The best explanation on how to fix the Hose bib on KZread. Clear, concise and simple to understand. Thank you soo much
Thank you for actually showing a spigot repair instead of talking about other things for half an hour! GREAT!

Yeah that guy from Dallas talks to much about nothing relative to the repair
Thank you for getting straight to the point. It is a very rare and appreciated skill on KZread. Getting to the paint, that is. So again -- thank you.
Thank you for a short concise video that taught me everything I needed to understand about this topic! And thanks for skipping all the hyper active BS some other guys use in their videos. THIS is the way it should be done!
Far and away the best and most helpful video on how to fix a leaking hose bib.
Straight to the point with visuals and explanations. Great video, thanks!
This is a solid video, from an informational and production standpoint. Props to a quality KZread Channel! I'm shocked you don't have more subs.
Thank you for this. It helped a lot. And I appreciate your attention to detail in terms of covering all possible areas where the faucet can leak. Great job!

Very clear, complete instructions. Thank you!
Loved the humility you showed me at the end, when the "defective" valve wouldn't come out! That shows that I'm not the only one who does stuff like that!

Love this video! Right to the point! No BS!
Well done, doing some advance research for a repair and not sure if it's the same brand but the information is great to have regardless. Thank you for the time you put into your videos.
Excellent breakdown of a common plumbing problem. Best trouble-shooting I've found on this plumbing issue. Thank you.
Appreciate the detail and clear instructions. Thank you!
Excellent video, especially for this novice homeowner.
Clear stepwise demonstration with possible complications at various steps plus work-arounds.
Excellent and very complete video. Thanks.
Best video on the planting, thank you very much.

Great job answered every question!!!
Great video. My FFHB was a little different. I happened to have the correct size washer in my plumbing tool box. Repair made without having to go to Home Depot. That in itself is a WIN!
Just found this a few hours ago....spent $20 @ LOWES...worked like a charm !! THANKS A TON !!!
Very informative . Now I'll try it. Thanks
I tightened the packing nut because it was leaking from the stem. It worked! Voila! I had a repair kit ready, but didn't need it. Thank you so much for your detailed, precise, helpful instructions.
Thanks for the step by step tutorial, I was able to fix my spigot. I used a little bit of plumber's putty to hold the breaker in place. I did break the retaining screw, luckily I was able to drill it out and jam a small screwdriver in it.
Will be fixing mine today. Thank you so much!

Great video! Thanks!
Great demonstration, photography, sound, and explanation. On my original attempt I missed the step of re-engaging the tube with the handle prior to installing the packing...so the spigot leaked! Looking back on the other video I had viewed prior to my "repair," I noted that this step was glossed over a bit. But my bad, all the same. This one is going into my "save to watch later" bin, as I am certain I will be needing it again. Well done.
Very informative. Thank you.
Nice job, watched some other guys that was twice as long and full of BS cutaways. Thanks for keeping it concise and to the point!

Had a slow but consistent leak from the knob, and searched a lot yesterday for how to troubleshoot that, and came back with nothing but installing a full repair kit to fix spigot leaks. I had decided I'd go to Lowe's tomorrow to get a kit for the Woodford Model 17 and get it over with. Then, this video was randomly on my recommends today. LOL Watched over 25 videos, this is the only one to recommended testing the packing nut as an initial step ... it had somehow loosened, and I was able to get a quarter-turn tighter, leak stopped. Saved me $30.
Thanks for the great demonstration and instructions!

Best one I seen. Kool video
Little note. When tightening the packing nut with new washer don't tighten as tight as you can get it. This way if it leaks in the future you can simply tighten a bit more to stop the packing leak.

Thanks for the Video mine was in the cap all it was the rubber gromet / washer came off the float
This guy knows plumbing parts terms. Nice to see an actual plumber teaching actual plumbing. I think my leak is from the corroded handle screw. Is that possible? The packing nut is reverse-thread and seems snug.
@fix135

Likely it's the packing (seal) behind the packing nut. The handle screw doesn't hold back any water at all. The shaft that it screws into goes through the packing inside the packing nut. Hope I didn't confuse you too badly.
Thanks so much! Great video!

Nice moustache. Video was great too.
That's funny when you take a second to think "counter clockwise" and all of those equations appear rotating just like you're calculating something in your brain. Too funny!!!

Ha! Sometimes it's closer to the truth than I'd like to admit!
Your video was very helpful - thank you! I purchased a 3 year old home with Woodford faucets - some hot/cold and some just cold. I don't know what model numbers they are so I'm hoping the numbers are stamped on them somewhere. My question is "do you know where I can purchase the basic parts (e.g. valve seat rubber, rubber check valve and packing washer) for the Woodford faucets? You said "your local hardware store", but my local Home Depot and Lowes don't carry those specific parts.
thank you, very clear but I have these on my house and I tightened the bushing a few years ago, to take care of it then, now I thought I should just rebuild them now, so I took them apart, saw it would cost me 20 dollars per faucet, just wiped the parts off, and put them both back together and neither on leaks, maybe I just had a speck of something in there. So glad I didn't spend the money!!!
Good Job on Video. What do you do if water is coming out of the hole in the stem that holds handle?
Hi. I have a leak at the valve of Nibco 90 outside faucet. How do I find a replacement kit or unit? Thanks for your great video and help.
Thank you for this clear presentation. Will a Prier Hydrant Vaccum Breaker Replacement Kit work on the Woodford models?
How do you not lose all the small parts when you're kneeling on the side of your house? Beautiful detail.

Use a bowl to put all the part into.
thank you for the video. Is there any trick to lose a very tight vacuum breaker?
Thanks for the thorough video! How can I tell the model of my valve by the way? Thanks
Mine leaks from behind the vinyl siding? But only when hose is attached aka when there is pressure against the water flow. We bought a fixer upper any advice is much appreciated!!
Great video. Like that you left in the mistakes. Is there an easy way to identify which valve I have? Are they all marked with model and brand?

The woodfords have the model number on the top of the vacuum breaker,
Thanks for the great moustache and video. I am purchasing a home and inspection pointed out a leaking hose bib on the outside of the foundation is likely causing some mold inside the finished basement where the drywall meets the floor. I presume this means the hose bib leak is actually leaking inside and draining onto the floor causing this mold. Does that mean drywall needs to be removed, mold killed and cleaned up and that should be it to address this? Or can there be worse downstream effects?
Since I'm not removing the whole hydrant just to change the vacuum breaker...got any tricks for installing the new plunger? It keeps falling out when I put the plastic fitting in because my spigot is upside up in the wall. Help? Thanks!
In my new house I have a simile faucet. When under pressure - with hose and sprayer attached but closed - there is a water running noise in the wall containing the pipe (as if the water was/is fully turned on). Is this a normal backflow noise, or do I have a leak in my wall? Thanks!
Do you have to shut off the water to replace the packing nut from the valve stem?
I have one similar to this, maybe not the same model but the same style. My problem is the handle doesn't stop turning when your turning the water off. It keeps turning clockwise forever and it's hard to get that sweet spot where it quits leaking water. Any suggestions here would be appreciated, thank you.

@66lwmorgan

@@JLilliquist The spigot handle is tightly screwed on, it's not loose but it seems like something is broke on the inside where it shuts off the water flow. Do you have a solution as to how to fix it? Thank you
please help, where do I order the Smith Cooper product? I am looking for Stem Assembly for 6-Inch Sillcock
Looking for help. My hosebib only has a 1/4 turn from off to on. Guessing there is some kind of cartridge rather than rubber seal. Can't figure out how to pull rod and assembly. Any suggestions. Tried turning handle hard and no luck. Tried pulling hard no luck.
So on mine the screw holding the handle on, the head is stripped. If I cut that off to get the handle off while that keep me from being able to do this repair? I can always replace the screw.
Can I replace the valve handle without turning off the water? I don't have a separate shutoff for outside and last time I turned off my mainline and turned it back on it leaked for days without me knowing. I'd have to get a pro out to fix the mainline because the City needs to shutoff the water to the house. Its a big thing... Want to fix the leak outside without all that hassel.
1:30 - LOL!!!!
