Ok one thing....the end of the commutator shaft looked scored and that should be sanded and well-greased. My dealer kept replacing the interior fan motor at $200 each and when it went out again after about 18 months, I asked if they ever looked inside the motor. They said the motors are sealed and cant be serviced. I said bullshit. We opened the motor same as this video and saw that the Denso factory never put any grease on the end of the shaft, it was black-blue scored. We sanded the commutator, cleaned and liberally greased everything, put it back together and it ran like new. The dealer was pissed off that I called them out on this and they charged me $75 for labor even though I showed them how and did the work. Wiper, window and fan motors all have the very same serviceable motors. Wiper motors usually have some grease in them but others dont. Some are easier to get to than others but if you are willing to spent a little time with simple tools you can service all the motors which will then give long life and you can stop buying them. Electric motors, even your blender and vacuum cleaner all operate on the same principles and need maintenance along the way. A little labor on your part can save you a bundle. Im an old guy and in the old days shops always serviced parts, they didnt automatically replace them like nowadays. Some parts are a one way ticket, some can be serviced. Learn to do this, its not hard and becomes a very useable skill. In the case of this job, when you have the door panel off clean and grease every moving part you can find and also the cables that lift and lower the glass. You'll likely see that everything is dry and dirty too. I did one door yesterday and it took me 2.5 hours but everything is like new and cost zero dollars. Three more doors to do!

You're the man. My old fiat x1/9 power window gave it up, and I used your vid to see how to disassemble and test. Turns out the contacts between the leads and the circuit breaker had gone bad, so I cleaned them up, resoldered and I'm good to go. This was a great, clear video and saved me the cost and hassle of putting in a new motor. Subscribed!!

Wife's 2008 kia sorento driver window had issues. Had to bang on it to go up or down. I knew there had to be a fix rather than spend close to $100 on a new motor/ regulator. This process took me about a half hour. All i spent was about $4 on a pack of 320 grit sandpaper. Works PERFECT!!!!!!! I cant thank you enough!!!

Brother I need your advice and brilliant ideas PLEASE my bro. I'm Michael in England by the way brother and own a 2000 Honda Civic EJ9 Hatchback but right hand drive for the Japanese Market. So unknowingly I've only gone and ordered a Dorman 741-736 window regulator which is for a USDM Honda Civic's (Passenger side) so have just discovered that the regulators motor electrical plug is a 2 pin whereas on my UKDM Civic (Driver side) it's a 4 pin plug. So basically regulator and motor would fit as it's for the right side door, just theres 2 wires and a 2 pin plug instead of 4 wires and a 4 pin plug to connect to my UKDM wiring as my civic is right hand drive and regulators are reversal compared to left hand drives. Any ideas to work round this bro? Damn totally my fault I should've known plugs would be different being that RHD - UKDM and LHD- USDM, Totally my fault 🤦🏼🤣 Your advice and ideas would be greatly appreciated please brother, Kind regards Michael in England

I think you can get brushes that are close to the right size and then just sand them down to the proper fit with like some 80 grit sandpaper but be careful it’s like carbon graphite and is really messy

NO ! DO NOT put grease on the commutator, it needs to be clean to conduct electricity. You will gum up the carbon brushes with grease there. Only put grease on mechanical bearings and gears or parts that carry a friction load.

Hello every body. I had the same problem on my 2006 Nissan Frontier. The window was up and because the motor wasn’t working, I couldn’t slide it down so I couldn’t reach the screws to disappart the glass but I found a solution. I unscrewed the screws on the motor cap, then I turned the rotor by hand to counter clockwise for a few minutes and the glass slided down slow by slow. I am gonna load the video on my channel. The name of my channel is Kiky TV.
