    That’s what we want, the master class. I enjoy when u and the crew go into depth and let go of some of the juice! That info the weekend angler doesn’t have the time to figure out. Keep killing it JW!

    I love frog fishing and like you said I bob it on mats. I generally look for small holes and stop in them and twitch. One little tip I have is I kind of cast high so the frog slaps the mat, it's like a locator beacon for the bass, then they can track it.

    I'm always I may have missed it, but I don't think you mentioned that whenever you do get the frog bite you need to count to like one or two. You need to count to two at least and then set the hook because if you don't let them get the bait in their mouth, you're going to miss a lot more. My hookup ratio is much better when I count to two or three before I set the hook.

    I know Chickamauga is your home lake and it’s mine as well. I remember one spring when the water had came up to summer pool and I was throwing a black frog. I must have timed things right and got lucky because they were attacking that frog like they hadn’t eaten for a year! To this day I haven’t been able to duplicate that day but one that goes down for me in my history books. I think that is where time on the water really comes into play by simply right place at right time! Thanks for sharing the info Jacob! I was eyeballing the whole video of your jumbo spool of braid!😁😁

    Ive been a frogger since i was a teenager. Great video Jacob Wheeler! One thing i do with almost all my frogs is add 3 glass beads inside it. It can be tough to get em inside the frog, but well worth the effort as it adds a rattle to it in dirty water or really heavy cover. I also highly recommend the 6thsense Vega frog. It seems to have a really good hook-up % from my experience. Thanks again for sharing sir!

    Booyah Pad Crashers are the frogs I’ve settled on. My hookups are probably around 90%, I cut the legs short and also bend the hooks up off the body just a tad.. Another trick I do is wrap the line tie section where the hole is in the nose of the frog. About 2 layers of 30lb braid is enough, then I super glue the braid and wait until it’s fully dry. Once you put the hook and line tie back in position the line tie is seated tight on the frog. It won’t take on as much water, that saves you a lot of squeezing throughout the day.

    I’ve always been a fan of the pad crashers. But I more so bend my hooks out than I do bend them up. Seems to have more “hook surface” area for the fish to get cracked when they grab it.

    OMG, Jake, it worked. Why would they call a bait a frog & it inmates a fish?? Anyway, I threw a frog in a fish color today & had blowups. YES.. But no hookups. I cut my tails down?? After I found them, I didn't know what other bait to catch them?? What would you have thrown to catch them, Jake?? Thank you so much for helping me find them. I did what you said.. popped it, pause, walked it, pause. It was incredible..

    @@DHW448A lot of anglers have a weightless senko on a second rod and cast it at the fish after a missed hookup. Something that will slowly fall imitating an injured frog or other fish. Good luck and tight lines.

  • @dustinwalker8152
    @dustinwalker8152Ай бұрын

    Surely people don't think a hollow body, or soft plastic for that matter, frog is mimicking an actual frog? JW at Eufala and Kissimmee it kinda looked like a spro popping but was never close enough or I wasn't paying enough attention to tell, was it or is it something that y'all are working on with Rapala/Terminator or one their brands? For storage do you put cornstarch or baking soda in the box? If so, that powder stuff that Taku uses works well too. I'm too much of nerd with bass fishing. I'm constantly playing around with changing the hooks out, making a homemade skirt or switch it to hair, I've also went a little overboard and weighted/foamed certain parts of the hook/body of the frog to see how sitting on or in the water affects certain body shapes. It seems to me, and I could be wrong, that there are 5 basic categories of frogs: walking, popping (even though I mostly walk them too), mats, wood/bushes and commotion (stuff like the Sprinker, honker, etc). If you weren't sponsored and price didn't matter, what would be your pick for each one? Edit: Nice Biden flag lol!

    If its a blow up i usually just wait 2 seconds or if i feel the fish... now if they just grab it off the surface i'll give it up to 5 seconds before setting the hook, like ive told my buddy who has trouble with the frog because he cant be patient... the fish sometimes just grabs it and needs a second to really get it in their mouth same the videos we see online underwater of soft plastic bites

    Also in bluegill fisheries... like ponds and what not i prefer a poppin frog... walking one of those when bluegill are present is super deadly just getting the extra little splash like a bluegill nipping at the surface it can get wild some days
