How to Fish the Yamamoto Yamatanuki | Texas Rig

Спорт

Fred Roumbanis demonstrates the effectiveness and versatility of Texas-rigging the innovative Yamamoto Yamatanuki bait. Designed to mimic a variety of underwater creatures, this soft bait offers a unique, yet natural presentation that has quickly proven itself for bass throughout the country.

In this video, Roumbanis showcases the unique features of the Yamatanuki and how to fish it on a weightless Texas rig. The Yamatanuki's distinctive shimmying tail action mimics various underwater prey, such as baitfish, bluegill, and crawfish, making it the perfect lure for fishing a range of aquatic habitats.
As Roumbanis demonstrates, the Texas rig technique allows for versatile and effective fishing with the Yamatanuki. Whether you're flipping it into holes or jigging it back along the bottom, this bait presents a natural and enticing target for fish. With a simple twitch, the Yamatanuki darts back and forth, imitating the movements of crawfish with surprising realism.

I was doing great with it this summer as well. I also added a cone weight and a skirt above it on the line/hook and it gave it more flair worked pretty awesome both ways.

It’s a great bait but I was going through way too many of them. The hook rips through the top of the plastic after just one or two fish. I tried an Owner screwlock hook (the weightless one) last time and the screwlock ripped out after just one fish. I guess they have to be soft to have such great action but just one bass per plastic seems a bit too expensive to me.

I find this with all of the Yamamoto baits. I keep a giant zip loc bag where I put the used and damaged ones in. Once or twice a season I go through the bag with some crazy glue gel and repair the baits. Helps me get a little more use out of them.

That’s a good idea! I always keep some Gel control super glue for glueing soft plastics to jigheads. I also have mend-it for my expensive soft swimbaits. I’m going to give repairing them a try!

I am a riverbank fisherman here in Fredericton New Brunswick. Would these new baits work in river current without any weight to catch smallmouth. I have used softbaits without any weight in current that moving slow to medium speed. The Saint John River is tidal water from Fredericton to the Bay of Fundy

"the little tail shimmys" while the video clearly proves no action, certainly not shimmy like a wacky rigged stickbait. Later he says it "quivers" which I don't see or believe. It is NOT "super natural" and it does NOT "mimic a craw or a bream" in any way. "When they grab it it just blows up in their mouth" - WTH does that mean? Lots of arbitrary made up BS that's supposed to sound great in order to sell a soft plastic blob. Lol. Is anyone falling for this crap? You can catch a bass with a chicken mcnugget for cryin' out loud.
