This just turned into a bigger job than I anticipated. I just wanted my overflow to stop flowing.
You are really good at explaining things in a fun way & creating videos to go with. Much appreciated!

Should I tighten it also with the monkey wrench?
Saved me from calling my maintenance people and having to wait all day for them to simply turn a screw. Thank you so much!!!!
my problem was solved with the clockwise screwdriver. thanks!
I really enjoyed the humorous video inserts during your presentation🤣

Great video and it showed exactly what needed to be done. I have a project next week because that is the same problem. Funny when I adjusted the pressure of whole house water pressure at the main it effected the toilets.

wow, we just got a full measure of fixing the running toilet issue.. not a little snippet as many others do.
How about how to just clean out or replace the refill valve seal in this kind of toilet? They say when thats clogged it will keep making the hissing sound. Do you unscrew the cap on the vavle the same way you do on newer models? They just pull it up and twist it. I see youve got the exact same kind of old vavle cap i have with the 3 screws. I dont know if i can just do the same so i can clean that out. Or do I need to unscrew the 3 screws. Can you show how to clean out or replace the seal?
So, tomorrow I have to go to Home Depot or Lowes to buy a new valve unit. HOWEVER, what's in our tank right now is almost exactly like the "new" one he installed. That danged thing has been nothing but a pain in the butt! We do have hard water here, so I suspect that the problems it has are due to a buildup of gunk inside it. I can't even turn it to adjust it anymore unless I put a lot of pressure on it. Then, after I adjust the stupid thing, it works for a day or two and I have to hit it to make it work (start or stop). So, I'm going back to the old school type, like the old one he had there. At least, those are easier to adjust and might last longer. But, I'm going to be prepared for the future. I'm buying a MOEN one and the repair kit at the same time. Best to be ready!
"Old Flapper" ??? Is that George Santos' new drag name? Just curious. 😁😅😂🤣
What is the other screw for beside the purple screw?

When?
That purple screw on the fill valve at the beginning, how big is it? I'm trying to determine if mine is snapped in half or something, because it pops out and in really easily like it's not attatched to anything, thread wise. It's about a half inch in length, maybe smaller. I can turn it right or left and it doesn't accomplish anything, like it's stripped, but it isn't. It just kinda sits in there and wiggles. I'm trying to get it to catch threading by pushing firmly as I try and engage it with thread, but nothing happens. One thing tho, when I do push down on it a bit, the water stops. But when I release, water begins to flow. Headache!
Fluidmaster or korky kits?
but what are the names of the parts? and can you replace the old ball float with the vertical float?
How do one adjust the valve from 10in to 14in?
LMAO was that bacon in the hole after the sponge gasket was removed?
Got a brand new toilet. Had it 3 months and it runs. It will turn off if I lift the bulb. Same problem. I'm so frustrated.
Do you help do the job?
I have turned the screw ALL the way and it still won't stop running..

I remember that the very old ones didn't have the adjustment screw. With those one could only screw the float up or down the rod and some, the rod could screw more in or more out of the valve top itself. I remember too that in the old days, we often had to bend the float road so that it would arch up a bit, making the float hit the water sooner. It worked.
Thanks for the video. Simple. But next time,,,, clean the bowl before you video. K?
why the dolphin? 5 min and 58sec

You are wasting your time and mine by adding those short clips!
I would def risk cracking the porcelain because the sarcastic plumber that thinks my perfectly working pipes are outdated wants $400 minimum. Literally insane
