not being able to pay our bills. You saved the Victory Garden project. Praise God I found this video. Thank you for taking the time to record it.

    Thanks so much for this video! I just fixed my 1 year old 2 gallon Cambell air compressor by taking the switch out and bending the little metal flip switch inside so it made contact in the on position. I didn't even need to order a new switch! Surprised myself that I was able to fix it, thanks again!!

    I just fixed my 1 gallon version thanks to your video! Wouldn't start. Unplugged, yanked the switch, hot-wired it. Started right up. Blew canned air into the switch and re-installed it. Bingo! Thanks!!!

    Well shoot. I plugged mine in and it wouldn't start I checked everything. I finally realized that it was full of air and as soon as I started using it it kicked on. This probably would have been a better secret. lol.

    What setting did you put the multimeter on?

  • @LifeHappensLetsFixIt

    @LifeHappensLetsFixIt

    Жыл бұрын

    It's on the Ohms setting. The symbol is the upper case Greek letter Omega (Ω). My multimeter has a separate Ohm setting (With the "speaker" icon) that works just like the regular Ohm setting except that it makes a beep sound if the switch is working properly when it is switched to the on position. If you don't have the same option, use the Ohm setting and watch for the needle to move instead of listening for a beep.

    what if you've replaced the motor and it won't start? I've tested power from the wall and get 120 on each side, tested the motor contacts from the pressure switch and have 120 at the motor with the switch on, but it still wont start. It's a single phase 5hp 240v straight out the box

    My compressor starts working and builds pressure up to 150psi but sometimes during work it will not start and won't keep tank charged. Sometimes it turns on only for a few seconds then goes quiet. Sometimes I hears something that it wants to start like air going somewhere through the pipe for about 2 second and then quiets and stays like that. Fails to keep up pressure in tank when I use it. Pressure goes low as 50psi but compressor doesn't start. Then I had to open drain valve to release remaining air pressure in the tank. Disconnect it from AC power for few minutes and it starts working again build up to 150psi again. I don't hear any air leaks. What could be wrong??

    I’m not sure, but it sounds like maybe the sensor that’s supposed to turn the compressor on is getting stuck. This is a total guess, but maybe you have a compressor that needs to be oiled? Maybe if you oil it that will fix the part that is sticking. Find out if there are any maintenance recommendations for your compressor.

    I got the same compressor? Doyou knew of a way to quiet it down? Mine will also wake the dead. Must be a common problem with small compressors

    Yeah... I totally agree. I turn it on and leave the room while it comes up to pressure. You can get quieter ones but they are, of course, more expensive.

    I just watched the video and what I noticed is that when I disconnect the cables from the switch, I remove the red from the circle side and the black from the side of the line. And when I connect the new switch, I connect the red cables from the line side. and the black on the side of the circle... I would like to know why and if it has nothing to do with connecting to the opposite

  • @LifeHappensLetsFixIt

    The switch just breaks the connection and reconnects it. It doesn’t matter which wire goes to which side.

    It may just have some saw dust or other small debris. Try blowing it out with an air compressor, canned air or just some of your own "hot air"!
