When drilling folks, make sure you don’t plough thorough with your wood bit. It will usually cause the timber to blow out. Always work from both sides!

@@johnmartinez7440 don’t plough through, in other words take your time and go through both sides. Blow out is an English/American term relating to damage created the other side from being to forceful.

Also make sure you put the cat flap the right way round, my father didn't with one of ours and the poor cat could get out but not in. They usually have a guard front or lock on the inner side but check with each instructions for confirmation.

standing can have multiple meaning, like leaving a pie to stand to cool down. its not standing like a human, but you know what it means

The holes was to near to the edge of cut out making a weak point even with the flange of the cat flap it was weak. He cut square to big' guy is a novice' and i am not a joiner. You can even see screw going through wood terrible job . Any good DIY/er could do a better job than someone that is clearly has no pride in DIY finishes. Instructions were spot on though well done.

Sorry but you are wrong. I have fitted this cat flap before and I can honestly say its a piece of crap for the reasons you are saying. If he had cut the opening any smaller then the flaps don't open. The problem is the design of the cat flap, why they didn't just put the holes further away I don't know.
