Just a quick video showing how to fix a blinking or flashing Costco (Altair Brand) Outdoor LED Lantern wall mounted light.
After a little research, I realized that this is a pretty common issue with these lights and it seems like replacing the LED driver is the solution.
I was going to just replace these outdoor lights, but I am glad I found this fix and it seems to be working great.
Turn off the power before attempting this repair.
You can uninstall the light fixture if you'd like before doing this.
I used a zip tie to mount the new driver since the mounting holes didn't line up the same.
Tools needed:
Number 2 Philips Screwdriver
Wire Nuts and/or Bullet/Butt connectors
Crimp tool and a way to cut and/or strip the wires from the old driver (if you plan on reusing the connector to the LED's.
Electrical Tape
Zip tie or another method of your choice to mount the replacement driver
Thanks for watching!

Thank you so much for letting me know there was a problem with it! I really appreciate your help and feedback. Take care, Dan the Fix it Man
This video was great. We don't have your model but have the Altair 2163. We followed those steps. The light goes on but photo sensor doesn't seem to be working right as it stays on in the daylight. Did we wire something wrong?
worked like a charm :)
I ordered the part you recommended and this fixed the problem; however, I discovered that of the eight LED lights on the panel only one is working. On the other porch light we are down to three working LEDs. I there a way to replace those? I watched several videos that recommended converting it to a standard bulb, but I'd rather not do that.
Great video, i have 2 of these half of the led lights are working, do you think its the same issue?

It might be the same fix, but it’s possible that some of the led’s are bad too…

We had the same problem then days later the light started blinking. It's a $15. Fix if you get the right power supply! Cheaper than a new light at around $55 to $80.00
Thanks for this. I just got a new replacement kit from Altair ($17) and the new LED plate integrates the driver, so no more white box.

Hey Gene, where did you buy it? Altair shows the fix in their website but didn't appear to cell actual parts ..
Hey Dan, thanks for this but I think my bulb is bad. Are the LED bulbs available too? Not sure I'm finding the correct bulb as it's an odd one to find. thx again!

Sorry, I don't have a link to the exact same led bulb, but you should be able to find something in a similar color and size on amazon. Thx, Dan
Thank you for a simple detailed quick fix video. This did not work… our LEDs are partially burned out. 😢
How do you replace led light chip? My led light is dead!!!

Replacing the led light chip should be pretty easy. It's held on by 4 small screws and has two wires that connect to the driver. I don't have a link for the replacement, but if you can't get the exact one to replace it, you can just find a similar led chip in size and color and it should work fine. Best of luck to you! -Dan the Fix it Man
I just replaced the led chip board and now ive got the flashing. My first thought it was the daylight sensoruntil I watched this. Jeez these things were built with cheap components.
Did not work for me, not sure why...
