One of the Best things to happen in 2024 is to see and hear Otto Kilcher and the Members of the Kilcher Family on KZread Channel. Thanks for the video, Otto.👍🙏
I’m an elderly lady living in Scotland and I’m really enjoying your videos, I’m country girl brought up on a remote hill farm (beef and sheep) and like your self we had to repair anything that broke you take me back to when men and women were hardy and we just got on with what ever life through at us keep doing what you are doing 😊
The world needs more Otto Kilcher's teaching us how to get through life's challenges.

Not changing the world or anything, just an old guy who was raised in a fairly cold atmosphere. Next, we nead a vid on how to put a PPP zipper back together. Good luck with that. Installed and test with a little blast. Yup.
Otto, the king of recycling and rebuilding. Over the years I have seen you fix more things than I can remember, most of them would have been thrown away by many other folks. But you Otto were taught how to keep things going long past their "time", to give them a fresh start.
Hey August thanks for sharing your dad with us again. Just something about that guy
The fact you fixed the old one and didn't just buy a new one shows how capable and knowledgeable o.k. is! What a man to learn from.
using the bolt to find the place to tap the threads loose, genius love it. old school is new school.
OTTO FOR PRESIDENT 💯 😊
Born in 1950 and grew up working on cars, motorcycles, and anything that broke. Enjoyed watching you for South Carolina.
Great video! Otto is amazing and so happy to see the Kilcher family on KZread!
Otto, I saw Finley on your son's channel. The last time I saw him he was a toddler and his sister was a baby. Now I find your channel and it's AWESOME. Always LEARN something from you. I'm glad you're on You Tube
the starter school of otto!!! keep up the good work!!
Thank you Otto and the whole Kilcher family for everything you do on the homestead.
Knowledge is the key! That’s why you should always watch closely and listen to your elders. They have the knowledge!
So glad you are on You tube and Facebook. Hoping you can get your vehicle issues fixed ASAP. Your various vehicles are so important to the cattle drives to and from the head of the bay and other chores on the homestead. Best wishes to all the Kilcher family members.
you made me smarter today. Thank you
Yeah your back. Mr. Fixit I enjoy watching you, your mind is Great. You can fix anything. GO OTTO!
I am so happy to see that the family has come back on even if it’s just on segments in KZread. I really enjoyed the series and watch rerun after rerun. These little episodes seem to show more of the background and I really enjoyed that. I hope everybody stays safe, and God bless 1:45 1:45
Prof. Otto does it again! Great job.
Your OK OK! The MAN that can fix just about anything.
Thanks Otto. Really enjoy you sharing your knowledge
If anyone can repair it Otto can. Alabama loves this new channel. Thankfully you started this cause l was really upset, over the Discovery channel stupid decision. Then again maybe you get a lot more peace now that they are gone.

I wa angry with them too. Ah but now we can watch Otto without their control.
So glad I found you. We’ve enjoyed seeing your family for years
I enjoy the daylights out of watching Otto work. I always learn something new! Thanks for sharing your time with us.
Even though its what I do everyday (6 years as a diesel mechanic in Maine), I never get tired of people that can fix 'anything' with 'nothing', making your own parts, and seeing how the do-ers have their shops set up.
Love the homestead videos … watching u from Nova Scotia , Canada
Well, I guess it's "OK" now.... Skills + Knowledge + Experience = Success. Thanks for sharing, Otto. -Dusty
WISDOM ‼️ THANKS FOR SHARING 😂 OK??
Hope the other machine starters were also easy repairs. 👍👍👍
Great video on how to repair a starter 💯👍👍
Keep em comin Otto!!! When you can make rebuilding a starter interesting and also entertaining…… there’s no doubt you’re a “gifted”man! It’s obvious you’ve passed that down! Everyday life with you folks can have a lesson or story to be told! Have appreciated greatly the sharing that you all have allowed us to see! Hopefully this “new” chapter Otto will be better than you ever dreamed! BLESSINGS❣️
Keeping starter and alternator overhaul kits in stock is a must when you live remotely. Great job on this easy repair. I remember my father replacing the water pump on the truck when he took us to Boy Scout summer camp. The camp staff drove him into town to get a new pump.
Nothing better than e-start, but it’s great to have the pull cord back up!
I absolutely LOVED watching you work on that starter! Brought back memories of my dad working on things. I chuckled a few times saying "Look at him on this! That's amazing!!" My husband even narrated some as he has done the same in the past. A dying skill set Otto. Don't ever change. You're OK Awesome!
Great job Otto!
Love it just like the TV show started fixing things and getting stuff done! Thank You
thank you Otto ,you just taught me how to repair the starter motor on my 4 wheeler ,which will save me money ! also i love the videos they are awesome entertainment ! ,thankyou again for your resiliance in recycling and using things that would be discarded, for many years i have watched Alaska the last frontier and have seen your self and family recyling anything and everything that is needed for the project on hand
My dad used to make a huge mess in his garage, in fact it was always a huge mess. He blamed me and my brother on it but it was his mess. One time I cleaned up the whole garage while he was at work. He had a conniption. He couldn't find stuff for months. I just put everything away. Moral of the story: never put anything away if you weren't the one who took it out. He was "angry".

HAH!! I did that once too! I found where he hid the "Kesslers" adult beverage! That's why he spent so much time "puttering around". I was sworn to secrecy and banished from that area.

When in another person's shop,, put the tools back where you found them, not where they might belong. The last person using the tool, will remember where they left it😁
A man of many talents and tricks😊😊👍👍👍
Happy Memorial day weekend 🎉🇺🇲. Thanks Otto ,I learned this when I owned my 70 Nova Coupe👍 My older gent Machanic friend showed me how to change the brushes that were worn . You're the man with the tool know how💪 JOJOINVT💞!
👍 Just like a neighbor showed me years ago. Fred is a good man.
WoW! I haven't seen you in a long time! I still remember years ago, Otto saying (paraphrasing) "some men like a woman who great in the kitchen - Some men like women who are great in the bedroom. Otto liked the latter.
Great tutorial! Thanks! We have a 4wheeler and its getting old like us. That seems like a repair we can do. I admire people who can figure stuff out like you. Not everyone has that gift. Thanks for sharing!
Incredible 🙌 We need more Otto Kilchers 🤩

Hey Otto....glad I found your Utube Channel.......It would be great if you could do a vid telling your fans all about the whole Kilcher Family, including Atz and other siblings. Just to get us up to date on how everyone is going from your old show.
Otto is the Alaska Macgyver
Nice job. Master Tech. I've probably fixed over 10 to 12 starters over the years. It's always nice when they work again. August, are you keeping an eye on how this is going, so you can do it yourself someday?
So happy I found your channel!! Glad to see you are doing ok!!

Sweet!!!!
Awesome, ace Mackinac
Nice video
Otto has survival skills. Unfortunately most people won’t have a clue when the American dream becomes a nightmare. Otto will be warm and comfortable. Wake up America
NICE!!!
Vice grip brand is the only locking pliers that really work though. Anything else is junk. Malco makes a good pair too.
Good Morning! this is Awesome!! i just subscribed to your channel and i also hit the bell thing too. i Love watching you on t.v. and now i can watch you on youtube. :) :)
What about showing us when you got the broken off screw out? I feel like I'm on a boat that is in rough water! 🌊😖🤣

Not just water Ingres but salt water, Induction magic, keep hitting the permanent magnet starter and you go from 4 poles to 8.
Those brushes are shot.
To keep the bolt threads corrosion free, use a light coating of aviation formagasket. It's a requirement to coat the length of the long bolt threads AND shank. Anyone who has replaced a water pump on most of the V-8 ford engines, where a few of the bolts go through the water pump, through the aluminum timing cover, then into the cast iron block, KNOW the crust-ation frustration. The bolt shank, steel and the timing cover, aluminum, often have corrosion so bad, the bolt head breaks off and the shank of the bolt is stuck in the timing cover housing,,,and STILL threaded into the engine block. Oh, when you find another timing cover. Make sure it has the same configuration as the one you replace,,,the v-belt drive and the serpentine belt drive rotate the opposite direction. This is the shituation I dealt with on the ford 302. Coat your bolt with aviation formagasket, you'll thank me later🎯 Good luck😎☕
